  • How do I get my 3 yo to use the toilet to poop?

    Suggestions anyone?

We have been going to the toilet with him to show him. We have taken him to the toilet with us when we are pooping. We have tried to encourage and bribe him... but to no avail. He simply refuses. He will keep it in until he gets constipated... or wait til I put on the diaper for him to go to sleep at night and then do it.

Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, he has no problem urinating in the toilet.

  • What is the next number in the series and why?

    Fill in the missing number: 2, 4, 6, 8, 16, 32, __

Apparently the answer is 48 according to what my son's teacher wrote on the paper, but I cannot figure out why to be able to help him.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

  • How do I tell whether I am producing enough milk for my baby?

My son is 8 weeks old and I am exclusively breast feeding. At first he was eating every 2 hours, night and day. Last week he slowed to every 3 hours. Yesterday and last night it was about every 4 hours. Today he started feeding more frequently. I have not been pumping much... just about once per week when I feel like I am becoming engorged. But today, I have been really soft, no leaks at all (which is just not like me) and the baby seems to want to eat more often... so I am wondering if my milk production is slowing. I never had this concern with my first two sons (now 10.5 and 9 yrs) but it has been a while and of course this experience has been different from the other 2. Anyway, I realise that lots of you on this site talk about your milk production being decreased and I was wondering how you can tell for sure?

  • How do I help my baby pass stool/gas more easily?

My 6 week old baby bay appears to be in pain when he wants to pass stool/gas. Not only is he grunting, but he becomes extremely fussy and constantly has a frown on his face. This lasts for up to half hour until he is able to pass the gas (which is very loud and can be heard in the next room) and/or stool (which is of normal consistency). It is not just a little grunt. He really does appear to be in pain. He also had a 4 inch muconian plug at birth that luckily he was able to pass after about 15 hours and so did not have to go into surgery. I already do the belly rubs and try to watch what I eat (he is breastfeeding). Any further advice on how to make it easier for him would be appreciated.
