  • Entry-level web developer jobs?

I work in the IT field as a Junior System Administrator where I have been working for 2 years, but want to become a Frontend Web Developer.

Ive been applying for jobs for 3 weeks now but haven't heard back from any companies...

I have a Bachelors in computer Science, focused on OO Programming. I have a basic understand of Javascript, HTML/CSS, Ajax, PHP, MySQL. I created a website in hopes of attracting attention from potential employers, but I can't even get a company to call me back....

Obviously all of my previous jobs were in the IT field, so I'm guessing they don't like the fact I have no real web developing experience, but I can't get any without a company taking a chance and hiring me...

So I guess my question is - should I put my website on my resume' with an explanation of what concepts/programming concepts I know?

By the way I bought a domain, pointed it to my external dynamic IP, used port forwarding on my router to point to the webserver.

  • Why are cars becoming more efficient/ powerful?

I understand Back in the 1980s, the new fuel standards forced automakers to make smaller engines so most cars had 4 cylinders but they typically had around 90 HP.

Today most 4 bangers get close to 200HP, 6 cylinders are up around 300HP, and there are some stock V8's that put out 500HP. And on top of that fuel mileage is through the roof.

    What's the deal yo?

The reason I ask is because my first car was a 4 cylinder 1989 VW Jetta that only like 20mpg and here I am now with a 2010 v8 mustang that gets the same mileage.

  • New Car Speakers Keep losing bass?

I have a mustang convertible GT with a MACH 460® stereo system. This system features front component speakers, rear 5.25 inch speakers, a 6 CD in dash changer, and a powered amp that feeds those speakers. The speakers were pretty good but I wanted to upgrade so i brought it to Best Buy and had them install Inifinity 62.9i and 682.9 CF Kappas (kept the front tweeter components stock). They sound good, but after beats of bass the bass cuts out from the front speakers. I'm getting a little pissed since i do enjoy listening to my music modestly loud. Did they not take something into consideration here? Are the aftermarket speakers not rated for the amount of RMS or Peak power the stock amp provides? Or does this have something to do with Ohm resistance?

  • What's the best way to invest money right now?

I'm graduating College in a few weeks, going full time May 17th at the place I've been interning at. As such, I don't have much money, but i should be getting the economic stimulus package very soon (probably by this Friday). All in all, I expect to have a little over $1,000 in my savings- ( i know, that's absolutely nothing in this day and age) but I want to start something that I can keep adding to and will make me money over the coming years. Is now a good time to invest in the stock market? any suggestions. p.s. I want to be rich

  • Should I use RAID on my PC?

I'm thinking about buying another HD for my PC that i built (3.33GHz Celeron D, 533MHz FSB - 4GB RAM) it has a 130GB internal, but i'm running out of room. I've been toying with the idea of putting in another 250GB + RAID controller then setting up RAID-0 with data striping- heard that it's efficient. any one have any suggestions or experiences.
