How long has he got to live with stage 4 lung cancer.?
My dad has 4 secondary tumors in his brain, 2 in the lymphnode in his neck. They are biopsying the lymph node tomorrow to find out what kind of cancer. I already asked on this board about prognosis and was told it is terminal, my question is roughly how long are we looking at. I know I seem very ill informed, I am in the process of finding out as much as I can but he was fine and well this time last week and got a migrane and was told all this so I havnt had alot of time to research yet.
4 AnswersCancer8 years agoSurvival with a secondary brain tumor.?
My father has just been diognosed with 4 tumors in his head. They are not attached to anything (that makes no sense to me hoping someone knows what they mean by that) The fact that they are not attached makes the doctors think that they are secondary but they have not found the main cancer. What Im asking is does anyone have an idea about survival rates with this type of cancer
3 AnswersCancer8 years agoHow to deal with toxic family over Christmas.?
All of my family members are coming into town for Christmas at my home this year. They are not staying at my house as it is not big enough. They will be here for a week and during this time I will see quite a bit of them I'm sure. It is my sons first Christmas as well as his first birthday, the day after Christmas.
A bit of background. I have 2 sister one of which I get on fine with the other seriously hates me. She stole off me (the day of my sons funeral) tells other family members horrible lies about me and is basically a pretty horrible human being. We hardly ever speak, I have basically cut her off except for if I see her at my dads. She and her husband (who is somehow oblivious to his wife's lies) are coming down for Christmas week too. I only put up with her because the fact that we don't talk really upsets my elderly father and if I did not invite her I knew he would not come to his grandsons first xmas and birthday.
My question is how on earth can I firstly not loose it when she starts saying horrible things to me and secondly nip it in the bud before it starts. I have had to start antidepressants because I am so stressed about what will happen. I do not want my sons first Christmas ruined by family fighting.
5 AnswersFamily8 years agoHow to get husband to do yard work.?
My husband is not a lazy man, at work anyway he works night shift but only 3 nights a week. He sleeps alot. I also work full time and have a baby. My proble is he does nothing around the house, the only thing he does is put out the trash and then the bin sits on the drive for days before I yell at him to put it away. He is a great dad but I need help. Our neighbour just told me that him and our neighbour on the other side are going to clean up our yard because they are worried about snakes, Im so embarresed my husband does not seem to care. I do everything inside the house (which is pretty clean, the odd mess but thats life) I have a chronic injury and cannot lift anything heavy or do things like push a lawn mower or I would just do it myself. I have begged, cried, yelled nothing seems to work we cannot afford to pay someone to do it. How can I get him to do it regulary without it having to turn into a screaming match. Ive told him how much it upsets me and he acts like Im being a drama queen.

3 AnswersMental Health9 years agoMother In Law taking over sons first birthday party.?
I know that in the scheme of things this really is not a big deal but I have to admit it irritates me a bit. My sons first birthday is coming up and we have arranged a big party for him, we are inviting all the extended family etc. We are holding the party the day after his actual birthday, because it will be on the weekend. I told my mother in law that we would come to her house for lunch on his actual birthday if she would like that. ( I ment DH me and our son) Anyway now she wants to throw him a full on party, with all her side of the family (whom I was inviting to the actual party anyway) I know if they come to the lunch they are not going to want to come to a party the next day as well. Am I being stupid asking her to just make it us. I waited 14 years for him and I really want to be the first one to throw him a party.
11 AnswersFamily9 years agoDreading Christms- how can I stop dramas?
It's really sad to say this, it is my sons first Christmas and I am making myself sick thinking about it already.
A little background. I have 2 sister and a dad, my mom died a while ago. One sister I get on great with the other is a *****. She stole off me on numerous occasions and tells others horrendous things about me and other family members. She married this guy who is either stupid or just does not care that she is an habitual liar.
My problem is my pop is elderly and is desperate for us all to spent the day together. I did not want to hurt him and so agreed to host the day at my house. I just know that she is going to do everything possible to ruin my sons day, as she does not have kids and is so jealous of the fact that I do ( after 3 stillbirths and trying for 14 years we finally go a son) its only October and I am sick about what to do. I cannot tell her not to come. I need help can anyone suggest any ways that I can keep the calm in my house. I have invited a couple of other people who are not family in the hopes that she will be on her best behaviour around them and will limit the amount of alchol. Her husband does not help the situation, last year he carried on because he did not like the present we got for him and threw it in the rubbish. Any suggestions appreciated, I want to remember my babys first Christmas as a joyful occasion.
2 AnswersFamily9 years agoHas anyone travelled on Voyger of the seas?
My husband and I are considering taking a cruise on royal carribeans Voyger of the seas from singapore to sydney next year. I am wondering if anyone has been on this ship and what their impression was. Is it a good choice for a small child? Is the kids water park behind the kids club open to parents to take their kids in or do the kids have to be enrolled in the kids club to us it ( our son will only be 21 months at the time. Will we be able to take him to bingo and the shows and things like demonstrations that are held in bars during the day?

1 AnswerOther - Destinations9 years agoBreast Needle Biopsy?
I found a lump in my breast, the doctor did an fine needle biopsy. The results came back as no trace of melignancy. She wants to remove the lump under surgery this Monday. I am wondering how accurate are the needle biopsy if it was negative for cancer what are the chances they will find something bad when they get in there. I had a mammogram and they said that the lump looked like fat necrosis.

3 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoNot sending thank you cards?
I live in Australia and I am wondering if it is just something that is going on her or is it everywhere and what is your opinion on it. In the last 10 years Ive probably sent 100s of birthday/wedding/baby gifts and I could count on my fingers the amount of times Ive gotten a thank you card. What is going on, its so rude. Before you flame me I always send thank you cards and no Im not at home doing nothing I work full time, study and have a 7 month old so how come if I can do it others cant. Am I just old fashioned or is it incredibly rude not to acknowledge a gift.
7 AnswersEtiquette9 years agoAsking for money as a wedding gift.?
Is it just me or do other people find it incredibly rude when people ask for money as a wedding gift. I got an invitation to a wedding with a little card in it saying they were not accepting gifts only cash because they had everything they need. And then they did not even send out thank you cards. In my opinion a gift should be whatever the person decides to give you.

5 AnswersChristmas9 years agoIs she pretending to have cancer?
Hi I know this is going to make me sound like a horrible person but it is driving me insane. My sister has a long history of compulsive lying. She steals off family members and basically no one trusts her. A bit of background she is 39 and does have a form of muscular dystrophy which has meant she has been in and out of hospital all her life. This form is not life threatening but painful and debilitating none the less.
Even when we were kids it was hard to trust "K" she used to lie about everything and steal and sadly that hasn’t changed with age.
Anyway her first cancer scare was 2001 when she had breast cancer, she told us they found a lump I know she did have a biopsy but then it gets weird. She did oral chemo at home, never lost any hair and wasn’t sick, in fact she ate like a horse during this time. She did not have radiation or have I ever seen a scar or dint where she was supposed to have had the lumpectomy. (I’m asking anyone that knows is this all normal or does it sound a bit strange)
Ok second cancer said she found a lump under her arm in 2007 and was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Again no radiation and claims of chemo but no hair loss or sickness.
This week she found a lump on her arm between the wrist and elbow and went to the doctor who she said did a needle biopsy but said it was inconclusive but was pretty sure it was cancer. Is it just me or does all this seem too strange. She claims to be cured of both breast cancer and Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The strangest thing about all these things is that each cancer coincides with something she wanted. My grandfather died a few months before the breast cancer and she was living rent free in his home and my parents were going to put it on the market but suddenly they couldn’t because she lived there and was sick. 2nd time my mother died and two weeks later she had cancer again and she kept saying mom wanted her to have her brand new car when she died. (My dad didn’t give in to her) Now this time she has just been caught out in a huge lie by another family member and half the family aren’t talking to her and it almost feels like this is her way of getting them back on side.
I probably sound like the most horrible sister in the world but I have many reasons to distrust her things like when my son died and she stole money off us the day of his funeral.
I would welcome any advice but please don’t flame me I’m honestly not a horrible person I just need to sort this out all these scares are killing my elderly father.I live on the other side of the country so cant go to appointments with her. There is no outward fighting I never confronted her about the stealing or anything. The only reason I want to get to the bottom of it is for my fathers sake, he is beside himself thinking she is going to die and if she really is sick I do want to help her and if she is not then I want to get her the psyciatric help that she needs. Im not asking to catch her out.
