I graduated high school in '09, have a wonderful boyfriend, I have a Norwegian Elkhound/Lab mix puppy, am involved in his training, my sisterinlaw is a professional dog trainer and has 2 Chessies and a Yellow Lab whom I love working with hunting and agility-wise, am currently a full-time veterinary assistant/night nurse at an animal hospital. I am very opinionated and I agree with spaying/neutering, feeding animals a holistic diet, training them properly, crate training, and doing everything possible to help animals live happy, healthy lives.

  • Colorado Springs Court Fee For Proving You Have Auto Insurance Now?

I was going to base to pick up my fiance and I just moved to Co Springs. Forgot my insurance cards in my apartment. Couldn't prove it had it, so the MP's took my license and are sending me to court to get it back by proving I have insurance. Do I have to pay a ticket or court processing fee? They told me I just have to show up, show them I have the card then leave?

  • Chinchilla Pregnancy Questions?

I have had a male Black Velvet Chin for 2 years now. This past October I adopted another "male" from our local shelter (Standard Gray and was about 6 months old at the time) in October 2011. This has been my first couple of years owning Chins, and I guess it was ignorant of me to believe the shelter and not verify. I now have a very pregnant female. I noticed behavior differences between the two recently, however, I did find looking online it was common to mis-identify genders due to the "horn" on the female's genitals. She started drinking more water recently (again, before I knew it was a girl, I attributed this to it being summer or something along those lines). She has gained a good amount of weight, as well. She is laying on her side, and I noticed her nipples were elongated and dark pink/red. I also noticed a baby or babies moving in her last night. I was wondering if anyone has a guesstimate to when she's due now? Is it going to harm her that I didn't give her calcium supplements this long? I read that you should give them calcium during pregnancy. Any more information on the birth etc would be helpful from those of you who have personally experienced it.

    Thanks.

  • "Slightly" Elevated Liver Enzymes?

Hi, my doctor did some regular blood work about 2 weeks ago--general profile. The office called me earlier today letting me know that my Liver Enzymes were "slightly" elevated, however, did not tell me which Enzyme specifically. I am to go back tomorrow for more blood work up, I'm guessing a liver panel. I'm also needing to get an ultrasound. What does this usually mean? I'm only 20 years old, not a heavy drinker nor do I drink often. I'm not on any prescriptions other than birth control and Zoloft (I only started Zoloft after the blood work was done). I also do not have a family history of Liver problems. I also have received the Hepatitis A and B vaccines as a child/early adult. No symptoms, either. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Missed period for 2 months?

    Hi all,

I have been on birth control (Loestrin) since I was about 16. I'm now 20. I used it regularly, but within the recent months I messed it up. I missed a few pills and then when my prescription was ready I didn't wait to have my period I just continued on to the next month and tried to get it regular again. I now have missed two months (Sept and now Oct so far). I have no symptoms of getting my period and I'd been regular my whole life. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests and they were both negative. I just wanted to see if there's any feed back I can get here before I go to a doctor. I'm going to schedule for next month if I don't get it next month but I've had a couple scared before where it came late and I don't want to jump to conclusion.

    Thanks!

  • Does a "non-profit" animal rescue make only enough money to support the rescue, or...?

Does a non-profit rescue make just enough money (by donation) to run the rescue (i.e. vet care, food, shelter, etc) or do they make enough to support themselves as well? This is an argument I'm having with someone, and to my knowledge, most rescues only thrive off of the donations but have to have an actual job for their personal income. Can anyone help?

  • If a cop messes up your name on a ticket do you have to pay it?

He put my First AND Middle name under "First name" on the ticket, my Last name under my "Middle name" and no "Last name". My bf told me if they mess up like that I can complain and they won't charge my ticket?

  • U.S. Naval Academy Alumni and mid shipmen-Questions about my Fiance wanting to get into Annapolis?

How hard is the first year? And also would this have a really bad effect on our relationship? We heard they were really strict and I probably wouldn't see or hear from him the whole time he's there or at least the first year there? How often would we be able to talk/see each other? Is it really as strict as they say?

  • Military/deployment-Filing Taxes?

My boyfriend deployed last year during the dates of April 11-July 14 2009. He did not file his taxes before he left. He was told after he returned he would have a 6 month extension to file his taxes for 2008 before he left. Is that true and how would he go about filing them? And since this is his first job how much should he expect to get back (He enlisted into the USMC July 2008)?

  • Birth control effectiveness?

I've been on Loestrin 24fe for 3 months now. I'm just finishing my last pack this week. I'm wondering about the effectiveness.

The first month, I messed up a few times as in I took the pill later than my schedules timing, maybe within 5 hours or so late.

The second month I was forced to skip two days because I was very sick and couldn't even hold down water. Then, on the placebos of that month, I switched from taking the pill in the morning, to taking it before bed.

The third month, I've been consistently taking it, but last Thursday I was 5 hours late because of being a volunteer firefighter, we had a fire and I couldn't take it til we got back.

I'm wondering if my chances would be way higher to get pregnant at this point because of still trying to become really regular on taking it.

  • Mono? Doctor's can't do the test within the first week..?

I'm starting to think (as well as my doctor and the hospital) that I have mono. I've been in pain since Wednesday..My throat really, really hurts. It was so bad that it brought me to tears just to swallow. I stayed home from school Thursday and Friday, and went to the ER this morning because my throat had swelled twice as much. I tested negative for strep. I had a fever for two days straight, had constant post nasal drip which caused me to vomit twice (really painful) and I slept for almost two days straight. Also had horrible headaches. Doctor and hospital couldn't give me anything as they're not sure until they do the Mono test and rule it out. Any suggestions?
