All the exterior trim of my house (doors, windows, porch railing etc.) is painted white and it gets some kind of black dirt or grime on it. It comes off with a little bit of soap, water, and scrubbing, but it comes back after a few weeks. Its not mold, its just some kind of dirt and I can't figure out where its coming from and why its on my house.

When the heat or air is turned on in my car there is a clicking/knocking sound that comes from underneath the glovebox where the heater core and all that stuff is. The only time it doesn't make this sound is when you turn the ventilation dial to the recirculate option. What is this sound and how do you fix it?

I want to mount the electrical box to the wall on the outside of my house. The box is a metal box that came with two mounting lugs but I'm not sure what to do with them or how to use them to mount the box.

I have a pull string light I want to wire up but it only has leads for the hot and neutral wire. It does not have a lead for a ground wire. I have 12/2 wire with a ground in my house and I need to know what to do with the ground wire since I have no where on the pull string light to ground it to.

I have a 2004 Chevy Cavalier and when I turn on the bright lights the little indicator light on the dash doesn't light up. Every other light, gauge, and indicator light work fine, but for some reason the bright light indicator doesn't come on at all. Why is this?

The speedometer on my 1990 Chevy pickup doesn't work until you get the truck up to about 10mph, then it jumps up to 10mph and starts working fine. I had a problem before where it didn't work at all, which I fixed by replacing the fuse. I don't understand why it only works after 10mph, that's just strange.

I have a Sony Xplod cd player in my truck that is about 7 or 8 years old. Up until now it has worked perfectly fine, but now for some reason when in CD mode it goes completly mute when you turn the volume a little up or down. The displays shows that the song is still playing but it is completly mute. It does not do this in radio mode at all. It works fine in radio mode and when you switch from radio to cd the cd works fine until the first time you touch the volume. This is really confusing and I don't understand. Any help would be appreciated.

I need to know if 16 feet is too much distance between 2 columns on a porch that is 34 feet long. I was hoping to use only four columns with one on each side of the stairs and one on each end. The door is off center so that would leave 12 feet between two columns on one side and 16 feet between the other two. Would that be ok or would I need an extra column?

I am wanting to go to school to be a pharmacist and am currently finishing up my required pre-pharmacy courses and am almost ready to transfer to the college of pharmacy. I have done and am doing fairly well in my pre-pharmacy courses and am wondering if pharmacy school is about the same difficulty as the pre-pharmacy courses or if it is much harder.

I have a Cavalier with an automatic transmission. When first starting the engine in the morning it idles relatively high at about 1200 rpm when it should be about 500. When I start to drive it shifts hard from first to second shift and you can really feel it shifting. It also shifts rough from second to third but not as hard. Once the engine warms up it idles at normal speed and does not shift hard. I tried to check the tranny fluid but there is no dipstick to check it with. Could it be a low level of tranny fluid causing the rough shifting or is it something to do with the high idle, like the throttle position sensor or something?
