Okay so I have been dating this guy for almost a year now and my father still wont meet my boyfriend. He avoids it the best he can, he is pretty anti-social, and he isn't the easiest person to talk to at the best of times. I am going to be 24 years old soon and I live at home still. Last night a wrench was thrown into the works when my boyfriend said he came to decision, saying that he wont see me until he meets my dad. I don't know what to do?!!? I doubt I can make my dad see him anytime soon, and that means all our Christmas plans are cancelled if I can't see my boyfriend. What can I possibly do to get this sorted out and back on the right track? I love my boyfriend, he is my best friend, my other half, and I cannot even consider the thought of breaking up. We are both frustrated with the way my parents are...what can I say to make this situation better? How can I start the conversation to ask my dad to meet my boyfriend?

I have been going out with my boyfriend for many months now (almost a year) and things are going okay. He is INCREDIBLE and I like him so much, but there is one thing about our relationship that has me feeling confused, sad, and frustrated. You see, last year he was going out with a girl who had a horrible form of cancer. She was basically the love of his life and his best friend. They were perfect for each other in every way. Then she wanted to break up because she didn't have much longer to live, so it wouldn't be as hard on him. It was a mutual agreement between the two. He tried to move on and started going out with me, but continued to visit her in the hospital and talk to her (which I was fine with). Then, the cancer unfortunately got the best of her and she passed away. :( He took it pretty rough and all I could do was be supportive and try to help him through it. It has been about ten months now since she died and he is still not over what happened and I'm not sure what to do at this point. I like him so much, I love him in fact...but he hasn't been able to say that yet to me. I know I can't expect him to just forget, and now that it's coming up on a year after her death, the anniversary will add some more salt to the wound...but I don't know what to do. I feel a little left out and I feel he's holding back and not being completely open with me. The other day he finally got in touch with her mom and they had lunch together. She treated him like a son. When I talked to him later on, he didn't mention a thing about it...and I was too hesitant to bring it up myself. I will be patient as long as I have to, but it's tough. It's the only thing about our relationship that makes me feel so distant.

Why is it that when we say the noise that crickets make...we say "cricket, cricket, cricket"... is that the only thing we use the same noise description as it's name?

Is anyone online right now that I can add to see if my messenger thing works? Everyone appears to be offline but they're not. Just wondering if this is a common problem. I'm even recieiving messages after they've been sent...sometimes days after...any ideas?

I have no idea what it's about and it's a european history assignment. I've tried looking on google...but I keep getting book results on eBay and Amazon...any help would be appreciated. It can be basic information too, so I can get heading in the right direction myself.

What is the name of this song from Top Gear?

It is played when you see the Audi S4 (the red car) when it cuts between the Audi and the Beemer...and you can hear it at about 3 minutes and 16 seconds into it. A friend of mine really likes this song and asked me if I knew it. (It's personally not my type of music so I have no idea!) I am hoping someone knows it...as I have looked everywhere. Her birthday's coming up and It would be great to tell her the name of that song.
