  • He's 24 and I'm 18. Is it inappropriate for us to date?

    I've known this man for about a year and a half, and we're both very much into each other. I've very strong feelings for him (I think I'm in love with him) and he has admitted strong feelings for me. We've gone out on a date and it went really really well, both of us were reluctant to let it end.

    The only problem is that he's 24 and I'm 18. I think I'm legal and it is therefore okay for me to date him. He thinks he's a total creeper for hitting on and wanting to be with an 18 year old girl. My parents are okay with me dating him, as are my friends. No one has spoken against our relationship from my side of the ring. He hasn't told anyone on his side about me.

    Here's where it gets a little bewildering. At the end of our date he asked (kind of begged) me to go home with him and stay the night with him at his home around where I live. He has a second house that he shares with his roomates about a three hour drive from my home. When I asked if I could come visit him in the second house, he said no, that he didn't want me to meet his friends because "they'll think he's a creeper".

    So here are my questions:

    1) Is it inappropriate for us to be together?

    2) Does this sound like an excuse to just not commit? That he's just not that into me?

    3) Should I confront him on this and demand an ultimatum?

    Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it.

  • Can I wear leopard print shoes on Easter Sunday?

    The shoes have a moderate heel (two-three inches) and are fairly understated. They're only two tones, not three like the picture I posted. They'd be paired long black pants and a plain scoop neck short sleeved purple/pink shirt.

    Same general shape as these shoes: http://img.shopping.com/jfe/popular/leopard-print-...

    They would be the only "attention grabbing" part of the outfit, which makes me think they might be okay? What are your opinions?

  • Hooke's Law physics question?

    http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b183/iouaname673...

    The drawing shows three identical springs hanging from the ceiling. Nothing is attached to the first spring, while a 4.52 N block hangs from the second spring. A block of unknown weight hangs from the third spring. From the drawing, determine the

    a) spring constant in N/m

    k = N/m

    b) weight of the unknown block

    I know Hooke's Law is F=-kx, so k = -F/x, but when I put the numbers in I get -12.91 which is incorrect. Can anyone offer any advice?

  • Very basic physics question...?

    A block of mass m1 = 2 kg and a block of mass m2 = 3 kg are tied together and are pulled from rest across the floor by a force of Fp = 30 N. The coefficient of friction of the blocks with the floor is µ = 0.15.

    a) What is the acceleration of the two blocks?

    I have solved part a and have gotten a value of 4.53 m/s2

    b) What is the tension in the string between the blocks?

    I cannot figure out part b to save my life. I have drawn a free body diagram of block m1 and tried to find the answer using Fp + Ftension = Fnet, where Fp = 30N

    Any help would be appreciated! Please...

  • How do I find the percentage of an element in a compound?

    I am having so much with this one homework problem. Could someone please walk me through it?

    Upon strong heating, Cu2(CO3)(OH)2 or Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2 decomposes to leave CuO(s) in the heating crucible. Upon heating of 1.102 g of sample, 0.791 g remains. Calculate the %Cu in the sample.

    I have one more opportunity to answer on my online homework thing. Could someone please show me how they figure it out?

    So my question is if you could pick from any of these computers, what would you pick? Also, are any of my requirements not sufficent enough?

    I just need to keep the price under $1,600. Thank you for your help

  • Two highly esteemed schools, which do I pick?

    I've been accepted into both the University of Washington (UW) and New York University (NYU). I plan to enter the school of my choice as a pre-med major, and then from there move onto a medical school. Out of these two options, which university should I go to? I am having trouble finding reliable statistics on either school concerning their pre-med programs.

    Thank you for your advice.

  • How do I find the equilibrium concentrations when I don't have a value for Kc?

    The question reads:

    A mixture of .10 mol of NO, 0.050 mol of H2, and .10 mol of water is placed in a 1.0-L vessel at 300K. The following equilibrium is established:

    2NO(g) + 2H2(g) <======> N2(g) + 2H2O(g)

    At equilibrium [NO] = .062 M. (a) Calculate the equilibrium concentrations of H2, N2, and H2O. (b) Calculate Kc.

    I have an ICE box set up, with all values filled in with X as a variable. I also have the Kc law set up. How do I calculate the equlibrium concentrations when I do not have a value for Kc?

  • My best friend's brother tells his family he's gay...?

    but the other night when I was over at his house he kinda put the moves on me (I'm a girl). And when I say "put the moves on me" I don't mean like he was friendly and gave me a hug. I mean he tried to slip a hand up my shirt and get on top of me.

    Should I just pretend that never happened or what? Tell his sister?

    I mean, its not like his family is against him being out, so I don't know why he'd have any insecurities with his homosexuality.

    Any advice?

  • AP Chemistry homework question?

    I usually hate kids that post their homework questions on yahoo answers, but I am truly stumped.

    a) The gas-phase decomposition of SO2CL2,

    SO2CL2 ---------> S02 + Cl2 is first order in SO2CL2. At 600K the half life for this process is 2.3 x 10^5 seconds. What is the rate constant at this temperature?

    b) At 320 C the rate constant is 2.2 x 10^ -5 seconds^ -1. What is the half life at this temperature?

    If you are truly opposed to helping me, just give me the equation I should use. I THINK that i'm supposed to use:

    ln[A]t = -kt + ln[A]0

    but its not working out for me. Help please?

  • Is there ever a moment when...?

    You know how when you're sitting in a room full of people talking, and all of a sudden the chatting just dies out and theres absolute scilence for about a second before conversation starts up again? Do you think this is possible on a grander scale? Like, say, the world? Is it possible for everyone and everything in the world to be absolutely silent, even if its just for one billionth of a second?
