She only wants to be friends after the first date, what do I do?
Last Saturday I went on a date with a girl I met on okcupid. The date itself went ok. We walked around and talked and had good, fairly interesting conversations. I text her today (about 3 days later) and she says she wants to be friends. I'm an intelligent and talented guy, and as far as I can tell, I'm a good catch! What did I do wrong?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating7 years agoCannot find solo part for Bach's D minor concerto?
I've looked everywhere. IMSLP, Barenreiter's website, numerous other sheet music sites, as well as my university library.
I've found full scores, study scores, reductions, parts for strings...
but no solo harpsichord part. Why can't I find it? I just want the solo part, that's it! This is driving me crazy!
1 AnswerClassical7 years agoReviving an old win-xp laptop. Which OS? (xp vs linux)?
I'm reviving an old toshiba satellite (2004) laptop. I'm hoping to do some light work and browsing on it. Specs are: celeron processor@1.5 GHz, 256MB RAM, 60GB HDD, original OS is win-xp home edition.
Should I stick with the original win-xp OS, or should I go with a lightweight linux package? I'm going for speed here, but I'm not sure if it's worth it seeing as xp seems to have a lot more support. So if speed increases aren't going to be significant I might as well stick with xp.
What do ya'll think?
14 AnswersSoftware7 years agoIs the "majic" brand of red oxide primer any goodand is it wet-sandable?
I'm repainting a vintage bike. I've bought a couple of sporay cans of the "Majic" brand red oxide primer.
Has anyone used this primer before? Is it wet-sandable? I need to wet sand it, and the paint to get the smooth finish that I want.
I bought it for fairly cheap and have already started applying it to my chainguard. Does anyone have any suggestions/reviews of this primer?
I also bought paint of the same brand.
If there's anyone who used this brand of primers/paints, I'd appreciate a review or suggestion.
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)7 years agoNeed a computer book for my mom. Any recommendations?
My mother keeps asking me to show her how to do stuff on her computer. She doesn't even know basic things like folders, internet searching, bookmarks, the list goes on and on.
Every time I try and teach her it just doesn't stick no matter how many times I explain it. She forgets almost instantly. IT'S SO FRUSTRATING!! It's like she cannot learn or simply does not want to.
Is there a book, tutorial series, blog, anything out there that's any good at teaching older people computer basics? Her computer runs windows 7, so I prefer that whatever tool/book I get her will be relatively up to date. It would also be nice for her to have a sort of reference manual that she can look to when she inevitably forgets.
1 AnswerOther - Computers7 years agoSpray-on Primer vs brush-on Primer?
I'm restoring and repainting a vintage bike. When I'm repainting it (after stripping to bare metal) should i use a spray can primer or a paint can primer? I want the smooth coat of a spray-on primer, but I had bad luck with spray on primers in the past. Will a paint-on primer give me a comparably smooth coat? Probably not, right? Are there any spray-on primers that anyone's tried that give good results?
Cheers, L
4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)8 years agoWhich is the sexiest-smelling body wash?
So this is a question for you ladies and men with girlfriends/wives:
Which is the best/sexiest-smelling bodywash? I've been using "Irish Spring" for the last year, but I want to try something new. So which bodywash smell do you or your girlfriend/wife find attractive?
It has to be available at most drugstores. Oh and I'm 20 so I don't want to smell like an old man(no old spice, that stuff's awful)! Any suggestions/recommendations?
2 AnswersOther - Skin & Body8 years agoGoing to Japan in June for the first time, need advice.?
I'm going to spend the month of June in Japan on a foreign exchange program. I know little about Japan, so answers to the following questions will be helpful.
1. What is the weather and average temperature (in Celsius) like in June? I hear it's the rainy season, but that'a about it
2. How are people dress, and how are foreigners supposed to dress? Please be specific
3. Do debit cards work in Japan, and how does the currency work there? How does the Yen translate to the American dollar?
4. Should I take my iPhone, or will at&t charge me an arm and a leg? Same goes for computing and internet.
5. Anyone know a good Japanese language survival guide?
6. Is there anything else I should take into account?

I decided to do a Bach cantata for an analysis paper. Unfortunately, I've never had any experience with them. Anyone know a good and complicated one I should take a look at? The more complex the better!
2 AnswersClassical8 years agoHow is it that I don't have a girlfriend yet?
I'm a college student entering my final year. I'm no model but not that bad looking. I have a lot of skills, I'm an engineer, good with my hands, really into politics, and I'm a classical musician to boot. So I have a wide skill set and am knowledgeable about a great many things. I see girls all the time saying that their boyfriends are useless and can't do anything except drink beer and watch sports. So why the hell am I still single? I don't understand, what an I doing wrong???
5 AnswersSingles & Dating8 years agoAnyone recommend an alternative to PSPICE?

4 AnswersEngineering8 years agoLaptop recommendations Please!?
I'm looking for a new laptop since my current one is ancient way past it's prime.
What I'm looking for in a new machine:
Fast Processor: i7, at least 2GHz, 3GHz and above is a plus
RAM: 12 to 16 GB preferred, but 8 is acceptable
Hard drive: 1TB or larger and decent read/write speed
Screen: Around 14-15 in.
Decent Battery life, at least 4-5 hours
Decent graphics, HD is preferred
At least 3 USB ports, preferably USB 3.0
Decent speakers is a plus
A back-lit keyboard is a big plus
Light weight, around 8-5 lbs
Price under $1500
Can anyone recommend a computer that fulfills most of these requirements?
Thanks!
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks8 years agoWhy do we use inverters?
If you can get the inverse of a signal just by cross-connecting the terminals, why design an entire circuit dedicated to that function?
3 AnswersEngineering8 years agoHow to calculate error percentage between two functions?
If there is a function f(x), and another function g(x), and g(x) is an approximation of f(x). I need to find the point (x) where the error between the two is, say, 2%. I'm totally clueless on how to do this, help!
1 AnswerMathematics8 years agoEating habits at home are different from those in college?
I've noticed that my appetite has increased significantly whenever I'm away at university in comparison with my appetite at home. When I'm home, I eat relatively little and eat an average of two square meals a day with very little snacking in between. Here in college, It's the opposite. I constantly have the munchies and am snacking way more.
I lost a fair amount of weight recently over winter break, and it's been great getting closer to my pre-freshman-15 weight. I'm afraid that I'll gain it all back now that I'm in college again.
Any suggestions on how I deal with this?
