So my daughter is 27 months. I'm not with her dad. I am married and my husband has been there for her thru everything. Her real "dad" is a dead beat. He pays his child support and his daycare when he gets job. He has one for a few months then will lose it and not get another for 6 months. He has had 4 different jobs my daughters whole life. He doesn't do anything for her. I pay EVERYTHING and I do EVERYTHING for her. My daughter calls my husband daddy and knows him as just that. Every time her dad stops paying and stops helping me I stop taking her over to his house. He could careless. When he finally get a job he acts like he is the worlds best father. He's been out of a job for 6 months now and just barely a month ago got a job at Walmart..a cart boy! ORS finally caught up with him and now he is paying for it. They also made him get insurance for my daughter. She's NEVER gone without it or anything for that matter. He complains that he has to pay for it and is mad over having to pay 182 a month in child support. He is behind sooo much right now. But he just called me and said that ORS told him that they will lower the amount of child support he owes each month because he has to pay insurance too...you find this fair? Why is he getting a break? He has to pay 245 a month!! That is it! Where's my break? I'm not complaining about paying for EVERYTHING my daughter has. I love it! She is my world. But why is a dead beat like him getting a break? I pay 245 a month in insurance alone! Not to mention all the other stuff ontop of that. I just don't get why someone like him gets a break. Here I am working my *** off every single day doing everything in my power to make sure my daughter has everything!! I hate dead beat dad's and I hate this crazy state! I just don't think it's fair! What do you think?

My husband and I have been together since I was pregnant. My daughters father is in her life, but he is a loser. (We broke up because he chose not to grow up.) He pays child support and half of everything else when he feels like it. When she is over at his house longer than his weekend..even if it is a day things get out of hand. He doesn't take care of her and leaves it to his mom. I have had to file harassment charges on him. I have everything documented. He is a deadbeat! He thinks just because she is his that he has all the rights to her. I don't feel that way. My husband and I are the ones who care for her 24/7. He does whenever it is convenient for him. He refuses to sign his rights over. My husband wants to adopt her. So my question is...Can he adopt her and the courts force him to sign his rights over if we can prove he is not a fit parent?
