  • HELP!! Is this black mold?

Hi, I need help to identify whether this is black mold or not? Also, this was already here when we rented the house. We never noticed until we moved in, I guess they had it covered but the landlord is responsible to fix this right?

  • possessive/overprotective dog?

Hi there, I have a 8 month Husky/Lab cross who has suddenly become overprotective and quite possessive. He never used to be this way. But recently when other dogs come near me (especially when I have treats or his ball) he snaps at the other dog. Or when he is playing with his ball another and another dog comes near, he snaps too!! Otherwise he is very friendly and gets along with dogs all sizes. He is very socialized with people and other dogs and it wasn't just until recently that he has started to become like this.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? And what can I do to teach him not to do this?

  • My puppy is agressive after his neuter?

Hi! So we just got our 6 month husky/lab cross neutered last Friday, its been exactly 11 days. He got his stitches removed yesterday and we took him for a walk at the park where he started to play with other dogs. Well he started to fight with another female dog. And started growling at another dog. What gives? Before his neuter we had trained him so much and he was so well behaved and loving to everyone and every dog and now im scared to take him out again. If this is his 'teenager' stage, how long does this typically last and what can i do?

    Thanks!

  • My 6 month dog has a scab on his neck?

I just noticed right now on my dogs neck. He has so much hair around the neck which is why I'm just noticing this now. I am almost positive that this is from last weekend when i took him to the dog park, another dog was being really rough with him and my dog started crying. I took him away and noticed blood on him but i could not find a wound. I assumed that it might have been from another dog teething becUse it happens often. But now i am thinking that the other dog probably bit him. It is now scabbed and seems to be healing. He cannot reach it to lick or anything but im assuming of course he can scratch it but i dont think he has. Any advice on what i should do, if anything? I tried looking this up online but all i could find was tick bites and scabs from fleas etc

  • legal advice for dispute regarding my dog (Vancouver, Canada)?

This may be a little long.. My dog recently got into some trouble with another dog. This is what happened. My husband took our dog for a walk and momentarily unleashed our dog (4 month husky/lab) to fix his leash and saw our neighbor's dog (10 yr old shihtzu) and sniffed him, that dog suddenly barked and bit our dog, and our dog being a puppy and nervous, nipped back at him. The owner then realized what was going on (she was texting on her phone) and pulled vigorously at the leash and her dog yelped in pain. Her dog ended up dislocating his hip. I went to the Vet with them and paid for the check-up and Xray. I want to add that her dog is already severly sick. She mentioned that he has liver disease and has eye issues and was currently on a lot of medications. She mentioned that for the past year it has been noting but stress and they have maxed out their pet insurance. So they told me I had to pay for surgery and took the dog to a different vet. I told them that I will not because my PUPPY did not cause that injury to their dog, they inflicted that imjury to their OWN dog. She said she would contact me later. That night, she called me and said that the surgery will be $2000. I told her that I will not pay for it, she told me that either they take care of surgery or they have to put the dog down and if they have to put their dog down, we have to do ours as well. Well I panicked and called several pet hospitals and they were not aware of this. So I called her back and she told me that her mom decided to put the dog down. Now, they are charging me $280 for putting down their dog. Am I legally responsible for this? I've asked Animal Control Officers and they cannot legally tell me because ti's a civil dispute. Would I win this case if they take it to small claims court?

  • My 4 month puppy sleeps all night?

Hi there! I have a 4 month husky/lab cross puppy. He is such an obedient perfect little puppy. I am just worried that I've read mostly that dogs can only hold their pee for the number of months they are plus 1 which means he should only be able to hold it for 5 hours but he just sleeps all night and probably doesn't go for 7-8 hours. I just want to know if this is healthy or is he holding his pee to please me but it could be internally damaging him?

When I wake up he doesn't really go right away either so I am guessing this is a sign that he's not forcing himself to the point it hurts?

He is trained enough to have his crate open at night so he is more than welcome to wake us up but he doesn't.

I just want to know if this is okay for his bladder :)

    THANKS!

  • Really Itchy 8 week puppy?

We have had our puppy now since Saturday. He is about 8 weeks old and is a Husky X, sadly they did not know the father but it was most likely a Labrador as he looks more like a lab than a husky at the moment. He was scratching a lot when we first brought him home but we figured it was because he had a couple of scabs (probably from rough play with his brothers and sisters) but now he is excessively scratching to the point that I'm worried. He's constantly scratching his whole body and gnawing on his arms and legs from itchiness. I don't know what to do? Anyone else have this experience? What should I do? Anyone know what this might be and any remedies to solve it? He has an appointment with the vet in a couple of weeks so I want to see if I could resolve this now first or move up his appointment for his shots.

  • Can I take my puppy outside before his sets of shots?

I live in an aparmtent building and just got a 8 week old puppy so unfortunately I do not have access to a backyard. He has his first set of shots already but I'm afraid to take him outside. I've fenced a part of my balcony which we have been using to train... but I really want to take him out to do his business... Would this be safe? Anyone have any recommendations? We tried using training pads which did not work out and I don't want him to get used to doing it inside.

  • using training pads for my puppy then adjusting to outside?

Hi, I live in an apartment and my puppy is 8 weeks. He obviously has not had all the shots yet so I do not want to take him outside and I am using training pads. I would like to know if anyone else has done this before and then switched to taking them outside once they are properly vaccinated. Is it hard for them to adjust? Or any advice on how I could do this?

    THANKS!!!! :)
