The new law takes effect on January 1, 2011 for tax rates, gifts taxes and some other items. A lot of the provisions makes changes to go back to provisions in the law before 2010 that the Dem's. took out so that taxes would increase for a lot of people in 2010. You would have to read the law to see which will effect you. All of these provisions will be effective for 2010.

if it is passed it means that it will be effective for 2011 and two years
there is no change to current
