Can a learner test drive a car?
I'm about to buy my first car in the next couple of days. As a learner driver, am I legally allowed to test drive a car with a driver or can I only be a passenger?
4 AnswersBuying & Selling1 decade agoWho pays vet bill for injured bird?
I found my cat hovering over a wild bird about an hour ago. I've put it outside in a safe place and the cat is in the house. The bird can't fly and looks like it's leg is a bit injured. I'm keeping an eye on the bird but I can't afford an extra vet bill just now.
What do I do with the bird? Do I take it to a vet or phone SSPCA? Will they charge me? Or should I just keep checking on the bird?
4 AnswersBirds1 decade agoCan I have my hair fixed free?
I had my hair cut and coloured yesterday by my regular hairdresser and it looked perfect. It was only when I was brushing my hair this morning that I realised the back is shorter than the front and he's cut it at angle. I wanted it all the same length.
Can I go back and ask him to fix it free of charge or would I be expected to pay the £23.95 for a full haircut?
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoCan I have my money back for an infected piercing?
I had my eyebrow pierced 9 days ago and despite thouroughly cleaning it as directed my eye was swollen shut 3 days after. I went down to the piercer who said just to keep cleaning it. By 7 days post pierce I was at my doctors getting antibiotic because my eyebrow was red hot swollen and starting to ooze pus. My doctor said that it was also responsible for my 4 days history of headaches.
Whilst cleaning it today the piercing actually fell - yes fell- out. The swelling has stretched the holes and the bar was too short to cope.
I'm left with a still swollen eyebrow, an infection and headaches that are blinding as well as two big holes in my head.
Can I ask for my money back?

3 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade agoIs my piercing infected or normal?
I had my eyebrow pierced 2 days ago and since yesterday morning it's gotten more swollen and my eyelid is also a bit puffy. My piercer said to clean it with salt and cooled boiled water and this is what I've been doing. I had my nose done at the same place with no problem.
He used clamps and my eyebrow was a bit bruised on the first night. This is my 9th piercing.
Is it infected or is this a normal part of the healing process. My guy said I would feel it but I can't get him till the morning.
4 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoHow do I know if my cat has finished giving birth?
She had 4 kittens between 9am and 9:50am and seems quite happy but when I stroke her I can feel a lumpy bit and am wondering how to tell if she's still got one in there!
3 AnswersCats1 decade agoI think my cat might finally be going into labour!?
She's been in and out of her nesting box all day and is a bit more affectionate.
If she is in fact in labour what do I need to watch for? I know cats can do it on their own but I just want to make sure that if she does encounter any problems then I can help her.
6 AnswersCats1 decade agoHow can I stop my dog chasing cars?
My 8 month old Border Collie keeps chasing cars when I take him for his walks. Yesterday he actually ran in front of a car which had to slam its brakes on - luckily everyone was okay.
I do walk him on a lead and I take him to a local field where I let him off his lead to run and chase his ball. He does come back to me when I call him but yesterday he didn't come back when I called him and he ran right down to the road. Its not a main road but is still busy at times.
How can I train him to ignore the cars?

13 AnswersCats1 decade agoThinking about a foot tattoo?
I'm thinking about a foot tattoo but I can't make my mind up what I want to get! I'm thinking about some small flowers trailing from my ankle to my toes or maybe stars or hearts.
I already have hearts on my wrist and stars between my shoulders.
Does anyone have a foot tattoo? What did you get and which of the above would you recommend?
Thanks!
(PS: I'm 30, I like my tattoos as they all represent something to me and I don't particularly care if others don't like them!)
5 AnswersTattoos1 decade agoWhen will my cat deliver?
My cat is 9 weeks pregnant and has been displaying pre-labour signs for about 2 weeks but still hasn't popped the kittens out! How much longer is safe for her to go before I should take her to the vet to be checked.
i've read on the internet that if they go over 70 days there's a higher risk of the kittens being stillborn.
Also, i am having her neutered. I had been trying to contact my local Cats Protection group for help with the neurtering costs but they never phoned back (I tried every week for 4 months!). I contacted a CPL group in another area and got things sorted in 36 hours!! My tom is booked in the be spayed. So pleasee do not do the i told you so's for neutering.
Thanks
2 AnswersCats1 decade agoGym & swim to lose weight and increase fitness?
I'm trying to lose at least 60lb (obviously not all at once!) My doc has put me on Xenical which doesn't seem to be doing much in the 6 weeks I've been taking it.
I've recently started swimming again and am getting better (now up to 48 lengths of a 25m pool which is really good for me!) I'm thinking about joining my local gym to get my overall fitness level up and to try and boost my weight loss.
Does anyone have any tips on how much I need to do to lose weight and to tone up my "wobbly" bits?
28 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoI want a tattoo to represent my kids?
I want to get a tattoo of footprints to represent my 2 sons. I was thinking of having their date of birth in nice writing and their names spelt out in the toes.
Does this sound too daft? I really want something along this line but I want it to look nice.
3 AnswersTattoos1 decade agoHow to control a 4 year old?
My eldest son is 4 and will be starting primary school in august. He very rarely behaves and does what people ask of him. He argues, backchats, hits, kicks and scratches as well as crying, screaming and shouting.
I've tried reward charts, time outs, naughty step, naughty chair, withholding treats, banning cartoons and taking away toys but he still doesn't pay attention. He just gets louder and says he doesn't care or doesn't want toy/sticker/treat etc.
He's been like this for nearly 2 years and he's getting increasingly violent towards his little brother. I'm a single parent so am on my own with the discipline.
12 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoEyebrow or ear piercing?
I have my nostril pierced and 3 in each ear (normal lobe piercings). I had my navel done about 6 years ago but it didn't heal right so I took it out.
I'm now wanting another piercing but I can't make my mind up between my eyebrow or the top of my ear. I know it's going to be a bit sore when it's done.
My question is who has these and which would you recommend?
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body1 decade agoI think my cat is in labour!?
My cat is approx 8 weeks pregnant and for the last 20 minutes she's been meowing and bit, going in and out of her box and a few minutes ago she jumped up on my bed panting.
Is she in labour or do cats get braxton hicks and she's okay?
4 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhen to harvest potatoes?
I've got two sacks of king Edward potatoes growing and the leafy bits are about 8-10 inches above the top of the sack. When do I harvest the spuds?
Thanks!
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHow to lead train a border collie?
I've had my 7 month old collie for 3 weeks now and even after a normal lead, halti and a choke chain he's still pulling really hard when going for a walk. I stopped using the halti after 5 days because it was cutting into him because he was pulling so much! The choke chain doesn't seem to bother him at all! I've been using it for 10 days now and there's no improvement at all! Even when I stop and bring him back to me as soon as I move he's pulling again!
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoIs my pregnant cat okay?
My cat is approx 7 weeks pregnant (estimated by vet). She's fnally gone into the dark box I put in the corner for her but she's lookng a bit on edge. We can see the kittens sticking out her tummy when they move and she's suddenly got quite a bit bigger.
Is this normal? Is she still a week or two away or is she furthernalong than vet thinks? (vet v offhand and abrupt!)
Thanks
