Seriously. I really am tired. someone tell me a bedtime story....

In the past, my tuberous begonias thrived, and I brought them back the following year. Then I moved.... and now I am back. and trying my begonias again. I love them.

so,Last Year, my $20 tubers rotted in the wet pots. This year, I am trying something different. No water until they start growing (and dramatically).

Any other ideas? Please?

I suppose I can just buy some already growing at the stores, but then I can't get the amazing special ones from the catalogs

My 'garden' is a balcony, sunny from 3-5PM, and covered for most of the day by the apt. upstairs.

My pots do not have drainage, becuase I travel for work -alot!- and this helps when the plants are a bit bigger.

Wiccans -- help me understand these omens.?

This AM: woke up and the mirror above the just-vacated bed (flew out this AM) was shattered onto the dresser. (Frame broke)

This PM:

3 hours, 3 visitations by a falcon.

1: eating its prey on the car next to my parking space, flew into the trees when I got out of my car.

2: swirling feathers as I stepped out of my house (front door)

3: again-- hawk eating its prey, this time on the opposite side of the house.

End of day: discussing the omens, the light over our deceased frieinds picture goes out. As we say "I wonder if she is involved" it goes back on.

What does all this mean?

I got mail order tubers (small, maybe 2 inches diameter max) and they are struggling to sprout. One has already rotted away. I didn't plant them under the soil, becuase that has always led to rot. Some are just starting to grow (maybe 1/4 inch at max) but many are either still dormant or might be on the way to dieing. When they get big, they will do great here, I have had them in hte past, but this year is awful tough.

Whether its here or in bookstores, have you noticed that gay/lesbian is always 'next' to the religious section?

I mean, lets be honest-- its a bit of oil and vinegar...

But we are side by side all the time. Is it an attempt to provoke or force interactions between us? Are they "trying to heal the rift"? Or is it just bad luck? Why is it. Is it deliberate? Is it just chance-or bad luck or something else.

Can't they find some other way to categorize religion and gay/lesbian?

I don't get it.....
