I ask this because my father served in ww2 at the age of 30. I've always seemed to think that these men were older when drafted in comparison to their vietnam counterparts.

i write this because i believe in today's United States, we are doing more harm than good by having such a large government with so much division. The original Articles helped prevent the war debt from being paid off and therefore had tax complications, but if States could operate as they did as a Confederation i believe progress could be fulfilled.

It would certainly answer the debate over smaller government, and smaller governments are easier to control mind you.

I believe it is worth a try. The European Union is an example of the modern Articles. Yes it faces problems, but has the largest economy in the world, lowest rates of poverty, highest household median income, and some of the best education available. These are certainly admirable qualities. Especially among those with different and similar ideology

A nephew of mine has been charged with Statutory rape in New York state. He is twenty years of age, and the girl is sixteen. This is his first criminal offense in his life, and i would really like to know if this charge (if not dropped) will be permanently on his record. What can be the consequences such as prison time etc etc, and if convicted what then can be done?

I know it will not and does not matter in the eyes of the law, but the lady my nephew has been intimate with does not look in the least sixteen years of age. And that is what bothers me about what is called Statutory rape.

The Stasi or the KGB?

A very good friend of mine Artiom discussed with me his experiences in the Soviet Union and expressed that the Stasi was much more restrictive and ruthless than the KGB could ever be.

One of the main reasons i found for the "failure" of the Articles was because of the national debt, different currencies, and no strong standing army. When the independence was successful the colonies needed strength through unity, but if the states had that strength the Constitutional convention most likely would not have been needed.

Whenever one is to read American History it always appears that many Americans of the 18th and 19th century spirit were more organized, participated far more in government, and were more revolutionary. Even with the effects of Lobbying back then, it appears that Americans fought more and harsher if something they fought for did not go through in congress.

The reason why I ask this is because many critics of socialism point to Switzerland as an example of how successful the capitalist country is doing. Yet upon visiting many times i have noticed that yes, Switzerland has a strong capitalist economy, but has very tough government regulations in place, that have are there to prevent exploitation, lower pay etc. I have also found that their healthcare system, which is universal is both private and public, and has dozens of health insurance companies to choose from to reduce, the competition between companies and make sure all of the people are provided for, if a citizen does not buy healthcare, the government does so for them, and sends the citizen a bill.

These are just some of the few that i have listed. Each of them has one thing in common, and that is the preaching of the working class coming to power. For better futures because of the "people," and even labeling certain organizations starting with the "people." All of these ruthless human oppressors intentionally used the left as an attraction for followers, but only had power in mind for themselves and the "Elite" those with tremendous wealth, or inherited power. All forms of right wing government are oppressive. Some may bring up Communist Russia, but historians and political scientists will say something completely different on the subject. Communism is supposed to be about democracy, not Oligarchical capitalists that control every aspect of life in the entire country.

Once each regime was in power, they began to attack the real fighters for human rights and people power, by labeling them as "socialists, or communists," and as the real danger to the New government. Slowly those that fought the New government went missing, press was restricted, and military power was seized for the "people's protection." But in reality it was and has always been a lie.

To this day the North Korean ruling class still label their country as the Democratic People's Republic. And still preach of the power of the working class and of the great leader. Even Soviet Russia followed suit. Labels such as the people's army, and the people's bank etc.

Is this not concerning in American politics? Preaching less government, and yet government gets bigger. Security for our safety, yet the government refuses and provides no evidence of danger....
