  • How do I get over resenting my husband?

Last year, my husband was fired from his job. Four months later, I was laid off from my job. He found a new job after 7 months of unemployment and I found one after 2 months.

For the next 7 months, my husband complained daily about how much he hated his current job, but never once looked for a different job (he was waiting to hear from one gig that has a very long wait period, but did not apply for a single other job). Granted, his job was tough and didn't pay very well, but in this economy, that's how it is.

I then get laid off from my new job. I loved this job, but knew that the writing was on the wall budget-wise. It has only been a couple of weeks, but I'm experiencing grief over losing a job I enjoyed and fear that I'm not going to find another one soon.

During this period, my husband has been intimating that he needs to quit his job because it's "killing him" and he "can't take it emotionally". I understood his pain and worked with him to find other jobs.It was our only option. We cannot make it on just my unemployment.

Today, he quit his job. I am sick about this. We were just starting to recover from the hit we took last year when I lost my job and then he QUITS his?

I am at a complete loss.

  • Two companies trying to collect same debt?

My fiance used to have an account with AT&T wireless. After AT&T became Cingular, his experience with customer service went way downhill and he switched to a T-mobile family account with me. As he was angry with Cingular, he didn't make it a priority to pay off his balance with them (admittedly a stupid move). The debt went to collections.

Back in May, we paid off that debt IN FULL to a creditor collecting on behalf of AT&T Wireless. Just this weekend, however, we received a letter from a debt collector on behalf of Cingular Wireless - for the exact same amount that we paid off back in May!

I have proof of the debt settlement and the copy of the check we paid last May, which I plan on sending to this new creditor. Is there anything else we need to do to get this cleared up? We've been working really hard to become debt-free and improve our credit.

Are there any things I should be concerned with if I were to choose an unlocked phone that's not supported by my cellphone provider?

  • Lab-created stone for my engagement ring?

I have my heart set on an emerald cut Mt. St. Helen's Emerald (obsidianite created using Mt. St. Helen's ash) because it's the color green I prefer and it has local connections. If we buy an engagement ring setting, will any jeweler set the stone for us or are we going to get loads of pressue to buy a diamond?

Also, since the stone is on the 5.5-6 MOHS rating, would it be better to get a platinum setting or is white gold ok?

  • Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party Stress?

I was asked to be a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. Her sister is the maid of honor and there are two more bridesmaids. Everyone keeps referring to me as the unofficial maid of honor since they expect me to organize both the shower and the bachelorette party. I know the bride wants there to be a stripper involved, but I'm uncomfortable hiring one. Also, it's not like I have unlimited funds to be spending on this - but I don't want to let the bride down. It's getting to be crunch time and I'm panicking. Anyone have ideas for coping and/or affordable, fun showers or bachelorette parties?

    Thank you...

  • Abbreviations?

Okay, I've been on the internet for many years. I'm not a novice. All of these abbreviations drive me crazy! I get all the old chat ones, but what are the 'DH', 'SD' etc. relationship abbreviations?

    God, I'm old.

  • Help with taking richer looking photos?

I have a Canon Powershot S5 IS. I purchased this camera because I wanted something that we'd be able to grow with and start taking better pictures of the bands we go to see.

I see photos that have a really warm, rich feel to them. How is that color/feel acheived with a DSLR?

  • How do you feel about the Blackberry Curve?

I'm a T-Mobile customer (have been for years). We recently moved into a townhouse that really deadens the local signal, so we pretty much had to get the T-Mobile HotSpot@Home (now known as the Talk Forever Mobile or something like that).

I'm disappointed that there is only one data phone offered with the plan. My contract is up so I will be eligible for my re-up rebate.

Is it worth spending my rebate $$$ on this phone, or should I hold out for a different data phone?

  • Do you find 'personas' on Yahoo! Answers?

I know there are trolls, but there seem to be some really 'involved' trolls out there. People who are creating virtual life stories just trying to evoke a response from others.

    A. Do you feel this devalues the Yahoo! Answers experience?

    B. Do you find them entertaining?

    C. Don't you think they should just go on Dr. Phil and get their 15 minutes so I don't have to weed through their questions for real ones?

  • Using 'of' instead of 'have'?

I understand where some people might get confused, but 'should've' is a contraction of 'should have' not 'should of'.

This drives me insane. Give me your grammatical pet peeves. The one that makes me spit my coffee out will get the best answer.

  • Why do parents insist on bringing small children to inappropriate events?

I know it's difficult to find a trustworthy sitter these days, but I worry about what kids are being exposed to these days. Not just sexual situations, but here's an example:

I went to a rock concert the other night. A woman was yelling at the ticket takers that she didn't think she needed to have a ticket for her 8 day old baby. Why would you take an 8 day old to a really loud rock concert? I bring ear plugs so I don't damage my own hearing. What possible good could 110 decibels do to a child that age?

  • Do ticket brokers sell you tickets to the wrong venue?

I was trying to get tickets to a show and was excited to see that it was supposedly coming to my town. I called the theater in town and they said that show is not going to be there. I went back to the website where I saw it listed, clicked on the event like I was going to buy the tickets and it said the WHOLE time that these tickets were for an event at the theater in my town.

What is one's recourse if you actually went through with the sale? I know tickets are usually non-refundable, but if the information is wildly inaccurate, what does one do?
