Does anyone know of any online support groups to help parents cope with the loss of a child?
I gave birth to my little boy on November 12 but unfortunately he was stillborn (passed away on November 10).
I was wondering if anyone knows about any online support groups. I find talking about it helps to ease the pain but I find it a lot easier to type how I feel than actually verbalize it. I do have friends I can talk to but I fear that I may become repetitive and then nobody will want to talk to me anymore or spend time with me.
I've tried searching for forums or chat sites but I haven't been having any luck. My brain doesn't seem to want to function properly at the moment so that could be why.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you if you're able to help.
3 AnswersParenting8 years agoWhat is the best way to dry up milk completely?
I don't have any engorgement anymore, but it's been about three weeks now and it still hasn't fully dried up. Does anyone know of any tricks besides cabbage leaves? (Can't stand the smell and the research on them basically says they're nothing more than a placebo effect anyways.)
My sweet baby boy was stillborn so having this extra reminder really isn't helping with my grief...
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby8 years agoWhat exactly do contractions feel like?
Can anyone who's gone into labor try and explain what it feels like? I don't think I've been having any yet (I'm 28 weeks as of tomorrow) but yesterday when I was walking to the bus stop my stomach felt like it got really hard all of a sudden and I'm not sure what it was. It only happened once so I didn't think too much of it since baby is still kicking away as usual.
Anyways, what do contractions really feel like? I've heard they start at the top of the uterus and then spread downwards. But does it feel anything like the round ligament pain just in front in stead? Or is it completely different from that?
I'm more curious than anything at this point but I'd like to be prepared. This is my first time being pregnant so it's all new to me.
Thanks for taking the time to answer :)
7 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoHow can I stop my cat from acting out?
He's normally a pretty good boy (though I sometimes have trouble keeping him off the counter). He's going to be 6 years old next month, is neutered and has been happily living with our other cat who is almost 4 for about 3 years now.
Anyways, a couple of months ago I became pregnant and about a month after that he started to act out. He keeps peeing on the floor instead of in the litter box (which I clean daily and switch the litter out often and I clean up the floor as soon as I notice it. It's always in a different spot.) and he's also been a bit of a grump towards our other cat by growling at him sometimes and hitting him in the face (he's de-clawed so he's not hurting the other cat by any means). They also will get into fights almost every night this past week.
I'm not sure what to do. I've tried giving him extra attention in case he's jealous including cuddling him and playing with him (though that sometimes makes him cranky too). He's not injured at all, I've checked him over by pressing on basically every inch of his body without him even making a peep, he just purred as if I was petting him normally.
The weird part about all this is sometimes he acts perfectly normal and will cuddle with our other cat or bath him. Or they'll be sleeping on the couch and he'll suddenly go from cuddly to pushing the other cat off the couch abruptly (granted it looks fairly humorous but I still feel bad for my other cat).
Do you think he knows I'm pregnant and isn't happy about it? I've read that they can smell the change in hormones. My other cat doesn't seem to be acting any differently except for he enjoys cuddling against my stomach a bit more now.
Has anyone else ever had this problem? I would never get rid of him. He's a part of our family and we'll deal with it if we must but I would much rather correct the problem.
3 AnswersCats9 years agoDid you plan your own baby shower?
Or did a friend plan it for you?
Also, how far along where you when you had yours?
I'm only about 13 weeks along now so I know there's still lots of time. I'd like to have a baby shower but none of my best friends live near me so there isn't really anyone to plan it for me. Is it normal to plan your own shower or is it customary for someone else to plan it for you?
4 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting9 years agoWhat do you think of this name combo?
Alexander Jessy Paterson (for a boy)
Jessie Alexandra Paterson (for a girl)
or
Alexandra Jessie Paterson (also fir a girl)
Any other suggests are welcome :) I'm only about 7.5 weeks pregnant at the moment but it's nice to think about these things I think. (Also, both names have meaning to me but I'm open to opinion and suggestion)
8 AnswersBaby Names9 years agoIs baby brain a real thing?
Is it? I'm only about 5wks along right now but I feel as if my IQ has dropped. I catch myself saying or doing stupid things a lot the past couple of days.
Has this happened to anyone else?
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years ago(I know everyone hates these questions...) But could I be pregnant?
The last time I had my period was the end of March. My husband and I had sex shortly after and two days later I spotted for about a day. A couple weeks went by (about two and a half) I started feeling the odd cramp. They didn't feel the same as my period and I've read that it can be a symptom of early pregnancy, I also started feeling rather tired all the time. Another week and a half went by and I started feeling a bit nauseated at times but mostly just got heart burn, started getting mild headaches and have had to pee more often. My nipples also feel kind of sore now. I really thought I might be pregnant since I missed my April period as well. The only problem is, I think I just got my period. I've also read that sometimes women experience a lighter period after conception. Has this happened to anyone? Could I still be pregnant?
I only ask since pregnancy tests are rather costly (they don't sell them at the dollar stores in my area) and it takes days to get in to see my doctor.
I was so happy when I thought I was and now I'm feeling rather down.
1 AnswerPregnancy9 years agoHow expensive are smart cars to own?
I'm thinking of getting one but I'd like some opinions on those who have owned one or know someone who's owned one.
I know they're good on gas, but they're also electric. How much electricity do they take to charge up? Did you find that it cost more or less than filling up with a tank of gas?

In an overweight society did they really need to come up with an excuse for people to eat more?
