  • Is it possible to lose this weight by May?

I am a 17 year old, 165 lb female. I am also 5' 11''. In the past 6 months, I have gone from 140lbs. to 165lbs. I started lifting weights and running a lot for track about 3-4 months ago, so some of the weight might be muscle. My whole family is very healthy and active. I play volleyball, basketball, and run track. My mom keeps telling me I have gotten fat and need to lose weight badly. These 20-25lbs I have gained have really caused my self esteem to plummet. I never though i was fat but now I am desperate to get these extra pounds off. Im not really trying to get back to 140lbs, but i would like to be about 145-150lb. My mom made me a diet to follow everyday, and so far, i have stuck to it to a T. My question is, is it possible to lose the extra weight by the end of May if im eating about 900-1000 calories and having 1:30 of track practice everyday? Please no rude answers and thanks so much in advance!!::)))))

  • Sudden Hearing Loss in Dog?

Our Boston Terrier is 13 years old. Recently, she had an issue where she would tilt her head to the side and yelp if her ear was touched. We took her to the vet, and the vet looked in her ear and said she didn't see anything, but it might have been an ear infection. The vet prescribed some ear drops for us to put in her ear. Maisy has had no past ear infections or ear problems and has been very healthy her whole life. Since the incident, she has seemed to recover fully. About 4 or 5 weeks ago we noticed a sudden hearing loss. She was a little hearing impaired before we noticed her tilted her head, but we assumed it was caused by old age. Now, she can't tell where sound is coming from at all. I could sit right in front of her and call her name, and she will run the opposite way trying to find out who called her. I checked the active ingredient in the ear drops, and it is different from what the internet says will cause hearing loss in dogs. Could she have burst her ear drum? Thanks in advance:)

  • Really Confused About Volleyball Rotation for High School?

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but this is my first year playing volleyball, and I am a sophomore. I am having a lot of trouble understanding the volleyball rotation my school uses. The practices have been going on for about 4 weeks, and my coach says I'll eventually catch on, but it is really confusing to me! I have been relying on my teammates to tell me where to stand. I know you can't really explain the rotation on here, but could you tell me the name of the rotation I am doing and give me a link so that I can read about it? From what I can understand and remember, the front row sometimes stacks, but I don't know whether it is when we are serving or when the opposing team is serving. When we do stack, the two outside front row players always line in the middle of the court next to the net and behind the middle front. The left front and right front face each other and when the ball is served, they switch positions. I know they can't cross one another until the ball is served, but that is pretty much all I can gather from it! Again, to someone who understands volleyball, this may seem like the dumbest question, but it is really frustrating me!! Thanks in advance to any helpful answers:)

  • Volleyball Serve Help!?

    Hey:)

I'm a sophomore in high school, and this year is my first year playing volleyball. I have a great coach, and he has really taught me a lot! I didn't know much about volleyball, so i began coming to the "non-mandatory" practices in the middle of June so that I would have time to learn before the real practices start. I still have a lot of work to do, but I am fairly pleased with my progress. My team doesn't have very good, consistent servers, and the coach said if we just could get the serves in 90% of the time, we would be a much better team. I really want to be an asset to the team, and be someone they can rely on to get serves in the court. The only problem is.... I can't serve an overhand ball! i practice at home and at practice, but I can't get it controlled enough where it goes over the net but in bounds. I think some of my problem is that I have too much shoulder movement, and I have also noticed that I can't time my toss and my strike enough to hit the center of the ball with the palm of my hand. I also tip it with my fingers or hit it with my wrist which causes the ball not to go over the net. I realize it is hard for anyone on here to really correct me because you can't see me serve, but does anyone have any tips for hitting a more accurate volleyball serve? Thanks so much in advance!!!:)

  • What would you recommend for a first time sophmore starting track?

I am a female that will be an upcoming sophomore, and I am thinking about trying out track. I have never done a sport before and really don't know what to expect at all, and I am a little nervous! How much do I need to train to where I can keep up with all the other girls that have been competing in track for a long time? Is it too late for me to start a sport? I want to do hurdles, but I just want to make sure I won't make a fool out of myself if I join! Please only serious answers! Thanks in advance!!:)

  • Can you wear sandals to a spring formal?

Ok, so I'm 5'10" and I am going to a spring formal next Friday. I will probably end up dancing with some guys in my class that will be there and they are all my height. My problem is I cant wear heels because I don't want t be taller than any of them! I am going to be wearing a short dress, and I didn't know if it would be ok to wear flats or nice sandals with them. I have some sequined sandals that have a strap that wrap around the back of my foot. Are those ok to wear? Also I'm kind of self conscious about my height and am super worried about dancing with someone who is shorter than me. A lot of boys are my height but there are a few who are shorter and I am afraid it will be awkward!!! Any advice?? Thanks soooo much in advance:)

I read the rules online and watched some videos but im not sure i totally get it.would it be bad to ask the coach to tell me how to play? and should I be nervous?

  • Stallions with front teeth removed?

I was at a horse show and 6 reining stallions were being kept in stalls for the overnight show. I went over to see them and noticed all of them had no front teeth, and all their other teeth that I could see we're filed down. ( The very middle 2 top teeth and the middle 2 bottom teeth were completely gone; the teeth on either side of the missing teeth were only about a 1/4 of a inch visible from the gum.) I didn't get too worried because this was a pretty big show and if the owners were mistreating the stallions I'm sure the people running the show would have found out because to register a horse you have to have a piece of paper stating the vet has examined the horse and it is fit for competing. I also thought that maybe the owners had the teeth removed and filed down was so when the stallion mounted a mare he couldn't hurt her if he should bite her while mounting. I have seen stallions that bite a mare's neck and wither area when the mount, but the people who were breeding the mare and stallion just put a muzzle on the stallion. If I'm way of base with what I'm thinking, Sorry! :) Does anyone know why the owners did this to the stallions?

  • Homeschooling Curriculum Question?

I want to do a homeschooling program where I go once a week to a teacher to get my work. My parents don't have the time to teach me and they said I could homeschool if I could find a cirriculum that I learned from home but went to a teacher to get my work. I have a friend who does a program like this and I think it would be the one for me. I live in Covington, Ga and I need a place around here. Thanks!

  • How to make a good impression going into high school? ( For a girl?)?

I am going to a different school next year and I will be going into the 9th grade. I have never been really interested in a boyfriend, but since I am going to a new school I want to make a good impression on the guys there. I am 5' 11" so obviously I do have some insecurities about my height; usually I towered over any boy in my grade, but now the they are finally growing taller than I am! what can I do to make a great first impression when I start school. Also, I once had a guy start talking to me. I thought he was flirting, and I kinda freaked out. I think I might have scared him away! Any tips for keeping my cool?:) Please no mean comments! thankz in advance!

  • How to get rid of back acne quickly!?

I am going to spend the night with one of my close friends that I haven't seen for a while. She is one of those people who has never had a problem with acne. I on the other hand, haven't had a serious problem with acne but I still get it. I really don't want to have it when I go over there in about a week. We will be swimming and she is guaranteed to noticed my back acne if a don't get rid of it. I use to have chest acne, but I got it cleared up using Calamine lotion. My face doesn't have a problem with acne either, but my back gets little bumps all over it no matter what I do. I tried the Calamine lotion on my back but it doesn't seem to help. Does any one know of any tricks to clear up back acne fast?!?

  • I recieve texts from myself?!?

Everytime I send a text from my phone it sends to the intended person and back to me. I have a whole text thread on my phone from myself. Every message I send comes back to me. For instance, if my name is Jane Doe, and I send a text to John Watson, and the text says, " Hi "

Right after I press SEND the text goes to John Watson and also to me. The thread is not a group message either. I've actually turned off group message on my phone. Also, my contact gets mixed up with my Mom's contact. People will send a message to my number but only my Mom will get it. That only happens sometimes, and sometimes it will actually come to me. I am begining to think my phone is possessed. Any help?

  • How to make Carpenter Bee Butter?

Right now Brian's Bee Butter if off the market so I need to mix up my own until I can buy his. I Googled ingredients in Bee Butter and it said Pymethrine ( which I have) and grease. How do I mix it? It has to be at a consistency so that it won't run out of the hole, but it has to be soft enough so that when the bee exits the mixture will get on the wings. It needs to be like Vaseline I guess. So how do I achieve this? Will the two mix without problems? Thanks!

  • Can a horse roan out at an older age?

We bought a paint gelding when he was 3 years old. He was solid black with a white marking on his stomach. Now he is almost 5 and we have noticed little white hairs popping up over his body. We looked at his papers and his sire was a black tobiano and his dam was a red roan. Is it possible for him to roan out this late and end up being a blue roan?

  • What job would I qualify for?

I teach High School math and science. I hate it. The students are so disrespectful! I use to be a dentist but I really didn't like it. I don't know what my career would be. I need to make at least 70,000 a year. I would really love to work with animals, but I don't really have a lot of time to go back to school. Any suggestions would be great! thanks!
