  • Is Venus Flytrap nectar edible?

Sources I can find all say that the Venus Flytrap lures in flies with sweet nectar, then digests them with *another* fluid. So, these flytraps have a sweet nectar, which isn t directly involved in the digestion process.

Can I harvest it and use it on my pancakes? Or sweeten my coffee with it?

  • Atheists, How do you feel about death?

I want to know what your attitude is towards death:

Is it depressing to think that your consciousness will just disappear forever?

How does it make you feel to consider dying?

How do your beliefs on this affect the way you live your life?

How do you cope with the idea that your existence is so temporal?

Does it mean that you think your consciousness lacks value? If not, from what do you derive the value of a human being?

Thanks a bunch! Serious answers only, please :)

  • How do I decompile a ".com" file?

    By "decompile", I mean:

MINIMUM: I would like to extract a list of hexadecimal assembly instructions from the file.

IDEAL: I would like to extract human readable source-code from the file.

By ".com file", I mean the old old old type of executable file, used with MS Dos systems.

See this link for info on .com files:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/COM_file

I Googled it, but "decompile" is used very often in the context of "jar" and "exe", and .com is almost never mentioned in the context of executable files. My Googling was unsuccessful, so I came here.

  • Where can i find an adapter to split 3.5mm (mic/head phone all in one) to 3.5mm mic + 3.5mm headphone.?

So... I've got some headphones with just one 3.5mm jack, which works for both the speakers and mic when I plug it into my cell phone.

Since it's just one jack, I can only fit it into one 3.5mm plug on my computer (either headphones or mic, but not both).

I want to use it as headphones and a mic on my computer, so I need to split it into two 3.5mm jacks (one for headphones, and one for mic).

Also, what's the name for this difference in 3.5mm jacks?

    Thanks!

  • Are there any Christian revivals happening?

I don't mean x, y, or z traveling church delivering "revival" and saving 10 people. I don't care about the 100 new members in the church of New Jesus Town, Bible-belt state. I mean like a real revival, complete with wide-spread miracles, whole cities of new believers, and lives being changed for the better. Like.... Ireland in the 1800s.

Does that even happen anymore? If so, where in the world is it?

If it's not happening, where was the most recent one?

  • Looking for slow, decision-based PC video game?

I'm looking for a PC game where I can just start a task (or whatever) and then do a few homework problems, and then hear a noise or something to indicate that the game needs my attention again. Then I give the game like 5 minutes of attention and come to a point where I can wait and do more homework.

I like all sorts of games. Strategy, RPG, FPS (although I can't imagine FPS working here), etc.. any genre is ok.

The game doesn't have to have any depth of plot or anything. I just want a brief distraction in-between homework problems. Preferably games that can play in a window, but it's not a requirement. One game I tried that worked ok was Civilization.

Are there any other good games you can recommend like this?

  • Sometimes Korean characters show, other times they don't. Help?

I'm running Win 7 Ultimate. I've installed Korean as a display language and a keyboard input language.

Depending on where I'm typing, they may or may not show up. On some websites (like facebook) I cannot see 너, 네, 뇨, and 냗, to name just a few (they don't all start with ㄴ). On notepad I can't see any.

I've tried deleting C:\Windows\System32\FNTCACHE.DAT and restarting, and it didn't help.

I think it "MIGHT" be some Unicode font I still need to install, but I don't know where to get those. Any help? Other ideas?

  • What's the difference between a single tilde and double tilde approximation?

You know... a "tilde" is that "~" squigly. What's the difference in math when you put a single tilde (~) or double tilde (like a squigly "=" sign) down to mean "approximately"?

  • Is Christianity Cool?

    Is it cool..RIGHT NOW?

Just curious. I Googled it and all the answers were links to Tolstoy's War and Peace.

    No books please, just answers.

(Well... you know... you can include some explanation if you want....)

  • Looking for a heavily story-driven PC game?

I'm looking for something with a variable pace, (maybe an RPG,) something that has slow moments, but also has good action sequences; fun fights. Something difficult, but not so difficult that I'll have to spend 8 hours on one quest. I'm usually pretty busy with school, so it'd be cool if I could finish one big story movement in a 2 to 3 hour sitting and then stop playing for a week and pick up where I left off. Also, I'd prefer something with really good graphics, but it can be old if it's good --system reqs are a non-issue. Multiplayer is a plus, but not necessary.

Oh, and I really like character developing games, like where I get to level up a class and choose my Character's skills.

    Games I like:

-I've really enjoyed all the Final Fantasy games, especially 7 and it's extras (Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, and Before Crisis) but I haven't played the PC Final Fantasy's because I don't want to pay for a monthly subscription.

    -Zelda

    -Kingdom Hearts

-Gears of War and Dynasty Warriors and COD[NAZI ZOMBIESXDXD] and all of the Ratchet and Clank series for their gameplay, but I didn't pay attention to the story in any of them.

-Freelancer was great, but I didn't like how I was stuck in a ship the whole time. And when I moved on to online play, there were too few options in the original so I downloaded the most popular mods, but the mods made it impossible to do anything solo (unless I wanted to use the Star Trek mod, which would just hurt my self-esteem)

-Borderlands had great character development, awesome multiplayer, and fun gameplay, but IMO, the story was lacking.

-Day of the Tentacle --it's a classic. Same with Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry. I could almost go with a game like these, except that there's no fighting in them.

-C&C, OpenLieroX, and Commander Keen are great fun, but kindof unrelated to this question...

    Games I don't like....

-Jack and Daxter (It took me like a month and a half to beat the last boss, and I couldn't just "level up" a few times until I could overpower him. It frustrated me.)

-Mafia Wars --PLEASE don't suggest any browser games

-Tribal Wars --or games with strict online communities and rules about how often you should play.

-anything that I have to pay weekly/monthly/yearly fees to play

Thanks much! and thanks for reading all this! I'd really appreciate any suggestions^^
