What's more addictive - Alcohol or Nicotine?
I wonder because I don't habitually use tobacco. However, I've used it frequently over the last few years - but ONLY when I drink. The thought of it sober is sickening, of no interest, and when I smell cigarette smoke I have to leave the room. I get no cravings and it isn't even a thought until I have a drink or two.
Now the reason I use tobacco is generally to offset the drowsiness of drinking. Nicotine makes you more alert. But I've used it a lot, I'm a frequent drinker (stopping because I feel I drink too often) so every time I drink I crave nicotine. My brother is a habitually smoker. Smokes as soon as he wakes up, ect. There have been episodes where I've smoked several cigarettes in one night. Then go a month without even a thought of it until I drink.
So what's more addictive? I was always told nicotine is highly addictive but drinking is way more appealing. And I can't stress enough how I HATE the idea of using tobacco sober ... There isn't even a thought that crosses my mind.
7 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits6 years agoIngrown hair on mustache and chin.?
So last week I shaved with a dull razor before work. It pulled so bad I said f it and didn't finish until I got to work (we have razors they have us use if we aren't fully shaved) So my upper lip which has the thickest hairs broke out but it was like a "deep" pimple that is under the skin so I assumed it was an ingrown due to using a crap razor.
Each morning my lip has swollen in the spot it hurts the most before I go to bed. Which is fine but I can't go to work that way. And I can't go to work with pimples like that but each time I pop it it comes back.
So how do you get rid of ingrowns on your face? There's too many hairs to rip your mustache off.
2 AnswersHair7 years agoHairy arms and legs, hardly any body hair?
My dad was adopted. I have overly hairy legs and have noticed hairy arms at 23. However I have barely any body hair and can't grow a full beard. Does anyone know what orientation this related to?
2 AnswersHair7 years agoI don't enjoy head, anyone else?
When I say I don't enjoy head girls are baffled. "Every guy LOVES head, weird.". Don't get me wrong, I love sex, anal, eating out, ect. I love it all. But to stand there while a girl works her neck off to make me ejaculate ... They've got 30 minutes ahead of them. And you know why? The stigma.
I grew up as a teen thinking girls "hated" sex. Like it was forced upon them. They had to do it. And I thought that for the longest time based on how most girls are so conservative and movies. And the " complaints" on giving head.
I love turning a girl on, I ejaculate faster doing stuff to make that happen. So when they're giving me head, unless we 69, I'm powerless to make that happen. So is it the stigma or what turns me on that makes me not enjoy it? Some girls say "oh I love it" which makes me relax more but it still takes forever ... Am I the only one?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoHow do I live with ADHD without taking medication?
I don't have health insurance and have never been diagnosed with ADHD. Mostly because when I was younger my parents didn't believe in stuff like that and either did I. I thought it was something you just delt with. But now that I'm older it's affecting me on a very serious scale. Here are things I deal with on a regular basis.
I rock, back and forth, when I'm seated. I can't sit still, and it's something that calms me. I look like a crazy person but I don't even realize it unless someone points it out. I just cant sit still. I'll be at a friends house with my shoes on and a backpack and walking back and forth while everyone is seated and I constantly get asked "are you going somewhere?" I'm not. But I just hate to sit. I get anxious, It's like turrets but instead of blurting out things I just have to move, always. People even tell me I make them nervous but I don't even realize how awkward I look.
I get bored often. Always. I always want to do SOMETHING and when people I'm with can't figure out what we're going to do I just get frustrated. I also have a "one-track" mind. Meaning if we finally figure out what we're doing I'm 100 percent commited. But if we are on the way to do something and someone suggests something else I get irritated. It's like we FINALLY decided to do something, we are on the way, and now you want to do something else?? It drives me crazy.
I also have modes where I turn everything around. I make goals and plans and I do them, but it only lasts for about a month before I get bored with it. I start slacking or doing other things. Even with new jobs. When I get a new job I'm there early for like the first month, working my *** off. But after that month I start showing up late, or taking off. I go from excited to literally dreading it. Like I'd literally do ANYTHING else than go to work. And when I'm at work I find myself going to the bathroom like 20 times. Just to relax. And I feel soooo tired while I'm at work, but as soon as I get off it's like I'm energized again.
I feel like I'm lazy, but i'm not. I'm very dedicated when I put my mind to it. And what's worse I KNOW what to do, it's just so hard to drive myself to do it. I stay awake at night making plans of how I'm going to change it, but when the day starts I'm so exhausted. And it frustrates me to no end.
What do I do? I don't have health insurance, and even when I feel like applying for even that it's hard to drive myself to, especially since I'm also bad with money. Go figure. I'm driving myself insane ... INSANE. Help? Anyone? Thanks.
2 AnswersMedicine7 years agoWhat experience do celebs have before their big break?
If you look on IMDB, many of the celebs that didn't start at a young age (under 20) just randomly appeared in a film or a tv show.
Currently I'm looking to build a very extensive resume, so I'm booking as many gigs within reason that I can find (commercials, shorts, ect) but I'm wondering where all the celebs started? Did they appear in shorts and commercials to begin with?
I know a lot of big hollywood stars used to do commercials, but I don't really see any shorts for any of them, at least not for ages 20 and up. So what did they do? What experience did they have? I know agencies help you book the big auditions but I'm sure when it comes to big budget tv shows and films they're probably looking for at least a little bit of a background, I'm sure a few high school plays don't cut it.
So does anyone know anything on this? Or where I could see some big celebs that didn't start out in films or tv shows until their 20's that starred in short films? Or independent films, ect. What experience do they have, and is it extensive? Or is it simply ... luck of the draw?
1 AnswerTheater & Acting9 years agoIs evolution an argument against creationism?
Creationism was originally an argument against evolution was it not? But then again the argument was used to support Biblical scriptures and falsify evolution. But if evolution is an ABSOLUTE fact (not a scientific fact - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fact) how does that disprove creationism, or make it even an argument against it? They aren't polar opposites of one another.
For instance scientists are trying to replicate the process of inorganic material into a "proto-cell" which will evolve into a form of life and allow the process of evolution to be observed. However, if scientists were to replicate the origin of life and create a process in which inorganic material became living would that not make the argument for creationism valid? Is that not a higher intelligence creating the process of life from non-living to living? In fact, that would make creationism a more valid argument than life arising out of the blue/ on its own. As the creation of life is observable, testable, repeatable, but life arising by itself is not.
Now this has NOTHING to do with the "religious" God. Evolution would potentially disprove Biblical claims, but not unbiased claims of creationism. Evolution can explain the transition from species to species over a period of time through mutations but if an experiment can validate that this process can be CREATED and replicated, whether different organisms or species arrive, still supports the idea?
I mean if we were created by intelligence of our kind a billion plus years ago who's to say that what created us hasn't evolved to, and prevented the acknowledge of their existence from us? And who's to say, that if we create life, that we can't do the same?
Anyways this just requires a yes or no answer. No opinionated or "googled" explanations are necessary. Thanks.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoEvolution, how does it make sense?
How does evolution make any sense? Even natural selections doesn't make sense.
On paper yea it seems logical, but if you go deeper ... it does not. What does evolving truly mean? If evolving is to better yourself, become more efficient, why does it seem as though life has done the opposite? Why is there even a need to evolve in the first place? If evolution is based on survival then why would we not still be microorganisms, granted evolution is relevant? Obviously as a microorganism we could survive with nothing in any condition/atmosphere. So why would we develop features that would do the opposite and make us inefficient?
We can't survive without lungs, a brain, or a heart now so how could we have survived without them before? And if some how we survived without them why would we have developed them? Same with a conscience. If anything a conscience goes against survival, or has very little to do with it. People commit suicide every day based on conscious decisions, as well as abort their offspring among other things. These all go against survival ...
You do not need a conscience to act on instinct/behavior which is what Darwins theory of evolution is all about. Yet some how we make conscious decisions on a regular bases that have nothing to do with survival, like what our favorite color is or what football team we like. This all makes evolution make less and less sense.
So can anyone tell me how evolution DOES make sense? ...
5 AnswersAnthropology10 years agoI get emotionless and almost "evil" during relationship arguments, what's wrong?
I've always found myself getting in these practically emotionless states when I get upset with a girlfriend. I've tried for years to control it, and I have, but only to an extent. I use to say or do hurtful things intentionally (not physical) to upset them, like really low blow things that I KNOW will hurt them emotionally pretty bad. But now it's boiled down to where I just don't say or do anything, because I know what's going to come out of my mouth wont be nice. But the feeling I get is still the same, and I don't know what it is.
This feeling I can't control, it's not something I can just "snap out of". I sit there just staring into space not wanting to talk or say anything. I don't really feel mad though, it's not the "normal" mad feeling you'd get if you were pissed off. And I can't feel sympathy for the person I'm with, even if they're balling their eyes out and I know it's because of me. I'll just sit there, almost waiting for them to say the right thing, as if there's a magic word I'm waiting to hear.
The ONLY things that can help me get over the mood I get in is if the person pretends I'm not even upset at all. In fact, the happier and nicer they act towards me, the quicker I start to feel better. Girls I've told and who understand do this pretty easily, but sometimes it's hard just because in most cases we're both upset so they can't just act happy, but that helps. If not that, then either leaving and doing something to take my mind off of it for a bit, or just a long period of time.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I mean I would imagine it's not normal. Now don't get me wrong, this doesn't happen EVERYTIME I get upset with someone, it's actually a rarity. But it happens often enough and is such a specific feeling that I know it can't be normal and want to find out what it could be. The bottom line is - I get upset ... I shut down ... and the more upset the other person gets ... the more it "feeds" this emotion I have ... and the longer it takes me to recover. Any ideas? Good luck.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoIf you have a motorcycle license but not a motorcycle, do you have to pay insurance?
My parents don't want to let me get my motorcycle permit because of the insurance. However ... if I got the permit, I would not be buying a bike, I would be riding someone elses ... occassionally. It's basically just to learn to ride until I turn 18. So ... would I have to pay insurance with just a permit, even if I didn't have a bike? (BTW, the bike I would be riding is insured, and I already have my drivers license)
