Diversity often brings about images of various races embracing each other and behaving as one collective body. Diversity however, is not merely an outward appearance for it involves many other factors. If diversity is measured solely based on racial terms, the people in a room may be of different races but may all have similar backgrounds in terms of socio-economic levels, where in the country they come from, or have similar interests. While this may be helpful to the students in terms of building friendships, it does not make for a vibrant, dynamic community where ideas can be readily exchanged and debated. Diversity requires an influx of ideas, points of views, and interests to serve a meaningful purpose. In order to maintain this state of being, many types of people must be involved otherwise the community becomes stale.

Diversity is often defined in racial terms; black or white, Asian or Hispanic, but there is a whole dearth of information left out if diversity is observed solely through this narrow lens. There are obvious differences in people such as their height, hair and eye color but these aspects generally paint a very two dimensional picture of what the person is really like.

People have layers and looking solely at the surface leaves you with only the top and nothing underneath; nothing to tell you the person’s quirks and traits. However, with each successive layer you peel back, more of the person is revealed. Take the Mona Lisa for example, the outermost layer of paint gives the viewer an idea of the Mona Lisa’s complexion. If this was the end of the painting, the Mona Lisa would have very little depth, feeling, or emotion to it.

My head snapped up at the sound of my name, removing my nose from its comfortable place within the pages of the book I was reading. I scanned the room for the source of the sound and saw my soon to be dead friend anxiously looking at me. As I glared at her, the others in the room asked if it was true. I opened my mouth but before I could say anything my friend “let it slip” that I’d been in chorus from third to eighth grade. I had no choice but to go over to one of the leaders of the group and “listen” as he told me to come up with a song I knew and sing it in twenty minutes while I silently plotted my revenge instead.

I mean it was just SO GOOD!!!!!!!!! I gained a much greater appreciation for the water benders after seeing this especially when the crazy lady was teaching katara the more normal stuff.

Then I started thinking about the possibilities. Katara can not only control people she could very well kill them without much effort. I mean just think about it instead of just moving the blood within the person she could draw it out thereby killing them. (for a visual think about X Men 2 when Magneto pulls the iron out of the guard's body) With this power she could kill the fire lord in minutes or seconds even. She could wipe out entire legions and be the key to winning the war.However, with all that she starts to sound very much like Sozun when he was willing to allow Roku to die just so that he could start a war.

It also got me thinking about Katara herself and her character .

two of my friends got their nov sat scores back today and one got a 21 and the other got a 22. its really great and im genuinely happy for them but it just brought up some issues for me. my score hasnt gone above a 19 and yet those two friends of mine think im really smart but then again i havent told them what my real score is ive just been telling them that got a 21. i did this becuz since im not the prettiest or the most talented at anything one thing besides singing but thats not gonna get me into a good college, all i do have is my intelligence and its not lik im stupid i mean im in honors/ap classes but ive just always felt inferior and this just reinforced it. the worst part is i cant tell my friends becuz ill lose the one thing ive got not to mention that ive been lying to them for a while now. i feel terrible and idk what to do especially cuz theyll b talking bout it tomarrow n the whole time im gonna hav to appear 2 b fine with it even thou im realy not cuz i didnt do it 2

In the hp 6 guant says that hes a descentadant of the peverells, and harry finds out that he descended from ignotus peverell in hp 7, does that mean harry and voldie r related?
