How do scientists explain this.?
The geologic column is said to tell how old an object is by how low on the geologic column the object is. Each layer is said to represent several million years. But some petrified trees have been found going through many, many of these layers.
The problem this poses is that for a tree to be petrified while standing upright, it would have to have stood upright for several million years. (Can trees do that?) This possibly jeopardizes the geologic column and most of the evidence of evolution. How has this specific topic been explained away?
I believe this topic, like most others, has received attention from the scientific community and has been explained. I ask this question because I wish to know that explanation. Thank you. Please cite sources.

15 AnswersBiology1 decade agoIf scientists found undeniable proof against evolution, would they tell us?
I'm looking for serious thoughts about this. If scientists found extremely solid proof against evolution, would they be likely to attempt to tell everybody? Would their proof be accepted?
It's a rhetorical question. It may never happen, but I would like thoughts on if it did.

17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow can space have expanded?
To my understanding, it is believed by many scientists that time and space were originally compressed very tightly and eventually expanded exponentially.
So I'm wandering how space expanded. If there was no space outside of the compressed space, what did space expand into?
Please help me understand this concept better.

4 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoHow did primative life evolve two sexes?
Division is more convenient than sexual reproduction. It doesn't call for two seperate entities being together. So at first glance, it seems that natural selection would favor division. I would like to know how the scientific community thinks the modern reproductive system evolved.
Detailed answers and explanations please.

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI lost a password. What do I do?
On my computer, I have a regular account and an admin account. I had a complex password for the admin account and then changed it a few weeks later.
My computer had a problem, so I used system restore. I did not know it would restore the old password... which I no longer have. I can only remember a few letters of the password. Without it, I can't do much anything.
What are my options?
