Is it a deliberate attempt to provoke conflict?

Whether its here or in bookstores, have you noticed that gay/lesbian is always 'next' to the religious section?

I mean, lets be honest-- its a bit of oil and vinegar...

But we are side by side all the time. Is it an attempt to provoke or force interactions between us? Are they "trying to heal the rift"? Or is it just bad luck? Why is it. Is it deliberate? Is it just chance-or bad luck or something else.

Can't they find some other way to categorize religion and gay/lesbian?

I don't get it.....

OK - bring it people.

Update:

Oh, and no, I'm not a homophobe. Not even aself-hating closeted homosexual. I have been with my lover for 14 years and am considered a radical homosexual by Christians because we are getting married...

Update 2:

I love the contradictions. Never really noticed the inspirational stuff is exclusively Christian.

I don't know if it's intentional or not - but have you ever noticed, as well, that the "Inspirational" section of the bookstore only have books about Christianity?

It could have something to do with the LOC classifications of books. I have not noticed the two sections being next to each other, but I will take notice next time I go to the bookstore.

It's kind of like the large women's clothing section being in the back of the store, past the Maternity section.

Maybe the bookstores feel it's a belief being gay or lesbian so it needs to be with other beliefs.

yeah, i asked he same question...

I thought the Yahoo people were just having some fun. I never noticed in bookshops.

Some might also ask why religion and spirituality are grouped together as well. They often seem quite antipathetic too.
