Does Jesus not like "wise and learned" people?
Posted moments ago:
"There isn't a lot of scientific evidence [of the resurrection], if that's the kind of evidence you're referring to. Why? Scientific evidence is often misleading. Jesus wants us to know of Him via prayer. In this way God reveals to the childlike the things He keeps hidden from the wise and the learned."
Did Jesus come to the world in bronze age Palestine to avoid evidence entirely in order to appeal to the "childlike" "via prayer?"
If god/Jesus can see all of time (as I have been brought to believe is within the scope of their power), was an uneducated era really an intentional choice for the debut of the savior of mankind?

"I challenge you to invent (and draw) a new animal every day for the rest of your life. How long do you think it will be before you start repeating or making changes to your designs?"
My understanding of god has always been that it is supposed to be an INFINITE, ALL-POWERFUL being. This defense for creationism not only saddles god with human qualities, but heavily implies that a deity we have been told knows all and can do anything lacks the imagination to create lifeforms that significantly differ from one another.
Does god lack imagination?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoCould someone show me the scripture for this?

"Life before birth was in Heaven, you simply don't remember it because God does not wish for us to."
Is there scripture that supports this idea? I haven't heard of this before and am genuinely curious.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoAmerican Christians: Do you believe that only those of faith should be allowed to vote?
The link below is a video of a Christian genuinely espousing this very belief. Do you agree with this notion? Is the free will given by God more or less important than the path prescribed for salvation, eternal life, etc.?
Do you believe America would benefit from a Christian Dictator as the chap in the video suggests?

Did God know she was going to blame the incident on a black woman?
If so, did God protect her eyes anyway? Shouldn't she be punished for invoking God in such a dubious act?

3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat percentage of Islam do you believe is violent extremists?
I just saw this posted a few minutes ago...
"Islam has over 1.5 billion followers and there are around 2,000 extremists who think its ok to kill people for no reason, those people aren't real muslims
Source(s):
Christians need to take their heads out of their *** and read the Quran"
"No True Scotsman" Fallacy aside, doesn't it seem likely that the military forces amassed to engage in the "War on Terror" would have been able to subdue 2000 extremists in the last 9 years?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThe Quran burning has been called off. How does that make you feel?
Breaking news.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Do you think that more teens are becoming "fake" Christians?
According to Kenda Creasy, Minister and professor at Princeton Theological Seminary, an increasing number of teens are following a "mutant" form of Christianity.

What are your opinions on this "imposter" faith dubbed "moralistic therapeutic deism"?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf demonic possession is real, why doesn't Satan just hit us all up simultaneously?
For those of you believers in Satan, what say you? If Satan can really have power over us, why isn't he doing so in mass quantities?
I sense a "The righteous are safe from his powers" type of answer, but doesn't that still leave plenty of easy targets for Satan to snatch? I mean, what's the point of possessing a kid in a third world country and leaving everyone else alone? Doesn't this seem like poor marketing skills on his part?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs Christianity polytheist?
Hear me out, Christ fans! As some of you are prone to pointing out (rather vigorously, I might add), there is a Holy Trinity. God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. By my count that is 3 entities. Each with it's own form and superhuman --or God-like-- powers. It doesn't stop there, however. There's also Satan who not only has power over humans in the form of supernatural temptation and, by some accounts, horrific acts, but has his own supernatural domain as well.
I know you protestants are going to furrow your brows at this next part, but let's face it: Catholics are Christians. The Latin American contingent of the Catholics are really big on the Virgin Mary and tend to worship her as well. We're up to 5 super-beings. There are also many people who pray to Saints.
Is the monotheism angle of Christianity just a marketing ploy? Is it just because "One God" sounds better than "Many Gods"?

Isn't that like praying for science?
