  • runtime error 21 at 01C349D2?

My computer will pop up with an error message every 5-10 seconds that looks like runtime error 21 at 01C349D2 (some of them are different numbers, when I click on it my desktop disappears for 2-3 seconds (just a blue background) and then everything goes back to normal until a new error mesage comes up.

There aren't any options, I can either click ok or the "x" close button, both do the same thing. Everything still works, and I just saved all of my work onto a disk, but what's up with this thing? How do I fix it?

  • powerpoint question - files won't open from shortcuts can't make new files from desktop?

Ok, so this morning my powerpoint had somehow been upgraded from 2000 to 2003, but without a password, so I couldn't open anything. So I uninstalled the 2003 stuff, and now my powerpoint files on my desktop/folders do not show up as powerpoints. When I double click they give me the list of programs to open from, ppt is not one, when I browse to find it and click on it it doesn't do anything.

Also I used to be able to right click the desktop and make a new ppt and can no longer.

Tried looking at properties from the ppt icon and no help.

I can open all of the files still, I have to run the program and then open them from that.

So I have powerpoint working still, but I have all of these little weird issues that I can't figure out how to fix.

    Any ideas?

  • Concrete steps stay wet for a long time?

I just had new concrete steps put in and after it rains they stay wet for an extra day after all of the other concrete has dried. Is this bad or is this normal for new precast steps?

  • digital camera pictures in publisher?

I took a bunch of pictures with a digital camera at school, and transferred them into a file on publisher. Now that I'm home, publisher just opens up all of them as one thing and I don't know how to get them and open them up in powerpoint or do anything with them. I can't seem to copy them or do anything.

How can I transfer pictures from publisher to powerpoint? I can't even isolate one picture at this point.

  • Our insurance agent messed up our address for changing our insurance policy...?

I have an agent and he works through a couple insurance companies. he wanted to switch us to save us money, but he put the wrong address and we still owe 200 to start the policy. But our current policy ends tonight, are we going to be ok to drive tomorrow? I can't get ahold of my agent because they take off at like 3 in the afternoon. I didn't know the policy was going to end tonight and my wife has to drive to work tomorrow.

I also can't get ahold of anyone from the company. Any suggestions or reassurances?

  • need advice for learning math for physics?

I'm trying to learn more math, possibly for the purpose of getting graduate degrees in physics later in life. I'm good at math, but I would say somewhat undereducated (took calc II, III and IV in college) and learned some math through chemistry/physics classes.

I'm trying to read a book on math for physicists, and I'm having a hard time keeping up with it (so far about analytical functions).

What are some other math topics I should learn that will be useful to being able to do physics later? I'd like to learn topology, but I heard that you need a lot of other math to do so. What are some good math books to read? Good math subjects to learn? Basic math subjects to learn?

    Thanks

  • excited about college football recruits?

Which top recruits are you excited to see this year or even next year?

I'm excited to see Ryan Mallett, I saw him at spring practice in Ann Arbor and he's going to set some records.

Also excited about Sam Mcguffie, he has some ridiculous skills.

  • Tycho Brahe musical contributions?

I thought I remembered my physics of music class having something in it about how astronomers and philosophers used to also do a lot of studies on music and I thought Brahe was included in that group. I can't find anything online about him making contributions to scales or music or anything. Does anyone know what he did (not the astronomy part or the many myths)?

  • Alternatives for Lou Holtz?

Anyone else besides me really want to take Lou Holtz, wrap him in duct tape so that he can't move and I can slap him whenever I please until he learns how to talk or stops trying to be a sports analyst (which requires speaking).

Anyone else besides me cringe today when you realized they ruined a perfectly good college football live show by having him on it?

  • Anyone else not buying Wisconsin in the big ten?

I know they did well last year, but that's based on them beating an ok Arkansas team and only losing to Michigan by two touchdowns.

I think Illinois has had better recruiting than them over the past four years and I just don't see them having the talent to take down the big ten. I'm a huge Michigan bias, but I see Penn State and Michigan being the two big contenders with osu in third. Penn State has a lot of talent and both them and Michigan have experienced offenses. With that said, no way Michigan loses to Penn State, we beat them every year.

But is anyone else surprised that so many people are jumping on the Wisconsin bandwagon? Camp Randall's not that loud, I see them finishing fourth or fifth in the big ten.

  • Great moments in chemistry class???

Has anyone ever had a chemistry or physics teacher do something amazing in class? I'm putting together some materials for my next year and I do a lot of explosions/reactions and stuff, but I'd like some cool ideas if you've ever seen any.

Also I'm currently working on building a bed of nails, has anyone ever had a teacher have a cinder block and have someone smash it with a sledgehammer while on a bed of nails? Who did they trust with the sledge?

    Thanks.

  • For all of those sick of creationism?

This article by the onion is hilarious I think. It's totally true which completely proves the point. By the way I am Christian and I do believe in creationism, but using evolution as the means, just like the bible says.

  • g,h, i orbitals?

In my quantum class I was told that after f orbitals there would be g,h and i orbitals. I would assume that g orbitals would therefor pop up in the 5th energy level and I was wondering how many more elements would have to be discovered before we got to one that has a g orbital occupied in its ground state? If it's close then do we have a scheme developed for a new periodic table arrangement?

  • Notre Dame?

Anyone else besides me sick of hearing about how many rivalries Notre Dame has? It seems like every game they play is a rivalry. Is calling Stanford a rivalry game just a ploy to make it look like they can win in rivalry games? Otherwise I don't get it.

  • BCS question?

I know a lot of people detest the BCS system, and I also know that most of us are not willing to stop watching college football or bowl games to boycott, but is there a way to boycott the sponsors?

I mean say coke was a sponsor, could we get Pepsi to run an anti-BCS campaign. I'd be willing to drink wild cherry pepsi instead of cherry coke if it had a shot of getting some playoffs for college football. Who else would be willing to do something like this or know a way to set up something like this?

  • CSI question?

Why is it on CSI they use phenolphthalein to test for blood at crime scenes? That makes 0 sense to me because any basic solution anywhere would appear to be blood. At first I thought they were using something else, but I've heard them say phenolphthalein twice on the show. I thought to do a check for blood you would have to have something that show up with Iron from the hemoglobin.

  • College football rankings?

Does anyone else think that it's crap that people rank based on schedules? Like when people vote Louisville/West Virginia high because they only have to win 1 game to go undefeated? Is it supposed to be who's most likely to go undefeated or who has the best team?
