Should I finish my AA Degree or just quit?
Long story made short: Right out of HS I went to university on a partial scholarship based on ACT/SAT scores. Did well the first month or so, then got bored and quit going to class. Grades fell...lost scholarship...transferred to community college. After a few years at CC, finally got diploma in office education (after at least 3 program changes; I always started out doing really well, then got bored and quit). This fall, I got a wild hair and enrolled in CC again to finish AA degree, with possibility of going to for bachelor's. I work full time, carry 13 credits and a 4.0 for the semester, which ends next week. I have 18 credits left after this semester, but the problem is....I have absolutely zero intent of ever using my AA degree for anything. There is no major which interests me enough to study it for 2 more years, and I absolutely can not just continue with college for the sake of getting a General Studies degree. I guess my farm upbringing doesn't allow for doing something just for the sake of being able to say I did it...it has to serve a purpose.
Would you continue toward the AA degree, or would you just cut your losses? I'm not talking about "maybe someday in the future I'll want to get my bachelor's degree". I think about the money I could make with a bachelor's degree (or better), but I honestly can't see how it could be worth it. Oh, and I'm 38 years old and have been in the workforce full-time since 1994. In all this time, I can't think of one "degree required" job that I wanted.
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoIs the Bones season finale really stupid?
Granted, it's only about 12 minutes into it, but it just seems really, really stupid to me thus far. This whole season has been a disappointment, but tonight's episode is just dumb!
Doubt the writers can pull this one back.
3 AnswersDrama1 decade agoWhat are college-level history classes like?
What are the typical assignments? Are classes mostly lecture or discussion?
I'm thinking about going to college to major in history, possibly even grad school eventually.
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhy do they do this to themselves?
Why do people post pictures of themselves here, asking for critique on their looks, and then report people who don't tell them they are oh-so-beautiful.
The worst is when they say "be honest, I can take it." Obviously, they can't!
11 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style1 decade agoWhich brand of cat food for overweight cat?
I have 2 cats, one of which is really, really fat. Which brand of cat food do you recommend I use? There are several brands out there for for weight control. Most popular in my area are Science Diet and Iams.
25 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhat kind of snake is this?
I found a snake in our basement today. Our basement is cool & wet. The snake is small, about 1/2 an inch diameter at the widest point, and I'd guess about 12 inches or so long.
I have the snake in a glass jar (holes in the lid) to show my husband when he gets home, but I'm wondering what Jake would like to eat until Honey gets here? If it helps figure out what kind of snake this is, we have the occassional mouse in our house, and lots of Asian beetles and crickets.
After my husband sees the snake and is freaked out, I'm going to release Jake under the brussels sprouts in our garden. I just don't want Jake to get hungry in the meantime, he's been in the jar for about an hour now, & I don't expect Honey home until about another 1 1/2 hours or so.
6 AnswersReptiles1 decade agoDo you like Jitrnice?
Have you ever had jitrnice (Czech sausage traditionally made with the head of a hog, sometimes the liver, tongue, and/or heart are added also)?
Do you like it?
Have you ever made it yourself?
2 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoWhy does my cat always lick?
He's seven years old, neutered, and he keeps licking where his testicles used to be. It's not his butt-hole, it's where the jewels used to be. I thought maybe the area was just sore or something, so I've tried massaging it with baby oil, but it doesn't seem to help, he still licks! He seems to find comfort in it or something. He just won't stop licking where his testes would be.
My husband insists the cat is gay, and he wants to shoot him! He's such a loving cat, very cuddly, very much a lover.
I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas how to stop him from licking himself? I'll try just about anything!
Please, no mean people reply. This is a serious problem!
