I've always wanted to organize my own community service project around Christmas time but I've never actually gone through with it. I have more support this year than past years but I have no idea what to do. I want it to be a one time thing, not something that i have to continue every year. I am aware of Salvation Army and Toys for Tots and all of those but I don't want to take part in a project, I want to start my own. Something small and local is all I'm looking for. it's just going to be me and my best friend (we're both girls) and considering prom is at the museum of science and industry in chicago, the whole going to the museum thing is out. we cant get a hotel. it'll be too cold for the beach, no amusement parks will be open and we dont have time to book a trip somewhere. what should we do?? we want to do something fun that we wouldnt normally do but are out of ideas.

I just got my braces off yesterday morning and I got two retainers (one upper, one lower) and last night I started getting a sore throat, this morning I woke up and the sore throat was still there. I also felt exhausted despite getting around 10 hours of sleep. The sore throat continued throughout the day and eventually lead to fever and nausea. When someone looked at my throat, I was told that it was really red but there were no white spots so that rules out strep. I wanted to know if this is normal after getting your braces off or getting a retainer. And how long does it last? Any ways to make the pain go away (I've tried a few sore throat medications and pain medications, neither seemed to have made a substantial difference)?
