I need advice on how to get toffee-like candy out of a glass dish without breaking said dish. I totally forgot to use parchment paper when pouring the candy, and it didn't occur to me until that moment that I should have used a metal pan instead. Has this happened to anyone before, and if so, do you know how to remove the candy? Thanks in advance!

My husband and I were talking about names for future children (not expecting, though!) We have one son already, whose name is Daniel. Well, no girl names have come to us yet, but we both agree if we ever have another boy, we like the name Silas, but have no idea for a middle name. If possible, we would like to be 2 syllables. Any & all suggestions would be helpful!

My husband's extended family does a name drawing every Christmas,and this year, gifts are to be homemade. I love doing simple crafts, but am used to doing stuff aimed for kids (a la Bible School, etc). I need some interesting craft/gift ideas that are simple but nice enough to give to another adult. I'm game for anything but sewing (beyond simple stitching). The more creative, the better! Names drawn are for women in their 30s (hubby needs ideas too, lol). Thanks!

My husband and I have been renting the same apartment for about 2 1/2 years. During this time, the owner of our 4-plex (who lives several states away) has gone through no less than 4 different managers/maintenece people. When we moved in, we were told that the screens in the windows would be fixed (only one window had a screen), the closet doors in the small bedroom (now our son's room) would be replaced (as they fell off of the track easily), among a whole other list of things. On each item, we have had to call the maintence personnel countless times to come and fix anything. Last week, when temperatures began to fall, we tried to turn on the heat, and nothing happened. My husband contacted maintenece, and they told us to fix it ourselves. My husband tried, and was unable to solve the problem. He has since been trying to get through to the maintence man, but has had no luck. The owner has not been much help at all this time. In the past, we have learned that the current maintence man has lied to the owner on numerous occasions; not just about our unit, but others as well. I emailed the owner, telling him our baby is sick (he is), but have not heard a reply. It is getting down into the 30s (Farinheit) at night. We need heat. I would also like everything else fixed as well.

I'm trying to get a jump-start on my holiday projects. Here's what I need help with. I plan on taking empty formula cans (Enfamil brand, mostly) and using them as gift containers for homemade candy for Christmas. I am going to use wrapping paper to cover the sides, and then use cellophane for the inside too keep the candy fresh (of course, the candy part won't be done until December, lol). My question is, what would be the recommended type of glue/adhesive to use to apply the wrapping paper to the canisters? Would hot glue, rubber cement, or regular craft glue be the best option, in order to keep them from looking sloppy? Thanks in advance :-)

I'm trying to find restaurants in Kansas City for Valentine's Day that are:

1. Moderate Priced (husband & I would prefer to keep the bill under $50)

2. Not a chain (multiple locations w/in just the Kansas City area are fine)

3. We don't care what part of the metro it's in, we live in North Kansas City, but if the place sounds good enough, we'll go to Johnson County, etc.
