  • Burmese python problem feeder?

Okay so heres the situation, our male burm was born last june (2010),.... He was showing signs of being a problem feeder from the beginning so our friends that are reptile experts and owners of the shop we purchase all our lizards and snakes from took him in, and within 3 weeks got him feeding (he had gone almost 5-6 weeks without eating prior to this) .... When we got him back we had a few problems but after about a week or two he shed and then ate....

He started eating perfectly and was bulking up nicely but we have recently moved house 2 months ago now and he has not eaten since!!!! We have tried small mice, medium mice, weeners, rats ect. still no luck and this is what he was eating before!!!

Now i know that you need to allow a snake to settle of which the period usually takes between 1 week to 3, but it is getting ridiculous now!

He has shed since being here meaning he must have grown some since his last feed a few months ago just before we moved, but he is alot smaller than he should be for a nearly 1 year old burm!

All i am asking is for some tips that people have or advice from experience with a problem feeder PYTHON! This is because not all species are the same and pythons are known as problem feeders...period!

Any help wil be much appreiciated...

    Thanks for reading

  • me and my husband are desperately wanting a baby but i have bad PCOS....?

When me and my husband first met i wasnt aware the reason why my periods were so irregular was because i had PCOS, i was rushed into hospital by ambulance one day when i was really poorly which is when i had a scan and it was revealed. It never really affected us as we were not ready for that as yet but soon after i was told about the unlikeliness of my being able to concieve naturally because of how bad it is. To top this off i suffer from an abnormality in my bones in my legs and feet and have just been told i have cavo varus syndrome which causes club feet. This really does not help me being able to exsercise one bit and i now need more surgery to correct what they did wrong in a last batch of operations, ive been told im not allowed to excersise because it could cause problems in the theatre if something happens. So ive put alot of weight on due to comfort eating, as although i was told i couldnt concieve I DID....But unfortunately before i knew i was carrying, i suffered a terrible miscarriage. Me and my husband are now obviously married, which was a rush although we'd been together 3 years we wanted to wait until we could afford the perfect wedding. But we were told i had to have emergency surgery on another problem of mine and to bring the wedding forward. Ive always told my husband and family it doesnt bother me i dont want children just yet im only 22...But i do! It rips me up when i see my sisters and there children, i just want my own to care for and love... Me and my husband dont use contraception and never have, and i know if i was to fall pregnant or to suggest trying to my husband he would be over the moon. But nothings happening. I know i have to loose weight and i am trying to, i hardly eat and im sick every day (not by my own fault, the doctors just cant figure out why, ive always been like it), Soo after this long message im just wanting to know if any women out there have any tips for concieveing naturally, im willing to try anything but not to be told you have to loose weight, do this do that and then try. I know a hell of a lot of people who have done it without all this. Obviously i will do it but thats not what i want help with... So please any tips, advice, remedies ANYTHING...Please just suggest below! Thank you :)

  • Any tips on feeding a problem feeder burmese python?

We have a baby burm, he is approx. 4 months old and looks healthy. When we went to feed him the first time needed once we got him we had nothing but trouble in store he didnt want the food and for the next 3 attempts he would act like it was a teddy to him and befriend it! So we took him to a local reptile expert who kept him for 3 weeks and managed to get him feeding. We now have him home and have had for the last 1 week. We have since tried to feed him with no luck AGAIN! He is on frozen rat pups and we are looking for any advice, tips or techniques anyone may have...Thank you

  • My burmese python bit himself at feeding time and isnt moving right...?

Our burmese python has just got home after 3 weeks spending time at our local reptile owners, due to him not feeding. He has now fed but we thought because his looking skinny we would feed him something. He went to strike and bit himself, his jaws locked on and we had to interfere to remove his jaw and teeth from himself. He starting shaking slightly and didnt move his jaw properly, he then reset his jaw quite a few times but he still is not moving around properly he seems to be in shock....This has been going on for around 2 hours now and we dont know what to do. We have a burmese python expert on his way around although its late. But just wanted to see if anyone has seen or had this problem before. Im really worried about him, he has started to move slightly now but is still restricting his movements on the part he accidently bit. Can this kill him? Could it cause serious harm? and what could have caused this?? Any answers very much appreciated.
