If you stay a virgin too long do you begin to lose your libido?
I'm 20, and am only now starting (or at least trying) to become sexually active. However, I notice my drive is lower than it once was. I only just had my first sexual experience of any type, and I wasn't as into it as I had hoped. This worried me.
If you don't have sexual contact for too long, does the body begin to rid itself of a libido? A "use it or lose it" thing? I'm worried that since I wasn't sexually active in high school like most people are, I might've done permanent damage to my libido.
Are my fears unfounded?
5 AnswersMen's Health8 years agoTurning My Life Around?
Here's where I am at right now:
- 19, will be 20 in May.
- Never had a girlfriend, not even a first kiss.
- Never had a job.
- Overweight
- Little in the way of usable skills. I don't know anything about art, music, writing, computers, animation, or anything that I could turn into a career.
- I just went through the motions in High School. I got good grades, but I never took AP classes, never did extracurricular, never did sports. I just went through the motions at school. (All my time out of school was spent surfing the internet, and nursing a...pornography addiction...that I have since gotten myself out of).
- I never expressed myself and have little in the way of what I would call a self identity.
Currently I am enrolled in a collegiate aviation program, training to be a pilot. How I ended up here, I don't know. I've always liked aviation, it was my one true interest, so it just kind of happened. The problem is that I might have to quite due to financial reasons, and if that happens, what little I've invested in my future will be gone. I have no plan B or C, and I am depressed and terrified.
Sooo...help. How can I turn this mess around?
3 AnswersPsychology8 years agoWhere To Meet "Alt Girls" On A College Campus?
I'm 19, never had a girlfriend but want to start dating today or soon (my goal is to meet someone before New Years), and my type of girls that I like are alternative girls. You know, punk rock, Hot Topic etc. I've always found that so attractive, I've never been attracted to "girly girls." Haha.
Anyway, I'm on a small-medium college campus, and I'm not sure where to start looking. Where should I go to find alt girls on campus? What clubs tend to attract such girls? Any other places I should look? Parties?
Thanks for the input. As you can tell I have no idea where to start with dating, but that's why I'm here. Lol.
1 AnswerSingles & Dating9 years ago19. Never Had A Girlfriend. Anxious In Most Social Situations (Especially Around Girls). Yet Want Love. HELP!!?
I'm 19 and basically kept to myself in high school. Didn't have friends until about junior year, and I've never had a girlfriend. I'm an introvert, and for the longest time I thought I might've been asexual, but I'm beginning to realize that I'm heterosexual, and a hopeless romantic at that (my best friends are all in really loving relationships that I wish to emulate and have myself).
The problem is that I have CRIPPLING social anxiety. I get painfully uncomfortable in social situations. I am terrified of eye contact, and am afraid to join conversations. I feel like all the eyes in the room are focused on me and my faults when even though intellectually I know they aren't. Socially I feel like a square peg in a round hole. Sometimes it's hard to even feel human.
Worse yet, I am doubly anxious around girls. Period. I'm kind of like Raj from the Big Bang Theory. I go days without speaking to girls, and weeks without even looking a girl in the eye.
I'm on 0.5mg of klonopin 3 times a day. It helps me be a bit more extroverted in social situations, but it does nothing to help my anxiety around women.
There's a battle inside me. A romantic who desperately wants a happy relationship like my friends, but also the extremely socially awkward introvert that keeps me from that.
What do I do? How can I conquer my demons and be happy?
8 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoSkunk Spray In The Air?
Our dog got skunked last night, and while we neutralized the spray, he still stinks, and the air around him subsequently stinks as well. His favorite spot to lay is right next to an entertainment system, where he is right now sleeping off the ordeal (poor guy :( ).
Now, in three days that stuff is going off with me to college, and I'm worried that he is transferring secondhand stench to it. While it never came in contact with activated spray, neutralized spray still stinks, and I'm worried about what steps I need to take, if any, to clean my stuff, or stop aerosoled neutralized spray in the air from getting into it.
It's a TV, Xbox 360, and games boxes. All nonporous items. They're on a coffee table, and he likes to lay next to it.
1 AnswerCleaning & Laundry9 years agoItchy feet causes, plus another question?
For the last three days I've had itchy feet. I just got back from an air show that involved four days of walking, and on the last day rains that got into my shoes. At first I thought it might've been athletes foot (still using lotrimine, just in case), but I doubt it since no other symptoms are present. They just itch, no scaling, bumps, abnormal redness, etc. I also have a history of eczema on my hands, and milder eczema on my legs. Could it've been spread to my feet.
And if it is athletes foot, how can I keep from spreading it. I am wearing socks around the house and am keeping my feet off the furniture. Is that enough? If a socked-foot bumps something on the ground which will later be handled by hand, how serious is the transmission risk? (I have anxiety problems).
3 AnswersSkin Conditions9 years agoWhat's the "secret" to MW3?
This is driving me up a wall. I've been playing all night and the highest killstreak I was able to get was precision air strike (only once). I've been watching commentators and trying their advice, but it never works. The advice to only stay on the outer edges of the map is total crap, because there's usually a corner camper. Plus you're at the mercy of the horrid spawns, and I've been shot in the back just as many times as if I had just rushed the center.
Not to mention the incredible amounts of CHEAP tactics people use. SMAW/RPG noob tubers, Type 95ers, campers, etc. If I ever get a predator missile, no matter how I hide myself, I usually get killed in the process.
Why do commentators never seem to run into this crap? Are their videos staged? Moded controllers?
What is the secret to being good at MW3?
8 AnswersVideo & Online Games9 years agoSomething is wrong with my Internet connection.?
Something strange has been going on with my Internet connection these last few days, and I'm wondering if the problem is me or the ISP (Comcast).
For about a week now, I've been experiencing nightly, almost total drops in Internet speed, every time usually at nearly the same time (between eleven and midnight). It's instantaneous. One minute it's at 25mbs, the next it's about 0.1mbs, and it remains so until morning. However, this morning no such recovery happened. It is still 0.33mbs, yet also strangely my upload speed has recovered (it is currently about 5mbs).
What is going on here?
1 AnswerOther - Internet9 years agoElectric Field Magnitude In A Simple Circuit?
I have a 9v battery, with the two leads connected via 6 inches of copper wire. The battery is fully charged.
How can I calculate the Newtons per Coulomb, or volts per meter, in this simple circuit?
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoCoulombs Between Battery Leads?
I want to calculate with Coulombs law the force between two leads of a 9v battery, attached in a simple circuit between each other with 6 inches of copper wire. The problem is q1 and q2 multiplying. With some searching, I found that a battery has 565mAh, which converts to 2,034 Coulombs. In this equation, could I simply call q1Xq2 = 2,034 coulombs, or do I need to give each lead an individual coulomb value?
Is this a correct equation?
F = k*2,034/0.1524^2
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoIPhone 4S Google Images Not Working?
I've been having this problem as of late, in which I cannot open image results from Google Images. Even when I hold down over a picture, I don't get any "open in new tab" options, just "save image" from the thumbnail. Same in both Safari and Atomic Web.
What's the problem?
2 AnswersGoogle9 years agoCan Two Bosons Occupy The Same Point In Space At Once?
Also, how does the spin mechanic actually cause this to happen? Does the spin quantity cause the particle to have a certain number of points of potential to be found (wave function), and if another particle has the same possible with potentials the overlap will cause interference that will disrupt the function of the system? The Pauli exclusion principle forbidd such interferences with fermions but what about bosons? Are their waves free to interfere without disrupting the system? Does it also allow several bosons to exist at the same point in space as particles at the same time? Can an infinite number of bosons fit in a point in space time? What about mesons? Will the fermionic properties of quarks prevent this? Also how come the interference of bosons (photons) as observed by the double-slit experiments doesn't affect the system but the interference of fermions does? Why does interference from half integer particles cause disruption of the quantum system but interference from whole integer particles does not? Isn't spin just a matter of speed after all?

1 AnswerVideo & Online Games9 years agoDoes Quantum Foam cause quantum phenomena, or vice-versa?
Are the wave-particle properties of quanta, the presence (or equally lack-thereof) virtual particles, and other quantum phenomenon what leads space time to blend into a foam, or is space time innately a foam at quantum levels (if so, why?), and this apparent instability in short-term space and time which lead to the emergence of quantum phenomenon?
In other words, chicken or egg?
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoSpeed of Light & Frame of Reference?
I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding this.
Say I am in a spaceship traveling at 99.999% of C, traveling along a light beam. I would still see the beam pass me at the speed of C, right? Why is this? Is this because dialation effects (length contraction, etc, as well) require an object to have a rest-mass to be displaced from, and the photon has no rest-mass, and thus is not effected by these changes? (Does that mean photons are singularities?).
What would an observer at rest mass see us as? Would they see me traveling almost neck-and-neck with the beam, or would it be passing me from his PoV at 1.99999 C?
Also, how would one explain variations in the situation seen between the observer and I? If we had a mutual point in space time that we were using as a marker, he would see a photon that is maybe a few feet ahead of the ship, but I would see something that would be light minutes ahead of me?
3 AnswersPhysics9 years agoIn E=mc^2...why "c"......?
How did Einstein come to understand that the constant to equalize mass and energy was the speed of light squared? Why this particular constant? And how can this relationship be broken down in words? Is the energy contained in a given mass the multiple of that mass accelerated to c^2 (even though that physically occurring is impossible? How does "c^2" acting on mass cause the energy to be described?
How can "c^2" even be a factor if "c+1" is impossible?
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoIf FM means "Frequency Modulation" How Come We Can Tune To One Frequency To Listen To Them?
If FM radio is transmitted through modulating the frequency, how come we can tune to only one frequency to listen to them? Wouldn't the signal constantly be going in and out depending on how the signal is modulated?
5 AnswersOther - Electronics9 years agoLight Spectrum, Absorbtion, and Visibility.?
1. How are atoms and molecules able to absorb electromagnetic radiation that is of a larger wavelength than their electrons' physical size? As in, anything bigger than X-ray and gamma? (Is it wave-particle duality? The photon reverts to a particle when being absorbed or emmited?).
2. Aren't some small bacteria smaller than certain wavelengths of visible light? Does that mean they'd be invisible (or black) if an observation light of that color was shown on them?
1 AnswerPhysics9 years agoReal vs. Virtual Particles?
Do the particles that particle accelerators are hoping to create, like the Higgs Boson, count as real or virtual particles? I know that all the interactions that we experience everyday, such as the electromagnetic force involve the exchange of virtual photons, or quarks being held together by virtual gluons, and nuclei by virtual mesons.
With that said, are there any "real" force carrier particles? Or are they only created when needed, and pop out of existence again when they are no longer needed in a system? Are photons emitted as light the exception? And if so, why? Is it because they are a release of energy rather than actually carrying the EM force? Can gluons/W+- and Z bosons exist in a non-virtual state, as well?
Also, why do we need a particle accelerator to create a Higgs (virtual or real)? Why not attempt to make instrumentation that can detect the exchange of virtual Higgs in everyday matter?
To wrap it up: What makes a particle virtual or real? Can force-carriers exist in non-virtual states? And what would the Higgs be classified as if it is created in the LHC?
