is there a precise psychological term for the following...?
a person uses expressions such as "I'm not after revenge" or "I don't want them to loose their job" in order to try and appear objective and reasonable when attacking another person.
A real life example could be In a workplace this could be one employee reporting on the actions of a fellow worker behind their back to their boss and is trying to avoid appearing to be vindictive.
The technique could possibly also be used to overcome internal feelings of guilt by rationalizing that you are not intending to harm another person if you say you are not.
I heard a term used to describe such behavior once but I can't remember it now.
4 AnswersPsychology9 years agoThanks to an unexpected power cut, my Windows XP (Home Edition) has become corrupted.?
1) I tried using the disk that came with the PC to load on Windows again and during this process I got an error message that "WinFast 7950 GT(nvidia) is not registered as compatible with windows"...or some mesage to that effect.
2) Now when I try to start Windows normally, it won't start so I am assuming there is some problem with the display driver that's causing this.
3) When I start in safe mode, I find that I have to download the Driver Detective for latest drivers BUT
4) When I try and install it I get a 1601 NET.Framework error so I cannot run the program to fix the drivers to get Windows to start properly.
Does anyone know a way around this sort of issue without having to pay? I mean I know its a bit naive but I would have thought the whole idea of a copy of the system disk was so that one might actually be able to fix a damaged Windows OS.....
