HELP! Out of Network Surgery?
In 2014 my wife got approval for a surgery from the insurance company, the surgeon, hospital, etc were all IN-NETWORK, all the appointments leading up to the surgery were IN-NETWORK. The Surgery was scheduled MONTHS in advance, and was performed in the beginning of January.
Recently the surgeon's office called and wanted to discuss our out of network payments, obviously we were shocked. She said they they recently decided to become out of network, and never informed us of any changes.
Now we have a bill for $33,000+ and we feel we shouldn't have to pay anything, because the surgery was approved by our insurance for $0 when we were in network- and the surgeon just decided to become out of network after we'd done all the paperwork.
Do I have a leg to stand on legally here? I'm also in NY.

My supervisor always wants everyone to do good even when they bring the whole team down. In the 3 years I've been employed no one has ever been written up for everything and we have people who are chronically late, sleep during their shift, make a mess, etc, etc. I have the pleasure of working the day shift with said supervisor and since April his performance has been really slacking due to him buying a house and issues at home. He sits all day at his desk looking this up for his new house or on the phone with this person or that person and I feel like I'm running the entire show while he collects his near 6 figures to play around all day while I bust my ***. I don't mind the extra workload sometimes if it's not a regular occurrence but I'm becoming increasingly burnt out from the double or even triple workloads for what is now months on end. Is there any way to talk to my supervisor and tell him to step up his game or should I just go right to our Manager and express my concerns there?

What to say when your passed over for a promotion?
I'm totally lost here. I got passed up for a promotion today and while the details aren't important just know the person is an idiot and not even close to my skill level.
My dilemma is this. I was "leaked" this information today and the manager of that dept hasn't had a chance to tell me I didn't get the job yet, he tried to call me about 5 min before my shift ended but I wasn't ready to face him in fear I may lash out with how I really feel about the situation so I left.
I need to know how to handle this. I'm not sure what I can say to this guy without getting defensive and making a fool out of myself. Any suggestions on how to handle this would be appreciated.

5 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment10 years agoBecoming a landlord for a couple months (NY)?
Hello,
I have someone who is going to be staying with me and they were receiving DSS rent for the place they were previously staying, however they had a falling out and they are now staying with me on a short term basis. The renter went to DSS and told them they don't live there any more and they live with me so the other landlord wouldn't receive rent while she did not stay there. SO now I am slated to receive the rent for a few months until she is relocated. How is this going to affect my income taxes? Do I have to pay tax on the rent? Even though it will only be for a month or two what deductions will I have? Is it even worth it getting into this? Any advice is appreciated.

Specifically these shows... Supporting documentation would be preferred. (IE disclaimer on their site saying real/fake etc.) I know some of the shows are based on "real events" but I am looking to know if the actual show we are watching on TV is real.

I am seriously debating getting Lasik surgery within the next month or two. I have read many reviews online about how 20% of patients have complications and that after 5 years they are back to having poor vision. All of these articles are old and I am really wondering how much things have improved now that we are in 2010. Anyone know the complications percentage? What the safest procedure is to correct eyesight AND astigmatism? Anyone have any recommendations? I've heard TLC was good, but the reviews online from 5+ years ago are not too comforting, also I saw LasikPlus less reviews, but some people have the same horror stories... Advice please :D
3 AnswersOptical1 decade agoHow to get rid of Giardia in a dog?
My dog has had Giardia since birth... He is currently 8 months old.
We have tried Flagyl several times including the last time which was 2x 250MG tablets twice daily for one week on and then a week off then another week on.
A couple months ago we also tried Pancur with no effect.
Does anyone have a suggestion? He is a Shetland Sheep Dog, 8mos old 28lbs
