I would love to start selling my art work directly to the public in the UK, but am unsure of the steps that I need to take. I have already been selling my work online for some months so I do have some business experience, but I cannot seem to find much information regarding law etc on selling directly to the public...

Firstly and most importantly, do I need some kind of license or insurance before I can start selling?

Where can I find detailed and reliable information on this?

Are there any other important things that I need to know about before I start considering craft fairs, galleries etc?

I am moving to Bath on 24th september into uni accommodation... but I have a job interview in Bath on the 19th and they need proof of where I will be living in the city. What can I do?! How can I prove that I will be moving there on the 24th??

I am doing my first proper showing in a cafe this week, including some paintings which have been done with 18x14" and 12x10" canvas boards. These are quite heavy! how can I go about hanging them on the wall so that they still look professional? or is it better to just try and find frames (in which case do canvas boards fit in normal frames?)

please give detailed answers which are not too complicated... I admit I am fairly new to this but eager to learn!

I am an artist from the UK looking to set up my own website in order to exhibit and possibly sell my work. I already sell my work on eBay to customers worldwide and want a professional website to send my customers and potential clients to etc. Since I do want to reach people worldwide I was thinking .com... but have heard that it will get lost for people in the UK searching for me... plus .com websites seem to cost more to set up and run.

is there REALLY a difference between .co.uk and .com websites when it comes to reaching people out there? especially for artists?
