Is a 3 Hour School Detention Legal/Unethical In Any Way AT ALL? I got detention for having my cell phone out (third offense) but thats beyond the fact, don't answer if you are going to say "well you shouldn't have had your cell phone out..," ect... In the detention you have to sit there and face the wall. Can't talk, play games, no ipod, no newspaper, ect... LIterally sitting there and staring at a wall for 3 hours. Is this legal?
