  • Why don't christians seem to realize that "christian/christianity" is a blanket term for many religions, not a singular religion?

That's like if somebody asks for a date, and all you tell them is the month... If you break it down into the actual religions instead of the big group, your actual religion is not the majority. As in, naming the actual religions, such as Catholicism, Protestantism, Baptist, etc.

Also, I don't want to hear it, Catholicism is a Christian religion. If you say it isn't, you don't know the definition of Christianity.

  • Christians: Why do you make the excuse "_____ law was made for a different time, you're taking it out of context"?

or "That was for just the Jews, not everyone" etc.

    That's moral relativism.

If you believe morals are absolute/objective, then someone is always wrong or never wrong. You can't say "Murder is wrong" but then say "Putting homosexuals to death was for a different time/other people" because that doesn't change anything if your god is "perfect".

  • Theists: Let's try this hypothetical question again.?

Now this time I decided to put this part first, because some peoples' brains got tired after reading the first line.

BEFORE YOU ANSWER: This is a HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION, i.e. "That wouldn't happen" "he didn't do that" etc DOES NOT MATTER. Just answer the question like an adult.

Also this is assuming that you don't know that you are going to be stopped, because abraham didn't know at the time. This is also assuming you're talking to your true god, not hallucinating, not hearing things, you're not going crazy. Hopefully you guys can just give some answers this time:

If god told you to sacrifice your child, as he did with abraham and isaac, would you?

  • Theist: If god told you to would you?

If god told you to sacrifice your child, as he did with abraham and isaac, would you?

Assuming you didn't know he was going to tell you to stop, seeing as abraham wouldn't have known. So hypothetically, you are all-in, no turning back.

  • Morality question?

My wife did some things behind my back that I asked her not to. Is it okay for me to ground my son for that?

  • Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is true?

Or something like "This book is non-fiction".

  • Christians: If god doesn't like evil, why did he create it?

"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."

    - Isaiah 45:7 (King James Version)

  • Theists: How do you know that your god's morality is "correct"?

If your source for absolute morality is your god, and god is a sentient being, how can you say that morality is absolute? Seems to me that your "objective" morality, is just the subjective morality of your god. Therefore, not objective.

  • Why do so many (not all) christians think they're better than their god?

You always talk about how god gave us free will to let us live as we wish, yet for some reason you seem to think that you know better than he does by trying to tell people what they can't do and pass laws/legislation based on your religion.

If your "perfect god" thinks we should have free will, why do you think you're better than him and should restrict it?

  • What is the difference between levels 4-7?

They all seem exactly the same on the chart other than the required points.

  • Marriage question to Christians.?

If marriage existed at least 3000 years before (possibly more) your religion was created, why is it that you seem to think that you own it and decide the rules? On top of that, marriage isn't even a "christian-only" thing. So why should there be laws banning things that are against your religion when there are thousands of other religions, and non religious people, out there that don't follow your book.

That's like if I joined an old band and started telling them how their songs should be written. Then also telling every other band how THEIR songs should be written.

  • Is there a phone-specific data usage widget?

I'm on a family plan, and we share data. So are there any widgets like the data usage meters, but that specifically just show my phone's usage? Even better would be if I could specify my own cap. for obvious reasons it doesn't really help me much to see the usage meter for our shared data and usage. Our shared usage is 7GB, so having the meter visually show my usage on a meter where the cap is 7 doesn't help me much if my personal cap is 1.5.

Just to be clear, I basically want one that I can say "My personal cap is 1.5GB" then the meter would show only my phone's usage relative to the 1.5GB cap.

I hope I made enough sense for you guys, and thanks in advance!

  • Can it be "Fair Use" to post full, uncut copyrighted material to YouTube?

Would someone mind settling this for me? My brother and I were arguing about fair use, and he claims that you can post full, uncut, unedited copyrighted material to youtube under "fair use", if it has "important information". For example, he says you could post a full documentary if it is about something "important", because that would be considered "for the public good". I say he's completely wrong, but I can't seem to find any answers to this question.
