My mom had a seizure and won't let me tell my dad?
Hello, I'm not looking for people to make fun of my mother. I just want some advice, so if you're going to be sarcastic or rude, please leave my question Thank you. This is a tad long, but please answer, I need help.
My mom had a seizure while in the airport a few weeks ago. She just told me tonight. She came home with a stitched/bruised face, and a black eye. She told my family she slipped from wet floors. She just told me she actually had a seizure, she didn't slip. The only people she's told is me, and a doctor in Ohio (We live in New York). She won't let me tell my dad. I am SO worried. Why would a healthy 49 year old woman have a seizure? The doctor did EKG/CS blood tests, etc. and all came back clear. I really want to tell my father about this... should I? Thanks..
3 AnswersFamily1 decade agoLosing 5 oz.-1.5 pounds... PER DAY?!?
I was thinking that it was water weight that I was losing. I was started on a different medication a couple weeks ago. It's an SSRI. (Zoloft) and I thought that Zoloft made you GAIN weight if anything. I was so worried. Now I'm losing weight at a surely unhealthy rate, but my scales can't be lying... It seems as though I've lost a couple inches off of my waist, but I was never big on measurements. Is this healthy? Is it water weight? ( I haven't been eating nearly as much as I used to, or drinking quite as much water.) The weight has been melting off for 2 weeks now.
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness1 decade agoTreadmill help, please?
So we bought my sister a treadmill for like 300 bucks for Christmas. She started crying when she saw that it can only hold 250 pounds. She told us that she weighs 240 pounds. Can the treadmill still support her weight? Or should we buy a new one... UGH. I just want her to get on the freaking treadmill. I doubt she'd break it!... Will it support her?
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoCan they find HIV if they do a general blood test?
Like, if you don't go in specifically for HIV blood samples, can they notice abnormalities such as low white blood cell count etc? I know nothing of HIV, but I'm just curious. If you go in for standard blood work to check for cholesterol, diabetes, diseases, etc, can they see if you have HIV or not? Or do you have to ask them to check for HIV specifically?
THANKS!
Sorry if the question was confusing!
9 AnswersSTDs1 decade agoI was just put on three meds. Anyone have experience :)?
I was wondering if anyone on these medications has had severe side effects not mentioned by your psychiatrist/pharmacist. Also, if these didn't work for you, tell me please. I'm a bit timid to take these, as I've never taken medication for anything before, but I'm in need of a change. I need to feel better. I guess I want to hear others' success/fail stories with the medication and have some knowledge from actual people on the medicines.
Thanks!
Medications:
*Topomax (Epilepsy/migranes.) I don't have epilepsy, but doc said that this would help me a bit with weight loss AND depression.
*Xanax
*ZOLOFT
I was put on the lowest dosages to start out, and I took a Zoloft already, as I'm waiting for tomorrow to start a regular time regimen for the other meds.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these?
4 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoLosing 90 pounds/17 year old girl/excess skin?
My sister weighs about 220 pounds. She's 5'4 or so, and seventeen. I'm sixteen, and I could afford to lose 20 pounds too! Anyway, this question is about HER. For some reason she thinks she'll have /TONS/ of flabby skin after losing weight, so she refuses to go to the gym and eat right with me. It bothers me because I think she can tone herself and tighten up any excess skin if she exercises with me. She just refuses because she is so afraid of the excess skin. I'd like someone to answer this with some facts about flabby skin, please. Can she lose the 90 pounds without having tons of excess skin hanging? She needs some reassurance, and obviously she won't listen to me...
Thank you! :D
