Hi there. I am a 21 year old female trying to get into acting. I live in NY. I have just gotten headshots and am completely unsure where to go from here. I really need some advice. I have absolutely no idea on how to find an agent. Is it going to be as difficult as they say to find representation? My resume has almost nothing on it outside of training and some work as a background actor and I'm non-union of course. Should I just look in Backstage for auditions open to anyone and hope for the best? Please help me. I don't know what to do, I am determined but everything just seems to send me around in circles. Besides Backstage, what are other good ways to find out about auditions/find an agent? Help!

I'm moving to NYC from Chicago next month. I'm a 23 year old female writer, known for being a social butterfly where I'm from, but the problem is I only know a couple people in the city and they are not really into going out. What is a good way to integrate myself into the social scene? How do I find out about the hottest places to go, restaurants, gallery openings, events, etc? I'm worried I'll feel uncomfortable showing up to places alone. Please only reply if you really know the city well. Thank you!

Hey, this weekend my friend and I are visiting NYC this Friday. Usually we go to some of the clubs in the Meatpacking District like Griffin or Tenjune. This time we really don't feel like spending a ton of money and dealing with a possible tough door, but we also don't want to go to a dive bar.

Can someone recommend mid-level places? Not the swankiest, most expensive, hard to get in places like Griffin... and not a dive, but somewhere in between? Like, a nice place with moderate prices where you can have fun and drink, more of a bar/lounge than a dance club? With a young crowd too, we are both 22. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I am looking for some vintage/thrift/consignment spots to hit in Manhattan this week. I am not talking places where you walk in and a blouse is $50 and jackets are $200 and above. I'm not looking for vintage Chanel suits or anything like that. I want reasonably priced to cheap places. I know everything here is expensive but the decent prices must be hidden somewhere, I just don't know the city well enough yet. Thanks.

I understand how to simplify fractions for the most part but I am confused with these problems:

If I do 1/4 + 2/9, I come up with 17/36. In trying to simplify that, I don't know what to do because there is no common factor. Nothing goes into 17 that also goes into 36 except for 1. I am stumped.

I'm having the same problem when I add 1/9 + 1/2. Nothing goes into both 9 and 2 evenly so I can't even add them. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. First person to help me understand gets best answer, please help!

Hi everyone. So I'm a natural blonde but it's usually a bit of a darker blonde. Last night I used a Feria hair color to color it platinum. It looks alright, VERY light, but it's a little too yellow/golden still.. I want it to be more like Marilyn Monroe.. or Gwen Stefani.. more white blonde. What should I do next? Pleasedon't say "just bleach it"... I want to use a hair color kit and I don't want to go to a salon. Thank you

Hi everyone... I hope some tech expert can help me with this. Back in the early 90's we had a camcorder that recorded videos onto these miniature VHS tapes. You had to put the little VHS tape inside a regular sized VHS tape with an opening in it in order to play it on your VCR. i am hoping someone knows the name of the larger tape, because ours is lost. I am hoping I will be able to find one on ebay or something so we can watch our home movies again. Thanks

Hi guys, I'm turning 21 this april and I want to go clubbing in manhattan with my friend on my birthday which is a friday. we are both two good looking girls & we will be dressed up, so i've heard that we most likely won't have too big of a problem getting in. however, I have never been clubbing before so i just would like some tips. some clubs we are interested in are bungalow 8, tenjune, marquee, guesthouse, home, 1oak, touch, pacha, etc. we want a fun, dance, upscale but not too stuffy atmosphere. don't mind paying a cover but if it's more than $25 forget it, and no bottle service or paying for a table.

Hi everyone, I need help with a gift for my mom this Christmas.

She has a Nissan Altima, and the CD player in her car does not work. I want to buy her a portable CD player we can hook up and use in the car. She is getting a new car within months, so it does not have to be the best/most expensive CD player out there, just a good one to last awhile.

Hi, I worked as a waitress for 5 years from age 15-20, I got the job because my dad's friend was the owner. Now I've moved and I am trying to find a job as a waitress in a fine dining location. Since I didn't have to interview before I have no idea what to expect. I assume the five years experience will put me ahead of other people trying to get the job.
