My child is enrolled in an elementary public school. There is no gym to have physical education and there is no art room or program. Is this a normal thing? Do all public schools not have these features in San Diego CA?

I am moving to base housing on Ft. Sheridan. These are newly built homes, most only 2 yrs old. I am new to the area and really do not know the exact location in reference to the Wells Ravine. I have researched that there is a landfill there that is still contaminating water and land near Lake MI and I want to know if it is near to the new housing or not.

I am particularly interested in what I read about landfill area#7. Something about how the govt is still trying to figure out the best way to clean that up and protect the drinking water and lake water of Lake MI. And that the first cap didn't hold and that it has no liner.

And most importantly because it was classified as the following quote suggests: "Apparently, a decision was made to place the most toxic waste in the Wells Ravine, now called Landfill 7. This is apparent because Landfill 7 is the only site at Fort Sheridan that the US EPA considers to be Superfund National Priorities List (NPL)-caliber.

The Army never operated the landfill by using what could be considered environmentally sound methods. No high-density plastic containment liner was placed between the ravine and the waste. No IEPA permit was ever issued while the landfill was operating. The landfill never benefited from regulatory oversight until the State of Illinois commenced litigation in 1979. I would like to know what are the federal regulations on company write offs. I have an assignment and having problems finding what the actual laws are so I can write my post.

Websites or news articles would be greatly appreciated. I am not asking for you to do the assignment...I just NEED HELP finding the actual laws and regulations so I can do it on my own.

Companies are required to report whether they write off the cost value (or book value) or their inventory even if they do not dispose of the inventory. Later on, they may sell this inventory but are not required to report the sale for cash of previously "worthless" inventory. The effect may be that in future years, when the inventory is sold, profits are overstated.

Also in the article, JDS Uniphase said it will write off $250 million of its inventory but promised to disclose any future sale. On the other hand, Micron Technology, which wrote down $260 million, won't disclose any future sale (Krantz, 2001). Should the Securities and Exchange Commission do anything? Why?

my child will be 5 on OCT 16 which did not make the kindergarten deadline of age 5 by SEPT 1. He is ready to go socially and physically. I can get him tested to be an exception....which is stated on the IL schools website, but it doesn't say anything about what they must know to get in. I want to know so I can see if it is even worth it. I just moved from VA and I know their assessments but I want to know IL and I have been searching for hours now and can not find it!

Ok This is long, so thank you in advance for reading...

My 12 yr old half brother was getting into trouble when he was living with my dad. He was stealing, drinking alcohol, doing drugs(weed is all he fessed up to so far), vandalizing public property and basically not doing anything my step mom and dad told him to do. I have 2 other brothers that live with them, one is a crack addict and has been known for theft, oh and not to mention been in numerous rehabs and detention centers and he is only 17 and the other brother hasn't been to school in atleast 2 yrs and he is 16. I am sure he does other stuff, I have yet to find that out. My father works 10-12 hr shifts at work to support his family and my step mom has some mental disability so sometimes she is in the hospital. My dad and I both agreed that my 12 yr old brother would be better off living with me and my family, husband and 2 sons ages 4 an 2. We live in another state. My 12 yr old bro. decided he wanted to come and he has been here since jan. Everything was fine, I thought he was doing good in school and I signed him up for Baseball. Then it all came down and I find out he is hiding notes from his teachers that said he was failing and he is friends with trouble makers that get detention every afternoon. So my husband sat with him and the teacher and I speak once a week on his progress and he has done well. Now I find out that he is hanging out with drug dealers and trying to sell for them...what do I do?

I am now the guardian of my 12 yr. old brother and am new to the parenting of a tween.(I have a 1 and 4 year old). Should he have chores and if so what should I give him the responsibility of taking care of? I had chores and my husband did also, but my brother had no responsibility at his former house. I am just afraid he will rebel.

HELP PLEASE

I live in IL and want to send my child to private school. The public schools did not pass the state exams and stuff like that. I feel that they are not going to help my son out. If they cannot pass the bare minimum of the standards, then how can children actually learn? Private schools in the area rate higher, but they cost so much! The cheapest one is 300 a month. Can you get scholarships or financial aide for private middle and high schools?

My friend is having a boy. She is gonna name him Noah. We do not have a clue for the middle name. I said Noah James but she said it didn't flow. HELP! I Need suggestions

After a bitter separation(3months after), my friend, found a slightly younger man to date.(4 yrs younger Shes 26 and he is 22) She fell in love! Soon after(about 1 month), she had to move to another city because she could not afford to live by herself. She moved in with her parents. They lived in another state. My friend and her boyfriend had a long distance relationship for 4 months and then she moved him up where she was. Her parents said he could not stay with them, so she moved in with me. She found a job and was saving up for a car and for a down payment on an apartment. She encouraged her man to get a job. He found one but refused to keep it longer than a month due to the fact that it was a 30 min drive to and from. He watched her 2 year old daughter while she was at work. Fair enough. She worked and he took care of the child. Then she and I both started to notice he had a drinking problem. As soon as he got up he had a beer. He drank until he passed out. Inturn, I had to take care of her daughter. I told her what he was doing and she banned him from drinking when he had to babysit. Then he started hanging out with some guys he met. He was never home and they fought because my friend needed him to help her and he was out drinking. And so on and so on. MY friend just moved out and they nonstop fight. She tried tokick him out but he threatened her and said if he cant have her he will make it so no one will and if he cant live in the house, he will make it so it is unlivable. HELP SHE IS SCARED AND SHE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO

I have a 12 yr old brother who is in my care. He wants something different with his hair, just NO cutting! I suggested highlights. My husband said that if he did it he would be gay because no man would get highlights! I said "What planet are you from?" Guys get it done all the time. But now my brother needs extra insurance that it is not gay to have highlights.

Oh and there is nothing wrong with being gay, my brother is in this part of his life where he is trying to be a man and have other men think he is manly and try to fit in etc.

I want a gentle way to stop my one year old from nursing. I got him to stop during the day, except for nap time and at night he needs it to fall asleep and he wakes up to nurse! He needs it for comfort, I know. But he is getting too old and I just want to sleep through the night! He doesn't need it for nutrition anymore. HELP

Only in the North Chicago area. The only ones I know of are in Gurnee. In Virginia, where I am from originally, they were everywhere. My children like to play on them in the winter months because they are inside. If no one knows of any....can you give me indoor solutions to let my four year old and one year old burn energy for less than five dollars?
