  • Can't decide between two high school classes?! Help!! ?

Im a 9th grader (freshman) in high school and I am schduleing my classes for next year. However, I have one empty semester still. I do not want to take a study hall because I am in one now and I do not like it. I am trying to decide wether to take a photojournalism class or a cooking class (begining nutrition and wellness). I could also take a printmaking class (art), but I'm not sure how good I will be at that. I already asked my parents but they are no help. Does anyone have any ideas on which one I should take?! Help please!! Thank you :)

  • ACTHA- American Competitive Trail Horse Association?

My Grandma and I were interested in the American Competitive Trail Horse Association and their rides. We were wondering if anyone had done one of these rides before, or had any more information on them. If you have went to one before I would appreciate it if you could explain exactly what you did on the ride. Thank you! :)

  • How can i get weight off my horse fast?

Okay so i have a 13 year old haflinger mare. She has been overweight for a while, and last summer i did get some weight off of her. However, over the winter she gained back all of that weight. During the summer i show her and we go on a trail ride every 1 or 2 weeks. She normally doesn't canter, but every time i ride im working on getting her to canter without much effort from me. Because of this we cant have a work out plan that involves to much cantering. Please help me get my horse back into shape so she can lead a healthy life. :)

  • Any training advice on showmanship pivots?

I started showing my 13 year old Haflinger mare last summer. One of the classes i enjoy is showmanship, however we have had trouble with the pivot. At the very start of the summer I tried to teach her how to pivot and she had an okay pivot. A couple months later we went to our county fair and i entered her in a showmanship class. I had practiced her pivot with her for what seemed like hours but the more that i tried to perfect it, the worse that it ended up getting. She now doesn't pivot at all. Does anyone have any advice as to how i should go about teaching her how to pivot?

  • Does anyone have advice for cantering?

I have a 13 year old Haflinger mare named Rosie. We got her almost 7 years ago, and i have been riding her ever since. When we went to pick her up from her owner we let the guy have one last quick ride. He got on her and had her cantering within 30 seconds. I did not ever ask her for a canter until about six months ago. After trying and trying for days i finally got a few strides of a canter out of her, but i had to start riding with a crop to get it. However, when i ride with the crop she does not relax and her canter is way to fast. Does anyone have any advice or tips for me?

  • What names go with Jasmine?

I just adopted two cats from the local animal shelter today. One cat is all gray and the other is gray and white. We would like to call the all gray cat Jasmine because she really does look like a Jasmine. Please help me find another name for a gray and white cat that would go with Jasmine! Thank you.
