  • 1989 chevy k1500 engine problems?

I am having issues with misfiring and smoking. First, let me tell you what I have had done. I put a new 5.7L 350 crate engine in the truck. It has all new sensors, distributor, cap, coil, and all new connectors. It has new fuel pump and filter. New plugs and wires. New ignition control module. New injectors and rebuilt tbi. All new wiring. New radiator, water pump, and fan clutch. New thermostat. New oil pump and all gaskets. Everything is new except the intake manifold, air cleaner, and ecu. I made sure timing is dead on and valves adjusted per service manual. I start it up for the first time and it purrs like a kitten....for 30 seconds. Then it starts to miss worse and worse as it warms up. Then it starts backfiring, smoking and then it dies. If I let it cool off, it does the same thing...runs good, gets worse, then dies. I checked and there is no stored ecu codes. Any ideas on what could be going on? Maybe a bad rebuild on the crate engine? Faulty part? I am lost as to what it could be.

  • What is the proper engine break in procedure?

I am having a remanufactured crate engine installed in my truck. However, I have not recieved the engine from the manufacturer yet. I don't know if it will come with their break in procedures or not. I know my shop will have an opinion on it, but from a little online research on my own, it seems like everyone has a different opinion on it. If it helps, its a 2000 ford ranger 3.0l v6 flex fuel.

  • I have a misfire only when the engine warms up?

2000 ford ranger 3.0l v6. It purrs like a kitten at cool temps, but starts misfiring when it warms up. Recently the truck was getting compression in the water jacket, so I had the head gasket replaced. Do you think it could be a compression leak. There is no coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant. Also, it is not overheating or bubbling in the radiator. Do you think the head gasket failed or could it be something like a vacuum leak?

  • 2000 for ranger 3.0L temp problems?

When I first start it, it warms up fine and heater functions normally, however, after some driving, the temp guage drops all the way to C and the heater goes out at this point, then the guage pegs out at hot breifly, then falls back to normal 195 degrees. Heater stops working completley at this point. It has a new water pump and thermostat and coolant levels are ok at all times. Any ideas? Maybe a clogged radiator?

  • 2000 Ford ranger pickup- wet floorboards?

I have a 2000 Ford ranger that has soaked floorboards after it rains. It is not the heater core, as I don't smell antifreeze, it's not loosing coolant, and it only happens after a rain. Everything appears to be sealing properly, but I know something is not. Any ideas?

  • What the heck just happened?

I haven't been on Yahoo answers in a while, and I was just scrolling along through questions and randomly answering them here and there, and then my page reloaded and all the questions at the top were from 2 weeks ago or longer with a million answers. I hit reload, went to settings and nothing is fixing it. I was on the answer section too, not discover. Is this a glitch?

  • Why will my questions not post?

I have been trying to ask a question twice now, and it will not post. It shows it does on my profile, but when I go to the category, it's not there. I don't know if this will post either, but if it does, does anyone know what's going on?

  • Can I get a title for this truck?

My brother bought some land with a truck setting on it. He informed the previous owner and she didn t want it. She has since passed away and the truck was last registered to her husband, who is also dead now. The title is who knows where now. Her kids didnt want it either. It is a 1978 truck, so it s old. How would I get the title if my brother gives it to me to restore? This is in the state of Oklahoma if that helps.

  • Need help figuring out what is wrong with my 1998 ford ranger?

I have a 1998 ford ranger 3.0l 4wd. Anyways, I drove it home and it wouldn't start the next day. So, I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and it was 0psi. So, I pulled the bed off right quick and checked the voltage to the pump. The first pin had 5v, middle pin has 0v, and the last pin had 5v. I checked the relay and it was good....any ideas on where else to look?

  • 4wd cv axles delima?

My truck is a 2000 ford ranger 4wd. I have rebuilt it from the ground up. Everything is new in the front-end. I have put a 3 inch body lift and a 1 and a half inch suspension lift on it. I did everything the proper way. It drives nice, but I have noticed that the cv axles are at a sharp angle due to the lift.... My solution would be to drop the front differential down an inch and a half to put them back at factory angles and keep my ride height. However, I am unable to find any aftermarket components to do it on a ranger. I can probably make some brackets, but thought I would ask here first to see if anyone on here has had this issue and what they did to fix it.

  • Welding on a 1996 ford explorer axle?

I am needing to relocate the shock mounts and leaf spring perches on a 1996 ford explorer axle. Can I simply weld them back on in a different spot, or do I need to preheat the surface before welding? What material is the axle tube made out of? It appears to be just steal, but I know the pot is cast. Anyways, i just needing someone's opinion before I started welding.

  • I have trouble sleeping, any ideas?

I have trouble getting my mind to shut down at night. My thoughts go 90 miles an hour when I lay down to sleep. Then I get up and read or watch tv to distract my thoughts, and after many hours of up and down, I finally just pass out. I have tried sleeping pills, and they make me very sleepy, but still my mind keeps racing with ideas, daydreams, and things I am going to do the next day. Any ideas on how I can get my brain to shut off?

  • If the old testament of the bible is correct, then why is there no mention of God in pre Christian dialog?

Christianity is a baby compared to much older religions, like hinduism. I would think their would be some mention somewhere of an all powerful being intervening with "pagan" indevors. Maybe a picture on a wall or something somewhere. But to me, it seems like he just appeared right when Christianity started.
