It looks like the stuff on suicide bomber vests is C4. and don't terrorists often use stuff like C4 in bombings? i thought it would be really hard to synthesize that stuff, but who would they buy it from? could a black market guy get his hands on something that's only sold for a military application?

...on some kind of instant messenger service (skype, blackberry messenger, facebook chat, aim, etc) and then after a line or two they stop talking? it feels awkward to just let the conversation die after a few seconds but sometimes i'm busy or distracted or just have nothing to say to them, so i just let it go.

why would somebody message you like that (the equivalent of starting a conversation) if they don't really intend to talk to you? it's not like a text or something.

What would happen if you found out that your beliefs about God were wrong? Religious, atheist, agnostic, whatever. Would you behave differently? Would your outlook on life change? Or your view of death? Would it change you at all?

over the past few years i've had the same dream several times (maybe 8-12). i'll get it every few months. i'm standing in the road and a car, usually an SUV, is coming towards me. i feel like i can't get out the way and when i try to move, i either can't move at all or i move very slowly, like i'm walking through syrup. if i move the car turns and still hits me, and the dream ends as soon as the car gets to me. i sometimes wake up at this point but not always. what could this mean?

What would bethe easiest way to go (I'm looking for train routes but any suggestions would be helpful). Thanks.

I'm not being judgmental or anything. I'm honestly curious. If you don't believe that there's anything like absolute moral code or good or evil, how do you decide which behaviors are ok and, more importantly, why is morality even relevant?

Please don't answer if you're religious unless you have something useful to say

a) They reveal their true selves because their inhibitions are lowered, or

b) They act the way they do solely because of the influence of the drug (alcohol or otherwise).

Bonus - how much faith would you put in something that a person told you while under the influence? Would you think it's more likely to be a random lie or a secret they only revealed because they weren't thinking clearly?

i was talking to someone who insisted that Saladin wasn't Muslim at all, he was a pagan who was allowed to rule the Muslims because he was such a great leader. i don't believe it, and i can't find ANY evidence of this anywhere. is there any source anywhere which even suggests that he was a pagan?

ignoring the hunter-gatherer tribes in the jungle, are there any customs that every culture in the world follow?

i know that you can't sell home made beer or wine, but if you make a liqueur or infusion using store-bought materials, can you legally sell it? and do you have to be an official business like a restaurant or bar in order to get a liquor license?

I have a lot of left over rum from the summer that I want to get rid of. It's the cheap stuff that's only suitable for mixing. I've tried it with coke and didn't like it. Any recipes to make it more drinkable? Nothing fancy or complicated, just a good mixer.
