Hi all,

So I've been playing GOW2 and Halo 3 WAY too much...especially online. I've become bored of my other games like COD 3, GH3, Army of Two, and few other games.

I've been researching cheap games online but can't decide what to buy...I'm a "poor" college student without a job at this point so I don't wanna spend too much on video games.

So what are your opinions on what I should buy?

I have Dead Rising, The Orange Box, Fifa 08, and I have seemed to forgotten the rest.

I'm into sports games and shooters and wouldn't mind role playing games. And I prefer co op games and online games.

My girlfriend and I have been dating for a month and it's been getting semi-serious. She's a year older than I am and we're both in college. She lives in a different state than I do, about a 3-4 hr drive. We'll probably be together for the remainder of the school year, so until May-ish. Then she goes back to her state and I go back to mine. I think I may be able to handle a few months without her (of course I'd still visit and vice versa over the summer). BUT the problem is she'll be studying overseas in the fall... which means I definitely won't see her for a good 4-5 months. Skyping and Aim might become difficult due to time zone differences and class schedules. So my question is....should i invest all of myself into this relationship only to know that it could lead to heartbreak? I think she feels the same way, we have yet to discuss this because I'm afraid I might scare her away (i'm not sure HOW serious of a relationship she wants) Should I just wait it out and see what happens?

I got a citation in the mail today for underage drinking that happened a week ago. I had a sip of alcohol and registered .01. That's pretty much .00 . Should i plead guilty and pay the fine? Or should I plead not guilty then go to court. (I'm going off to college tmr and its about a 3--4 hr drive which is why im reluctant to come all the way back to go to court) i'll probably get the med fine too as noted at the bottom of the citation. So what will that be? like 100-200?

and yes i know taht drinking is still drinking and i'm sorry. i cant change that now...for all those ppl who are gonna lecture me.

So I'm a little behind on my off-season track and field training. I haven't been running much and stopped for 3 weeks. I've still been lifting and still playing other sports like ult. Frisbee and soccer.

So here's my question...

Is it a good idea if i did 2 a days for the next two weeks to build a better base quicker?

Like a speed workout say around 8am and then a distance run at like 7pm?

I probably won't do it every single day...I'll take my one day off and probably one or two off from the speed workout but still do the distance runs.

I'm only asking because I have a time trial run the 2nd or so week I go back to college.

so i've been playing madden 08 since it came out and have always wondered this: after about 5-7 seasons in franchise mode, player stats (specifically the overall and awareness) jump like crazy during the offseason and preseason.

like i would have back up db's jump from 70 to like 88 and then to 96 all in one "season" and they dont even play much.

is this a glitch or do they just get better overtime?

its usually just the overall that changes a lot...sometiimes it changes with the stamina but IT SHOULD NEVER jump that much with a +3 staminia right?

Penn Relays are this weekend and I really want to watch it. It's supposed to be on espn2 from 1-3. the problem is we no longer get that channel. is there a place i can watch a live broadcast of it? it could be like a website that allows me to watch espn2 or the actual relays.

I got some Pen Vk (penicillin) last year for a strep throat problem. I'm quite certain that I got it again...I've had it so many times I am almost positive. I dont have the time to go to the doctors this week or the next. i still have my prescription from the last time. It expired 02/22/08 so about a month and a half ago. is it safe to use it? i know its probably not as potent, but is it toxic?

I've been trying to download word 2003 documents onto word 2007, but it won't do it. It opens it in wordpad or something and when i save and reopen with word, it asks about decoding and stuff but it still looks weird...like with all these characters. Do i need some converter thing now? I have vista btw and my friend said that might be the prob.

I recently got microsoft office 2007. before that i only had the home edition and when i downloaded an attachment, i would have to download it with wordpad. now that i got word i want to open it with that. but when i downloaded an attachment, the box said it would be open with the default microsoft word but it opened with wordpad again.

I got home today and went upstairs. As soon as I went upstairs there was a strong smell of melting plastic (it smells like when someone uses a hair straightener). The smell is in the hallway, my room, and my sister's room. I checked the outlets in our rooms and the hallway to see if it was something electrical but couldn't find anything. I got home at 5 and its now 9 and the smell is still here.

What could it be and could it be dangerous?

recently my cpu wanted to update some stuff for quicktime and i had blocked it with trend microvirus.

after that there were multiple pop-ups indicating that the application was being blocked by trend microvirus

now whenever i turn my cpu on, there's a pop up saying:

qttask.exe- application erro

the application failed to intialize properly (0xc00000022). Click OK to terminate the application

what's wrong and how do i fix this?

i want to go to college and major in environmental science because I am very passionate about preserving and cleaning up the Earth. however, i recently found out that a degree in environmental science only gets low entry level jobs and require many years of grunt work before one can become a project manager.

i want to do something that will have a more immediate impact (although i may be naive to think so)

anyone know anything about geologists or hydrologists?

i hear that geologists have less secure jobs and i dont know much about hydrologists

wat would i need to get a bs in b/f i get a ms in hyrdology/geology?

any other things would be good too

I need to build a car that will travel 6m and STOP before breaking the egg placed at the front of it. It has to be .5m*1m*1.5m dimensions (max) and a max of 20N. I need to use either gravitational or elastic potential energy to propel it. It cant be made of something prefabricated (like car wheels etc) it has to be something around the house.

I was thinking of using gravitational energy to propel it. Make a simple base for the car and attach a tall rod in the middle which will have a pulley at the top. Attach a certain weight with a certain distance. The problem is I dont know how to calculate this stuff. My friend took it last year and said to measure the circumfrence of the wheel and stuff....

Anyone have any ideas???

hey,

so i've been running the hurdles since freshman year (only the intermediate hurdles) and started the high ones late last year. this season i took up the 60m hurdles. my first meet i ran 9.6, then 9.7, and yesterday 9.6 FAT. I dont know how to get my time down to 9.0 or lower. My starts are never consistent..the first time was good then the other two were bad.

when the gun goes off i just sprint and dont even think about my steps (although i dont really count my steps).

i can go lead with both legs.

how can i get my time down? no blocks allowed, no spikes allowed at the meets (university rule---b/c its a hs meet)

should i work on my start, steps? and how?
