  • Do ants like BUTTER?

My dad and I keep arguing about this - I like to leave the butter out to keep it spreadable but he says it will attract ants.

I don't see how they possibly could carry it to their nests or whatever it is they'd do but he sure thinks so.

  • Can you add another name to your Paypal Account?

My mother and I are starting to sell items online. I wanted to use my paypal account, but the bank account we got is in my mom's name.

Is there a way for me to add her name onto the account or can I add her bank info without her name being on the PayPal account?

  • Resizing MP3 Files?

I have a bunch of MP3 files that are like, 11mbs each, and I think that seems a little excessive... Most files I have are more like 5mb.

Is there an easy way to reduce the quality/reduce the size of these files without changing their format? Preferably something automated...I hate having to open up each file and save it in a lower quality.

I'd prefer something Freeware, but I'm willing to purchase a program if it works really good.

  • Bypass Password for WinXP?

I recently got a new laptop, and am in the process of setting it up the way I like it. Unfortunately, the same day I got the laptop my cat spilled an entire glass of water on the keyboard of my desktop computer.

Is there any way for me to bypass my user account password so that I can get into my computer to access my files? Or do I just need to get a new keyboard before I can do this?

I'm desperate to get my important files out of this computer TONIGHT! >_<

  • What are the effects of Spaying your pets?

I understand WHY you should spay or neuter your pets, but what emotional changes does it bring if any?

We made the decision to get my 9 month old kitten spayed because she is having all sorts of problems when she's in heat (it lasts for days, is frequent, etc.) -- Originally I didn't want to, but I figured I have to do it at this point.

Does it change their personality? Will it mellow her out or make her more agressive?

  • Economic Stimulus Payments?

Does anyone know about the disbursment of Economic Stimulus payments? My mom and I both couldn't figure out what they ment by this:

"The Treasury Department will make payments starting in early May. Early filers, especially those who choose direct deposit, will get their payments first.

If the IRS finishes processing your return by April 15, you will most likely get your payment based on this schedule."

    Schedule is here:

    http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.htm...

I filed my taxes on 2/2, and did not direct deposit.

Does this mean I'm an early filer and should receive my payment before I would had I filed say, a week ago? Or will I get my payment when the schedule states? Because, if that's true... I'm going to be in the last round of checks because of my SS#....

    Can anyone explain this?

  • Bad/No Credit -- Credit Cards?

I'm 20 and trying to get my credit established. I think I MAY have some negatives due to a few hospital bills from last year while I had no insurance but I've heard that doesn't count as much as you'd think.

I have applied for credit cards before, but it seems like I just can't find anyone who will accept me. Is there any hope? I don't need a huge credit limit, just something I can use (and pay off each month) to help my credit.

Who should I try? Preferably not a secured credit card as I don't have extra cash to put up front!

  • Wing Making?

I am trying to find websites about making wings for a costume. Specifically, large wings. Any method works, I've seen both use of craft foam and actual feathers and I'd like see which would be the better for what I need to accomplish.

Websites with photos are a plus!

  • 18th Century Corset / Undergarment Making?

I'm looking for links about making 18th century undergarments. I know I could easily use a pattern but these aren't always accurate and I'd really like something that is closer to being accurate.

Specifically, I'd like to learn how to make a corset. Websites with photos are a HUGE plus.

  • Culture in the 60s and 70s?

    Hello,

I'm writing a novel/story/whatever that is based in the 1960s and EARLY-1970s I would like to make everything as authentic as possible...

I have grandparents who would have been the same age as my main characters at the time the story is set in, but I do not feel comfortable asking them such questions. Could anyone help me out?

I'm looking for links or just general information about pop-culture and modern living during those times.

    What was popular?

    What was the clothing style?

What were popular colleges at the time?

Additionally, what sort of sexual contraception was used at the time? What were issues with Homosexuality at the time?

Were DNA tests widely used at the time? Or is this before it's time?

What was life like in the New England states at the time?

If you were alive at the time, or have some links to share I would appreciate it!

  • The Sims 2 - Missing Textures?

I tried playing my Sims today, and noticed at first, when I was in the CAS there was a lack of windows and wall textures -- Just a blank white or gray colour with lines of code written on it.

Thinking it was possibly something I downloaded, I exited and removed all of the files from my download folder, and restarted. Then noticed in the neighborhoods there are trees missing with the same replacement of code...

Upon entering the house - Same with the trees, walls, windows and some items (Piano is one I remember off the top of my heead).

I deleted my "EA GAMES" file in my documents, uninstalled and reinstalled, and still - the same problem. So now I've updated my drivers, my Direct X, and no changes...

It worked fine the other day, nothing was missing but today? It's completely changed. I even went and restored my computer to a restore point earlier this month thinking my computer's recent updates may have caused something, but... nothing. No changes.

  • kitten poop?

I got a Kitten on thursday, she seems healthy and she's very sweet, active, friendy...

But I'm worried about her eating and pooping habits. She doesn't ever seem to poop or pee, that I know of, because she's never done it infront of me.

She's obviously pooped at some point; Because she's had it on her fur, but I was wondering what the average schedule is for young kittens. I've never had one this young, without her mom cat or my dog doing all the major caregiving. Her tummy is big but everyone says that's the normal babyfat tummy.

She's about 4-6 weeks, They told me she was 6-8 but I knew they were lying... They just wanted to get rid of the kittens... I dunno, just concerned 'cause I'm a new "mommy" and I don't have the extra cash at the moment to take her to the vet...

  • Cannot connect to the internet after removing malware/spyware?

I had a malware/spyware (not sure) called IEEXPLORER.EXE that caused popups on my computer under the guise of Internet Explorer (IE's executable file is IEXPLORE.EXE with 1 E).

I removed it using Ad-Aware 2007, or so I think? I might have removed it using HiJackThis! -- I'm pretty retarded.

Okay, so now the problem is I cannot connect to the internet via my normal account, I can through Safe-mode, but that's it.

I've scanned my computer for viruses and removed some stuff but nothing's working.

WTF is wrong? This is irritating me. Everytime I try to do a system restore it fails, it won't connect to the internet and it's got some weird Internet Gateway thing on my connections that I can't delete and was never there before...

    Help Please...

  • Tattoo - Where in location is a good idea?

I am getting my first tattoo next weekend; Shut up. I don't want to hear I'm going to regret it. I've made my decision.

But my question goes out to the real Tattoo fans; I have a concern because I'm a bit of a chicken **** and my sister says it doesn't hurt but where is a better place to get my first tattoo?

    Ankle area or Wrist?

The tattoo would only be about 3-4 inches square.
