What can I say to my depressed boyfriend to help?
I love him to death but I'm constantly getting stressed out by him seeming to be fine and happy and then suddenly getting really depressed and angry. I'm not good at talking him out of his funks and just make it worse and make myself miserable. I was having a really great night, everything was going pretty good for me, then he IMed me and said he suddenly was horribly miserable. I've tried to get him to talk to someone about it but he refuses to. Now I feel like crying and crawling under the covers myself...
1 AnswerFriends10 years agoTranslation, possibly gaelic?
Lyrics from the song "Lughnasadh" from the band Omnia:
O híu Noshàh

It could be Gaelic but I believe the band is Norwegian... Anyone have any idea?
2 AnswersLanguages10 years agoHow to mod my camera to make it look like a make it look like a magical device?
I have a KODAK DX7590 and am trying to figure out a cheap way to make it look somewhat like a magical device or if nothing else slightly steampunk but magical would be better. I'm a LARPer and want to bring my camera but don't want the obvious anacronism to be, well, obvious.
I don't really want to spend more than $25 on this. I've looked at some steampunk tutorials but they are incredibly intense and involve power tools and sheets of brass and I can't afford that sort of thing not to mention lacking the skill... any advice would be helpful!

2 AnswersLanguages1 decade agobest FREE video editing software that is easy to use?
For some reason windows movie maker keeps glitching out on me and I'm getting rather tired of it. Is there any similar free software I can use? I generally make music videos and such, nothing too involved or needing a lot of effects.
Most of the video files I have are mp4 if that makes a difference!
2 AnswersOther - Visual Arts1 decade agoWhat is the name of this theory?
Was having a conversation with friends about how if a door is closed "does everything beyond the door exist?" and does it only manifest when the door is open and when the objects are observed. I know that there is a specific name or area of experimentation about this subject and cannot for the life of me remember what it is?
- I believe there was an experiment to the effect that observed beams of light/energy differed from unobserved ones?

If I plan to smoke fire in a trash can with saw dust what sort of clay should I buy? I'm planning to purchase Amaco clay (dry) and if anyone can link me to a specific clay I would be very happy!
3 AnswersSculpture1 decade agoCan someone help me out with this?
I dreamed that I was walking down a road that passed between two huge cemeteries. There were two funerals going one, one in each cemetery, and there were people dressed in medieval style clothing who had been hired to sing at each one.
As I passed the cemeteries the path entered a forest and a little boy who had been singing joined me. He asked me, “Doesn’t that hurt your feet?” I looked down and found that I was barefoot and that the road had turned to gravel and that there was snow on the ground even though the sun was shining and the trees and grass were all green. I answered, “Not really, it isn’t that bad.”
Then he asked me why I didn’t want to walk on the grass by the side of the road and I pointed out that there were little statues here and there and said I would have to jump over them to walk on the grass. He asked me about the statues and I explained that they were Dosojin, and were there to protect travelers.
He then held up a pouch full of money which he made from singing at the funeral. He said, “It was a good day today.” I shook my head and said, “For you maybe.”
“I guess you could see it that way.” he said. Then I woke up.
I have no idea what this could mean - anyone have any ideas?
2 AnswersDream Interpretation1 decade agoPagans - do you celebrate on the correct day, or when it's convenient?
I'm just wondering if other people have trouble celebrating the Sabbats or Esbats on the 'correct' day and celebrate at the nearest available time. It doesn't matter if you say you are just lazy lol, or if you have to work etc. - I'm just curious.

2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoHow much should I charge for embroidery?
I've begun doing some embroidered headbands and things and was wondering what a good price would be for them. I've only ever sold a couple of ceramics pieces and have no idea what something like my embroidery would go for. The hairbands take anywhere from 2-4 hours to make and large pieces considerably longer. Cost of material is minimal.
1 AnswerOther - Visual Arts1 decade agoPsych meds + alcohol?
I've never been much for drinking alcohol but I was given a very nice bottle of wine by a friend. I'm on seroquel and pristiq and I was wondering if having a glass or just a half a glass would be a problem?
3 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoPunishment for pretenders to a faith?
So I know a guy who pretty much changes his religion based on who he is dating. Dated a Wiccan for several years and posted that he was Pagan on his face book page and participated in things, going so far as to swear by 'his patron Deities' and now is dating a Catholic and is taking Confirmation classes. He's a pathological liar about a lot of other things but that is neither here nor there. Do you think that there is a divine punishment to be meted out for such things?

5 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoJapanese Translation?
Found an interesting quote and wondered if I could get it translated properly into Japanese since I believe it is a Japanese saying anyway: A crow crying is already laughing. I think it would be "さっきないたからすがもわらう" but I'm probably way off and I have no idea how to write it properly with kanji and not just hiragana in any case if i am right...
