Conservative Jew from Northern suburbs of Chicago. I currently go to Ohio University and am working towards two degrees, one in Journalism (with a specialization in Political Science) and Political Science (emphasizing world governments). I love camping, biking and the outdoors in general. But I really love movies (horror to be specific). Nothing is more fun to me than seeing a truly terrifying movie with some of my closest friends.

  • Do law schools look at major-specific GPA in addition to cumulative GPA?

My major-specific GPA is much higher than my cumulative, will that play any kind of a role in the decision process?

  • How do I make ringtones for my iPhone?

I recently bought an iPhone and wanted to know how I can cut songs to make them into ringtones. Is this possible? If not, where can I find new ringtones to download?

  • Where can I find apartments to rent outside of Washington D.C.?

I am moving to D.C. in a couple of months and am searching for apartments. I've been looking for apartments in the D.C. metro area but they are crazy expensive. Any suggestions for finding apartments close to D.C.?

  • How does one become a friend 'with benefits'?

So there is this girl that I've known since freshman year of college. I really am feeling a strong attraction to her, but I'm not sure I want to start a relationship. How do you start 'just fooling around' with a friend? This may sound really simple, but I don't know where to start. Do I casually drop the idea of sex into a conversation? And how does one just casually drop sex into any conversation?

    I'm sorry, but I'm a freakin mess!

  • Anyone know of any good cheap walking tours in London?

I'm heading over to London (currently in Cardiff for three months) next week and want to do a walking tour. While I was in Rome I did this great tour that was actually free (you paid in tips) and was hoping there might be something similar. I love the supernatural and scary stuff so I would love to see a 'Haunted London' or maybe something that details Jack the Ripper. Does anyone know of any websites for guided tours?

I would also be willing to maybe download something onto my ipod if anyone had any suggestions. I have heard of people downloading a podcast and then having a map that takes them from place to place.

  • Is there any way I can access my voicemail remotely?

I'm living in Europe right now, but I want to check my voicemail for my phone still. Is there any way I can do this remotely so I don't have to pay for roaming in Europe?

  • Fun things to do in Rome on Halloween?

My sister and I are travelling to Rome this year for 9 days. She leaves the day of Halloween, but my flight isn't until the 1st of November. I love the holiday back in the States and was wondering if there are any fun or interesting things I should try and see when I'm in Rome. I know the holiday is very different here in Europe, but I'm just curious. Thanks!

  • How do I know what kind of entertainment my flight will have?

I'm flying to London next month from Washington D.C. and I was just curious how I can find out what type of entertainment there will be. This may seem like a stupid question, but I'm curious in case I get tired of reading the books I'm bringing with,

I've been on the airline website (united.com) and all it tells me is that there will be a movie.

I know that some international flights have personal tvs in the seats, so I'm just curious if anyone knows whether or not it's possible to find out if your flight has such a feature.

  • When is it the right time to put a dog down?

My dog is sixteen years old and means the world to me. I love her more than I could possibly imagine. But lately, I've noticed her health has begun to slowly decline. She has trouble standing up and sometimes collapses under her own weight. She isn't eating very much and I've noticed a slight decline in her weight.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but I feel as if the only humane thing to do is to put her down. Should I talk to my family about putting her down, or should I wait to see if she gets better?

  • Why do deaf people talk strange?

I apologize if this sounds rude, my roommate is completely deaf and he talks strange. I feel bad asking him, because I feel as if it's insulting him. What is the reason that deaf people talk weird?

  • When is milk no longer good to drink?

I have milk in my fridge that says its expiration date (or best sold by date) is May 10 (today is May 26). The milk smells fine and hasn't curdled or anything. Is it no longer good considering that it's been more than 2 weeks?

I know this seems like a stupid question, but I don't feel like wasting perfectly good milk.

  • What is the reason for Same-Sex Marriage picking up a lot of steam?

I'm thrilled that states are beginning to recognize the rights of gay people, but it feels as though since Obama became President many states have begun passing legislation recognizing same-sex marriage.

    A few examples:

    Maine

    Massachusets

    Iowa

    Conneticut

    Vermont

Washington D.C. (not a state, but still counted)

Is there any rhyme or reason why this movement has picked up so much steam? Is it because there is a Democrat in the White House?

  • How many (and which) countries have now walked out of Durban II?

I read today that after the president of Iran began blaming world problems on Israel and Zionists, many diplomats (I believe the number that was reported was as high as 80) walked out of the conference.

The countries that I know for sure have boycotted this meeting are:

    Canada

    United States

    Australia

    Israel

    Netherlands

    Germany

    Poland

But what other countries are now boycotting this meeting?

  • Is Europe still safe for Jews?

I'm going to be studying abroad in Wales next fall. Recently, I've begun hearing a lot of talk about the number of anti-semitic incidents rising sharply, especially in Great Britain. As a practicing American Jew, should I be concerned about my trip? I have no plans to cancel this because it's really a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I wonder what some other peoples' opinions are.

  • Christians: When will you see that you follow a false messiah?

Ok, so do you see how ridiculous that sounds to you? I speak for most (if not all Jews) on Y!A when I demand that Christians stop asking why we don't believe in Jesus.

Here's a hint: HE'S NOT PART OF OUR RELIGION

    Have a wonderful day!

  • Where to celebrate my 21st in Chicago?

My 21st birthday is this weekend (Saturday!) and I'm looking at different restaurants to eat dinner at before we go to a show at Improv Olympics. Any suggestions?

I originally wanted to stay in Wrigleyville, but I'm thinking I should expand my search horizons.

I really want to go somewhere fun, but relatively reasonable for my friends and myself.

  • Welsh Government question?

I'm going to work for the Welsh Assembly next fall and I was wondering if some English people (or preferably Welsh) could help me decide which party to work for. The program is great because they let us decide which party to work for, but I'm not sure which one I want to spend my time with.

A little background on me, I'm 21 years old and very liberal. I am strongly in support of things such as civil and human rights. I have a strong desire to go to law school and become a public defender in my home city of Chicago.

If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it. I know a little about the Welsh parties but I'd love to know more!
