I always hear about this Book of Axe, yet I've gone through my bible several times and I CAN"T FIND IT!! PLEASE HELP!

I'm currently a rising sophomore in college.. and I've taken introductory courses in economics as well as most lower division math courses (Calc 1-3, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Statistics, Discrete Math) and I'm considering switching my major from math to economics or double majoring.

My question is this: If I decide to pursue economics, go to grad school and pursue a career in economics..... will I have to keep up with the news and follow politics? In all honesty, politics bores me to death and I can't stand listening to people talk about it. I am completely ignorant politically and I plan on keeping things this way. It's just my personal preference.

If I had to follow politics it would take a lot of time for me to catch up, I've made it a point my whole life to avoid anything even remotely political. As some of you may have noticed, I've had no idea what 'GOP' meant until recently..lol.

I just hate politics. Everything about politics is just so boring to me. I can't stand the personalities of people who talk about politics on TV and radio. I'd really just like to remain ignorant of it and not bother to force myself to learn about something that annoys me in every way imaginable.

So... can I pursue an education/ career in economics without having to bother with learning anything about politics? I don't want this to get in my way. Thanks in advance.

Because I can't listen to any news station that uses the phrase GOP. IT's such an annoying phrase and it hurts my ears. If I could find a news station that does NOT use the phrase "GOP" EVER, I'd consider tuning in. But since the phrase "GOP" is so common, I can never watch the news or read a newspaper.
