  • Guinea pig losing hair?

I have three guinea pigs - two that are closely bonded and are 3 years, and one that is 5 months. They've been living together for about a week and a half. I've noticed that in the cage, there are small bunches of fur lying around the cage with some skin still attached. Is that serious? None of my guineas pigs have bald spots and appear healthy. Could it be the dominant pig showing the baby who's boss or scratching from stress? Thanks.

  • New Guinea Pig Questions?

Hi, I already have two guinea pigs with a large C&C cage, and is interested in getting another, younger one. There are currently some babies at my local animal shelter, but before I adopt I wanted to know:

Should I keep it in a separate cage for a while until it gets settled in, or should I introduce the baby to my current pigs (2 years old) right away? And should I put it in a separated part of the current cage or set up it's own? Thanks!

  • Am I Feeding my Guinea Pigs Enough Vit. C?

I have 2 guinea pigs, and I was wondering if I was feeding my piggies too much or too little vitamin c. I usually feed them 3-4 baby carrots (2 per pig) and a small handful of baby spinach, and sometimes a grape, strawberry, blueberry, or orange cut up. If I am feeding too little, how much and what should I feed them? If too much, what could be dropped? Thanks!

  • aggressive guinea pig?

I have 2 guinea pigs: Cookie and Lollipop. Cookie is the aggressive one, she growls and lunges for Lollipop, and I don't know why. When I take her out, she hisses like a snake and her ears shoot straight back. Most of the time I can't even get her out because she's so aggressive. She bites, really really hard. Once, I was holding her in my lap and she was purring, and then all of a sudden she bites me hard on my leg. She also flips over the house and pees and poos in it, what should I do?

  • My Guinea Pig flipped over her house?

My guinea pig Cookie flips over her house and then uses it as a litter box. She already has one! (I clean it everyday, too!) She has 2 houses, I switch them out every time she dirties one up. It's really disgusting, I'm thinking of getting her a wooden one that's heavier but what if she hurts herself? And her cage-mate, Lolipop isn't too keen on that either. Should I get another house??

  • Agressive Guinea Pig?

I have 2 guinea pigs. One is really sweet - Lolipop. One is, eh, not so sweet - Cookie. When I got Cookie, I let her have 3 days to get used to the cage. When I first picked her up, She squeaked like crazy and nibbled at my fingers. That's when I noticed she had bite marks on her ears??? I kept holding her for 2 weeks and she still nibbled at me. i tried again the next day and she bit my fingers till they bled. now she won't let me pick her up - she scuffles in the corner if i try to pick her up, and bites really hard. i really don't want to give her up. lolipop is doing really well. cookie seems to scare her, though. Sometimes i catch cookie moving the hidey-house against the wall to "trap" loli. Also, whenever i walk into the room, cookie runs up the the cage, and starts gnawing on the bars. when i try to pet/pick up loli, she makes a snake-like sound that i know is not purring. i can't even hold her anymore. what should i do?
