  • Bad breath problem with a woman at work?

I work with a female who has the most appalling dental hygiene. Her teeth are missing, rotten and decayed. Her gums are severely red and inflamed. The trouble is her breath smells really bad. We were in a small room sorting out some things for work and the smell was over powering. I had to prop the door open. I am not the first person to comment on her hygiene but do I broach the subject with her or not ? I don't want to get disciplined for commenting and I don't really want to upset the woman I work with. I try to avoid being near her but as times I am left retching from the smell.

Do I say some thing or not ?

  • legal aid agency problems?

What is your experience with this agency ? I have had many difficulties with them over my legal aid. My solicitor told me I was entitled to legal aid as my income was low but now the legal aid agency say that I have too much disposable income ????? After many phone calls I found that they hadn't taken my mortgage payments in to account so I have had to produce my bank statements again ! They say I didn't send them enough information which I did via my solicitor. Why would my solicitor tell me I could claim legal aid if I wasn't entitled to it ? I can't understand why. I know through the online legal aid calculator that I am entitled to claim it. How do they work out their calculations ? I have no savings or investments. In fact when I have spoken to various people at this agency they have been rude and offensive. I am at my wits end with these people they want to know every single last detail of my spending habits and I beginning to feel as though my privacy has been violated. I could understand their questioning if I had savings but I am living on the bones of my ar.e trying to work and raise two children on my own. Is this the normal procedure for them to assess legal aid or am I getting shoddy treatment by them? The divorce is stressful enough without all this hassle.

  • Anti depressants and work?

Has anyone ever been turned down for a job because for taking anti depressants ? I need to visit my doctor who may recommend that I try them for a while. I am very worried that if I agree I may be open to discrimination if I decide to change my job in the future.

  • Why do people self destruct ?

My soon to be ex husband used to be a really nice person. We had two beautiful children together, a business, a house in a good area and banks throwing money at us. Ten years later the man I married has gone ! He lost 90 thousand pounds, the business is gone, He is living on his own and the divorce will soon be finalised.

He had a job but has lost it, has unpaid debts and no life. Through out my marriage to him he became alcoholic and abusive. He was a compulsive liar and a thief. He has walked away from his children in fact he has not seen them for eight months. Apparently he is sober now.

What the hell happened to him ? Mentally he believes he is of sound mind. He has lost everything that was good in his life. Why do some people choose this way of life ? He really can not see the damage he is doing to his own children. He pushed the self destruction button and has kept his finger firmly on it. I am at a loss as to why people get to this point of no return. I do believe that he will eventually try to take his own life. Is it possible that some people enjoy living in a horrible existence or does he have an under lying mental condition ?

  • chilblains ! How do I get rid of them?

Anyone suffer from chilblains ? Are there any remedies that actually work?. My toes are now swollen and distorted. The swellings actually form bruising under the skin and then break through the outer skin. They are so painful but so itchy. Besides cutting off my toes what the hell can I do to get rid of the nasty chilblains ?

  • So confused about everything?

I had been with my husband for 14yrs during which time he subjected me to mental, financial and physical abuse. Needless to say I am in the process of divorcing him. He moved out six months ago. He has never arranged to see our children in fact he couldn't even be bothered sending them a christmas card. I instigated the divorce as my children were living in hell with his behaviour.

Why do I still have deep regrets and guilt about the divorce. I feel like I have been hit by an express train. My emotions are all over the place. Some days I am struggling to get out of bed. When will I eventually turn the corner and start to feel normal again ? I can quite honestly say this is one of the most stressful things I have ever been through.

On top of this I am also trying to keep the children's spirits up. I can't imagine what it feels like for them to be abandoned by their father. How cruel can one man be ?

I am going though a very horrible divorce. The soon to be x is avoiding all legal letters and won't reply to the court. He has debts and I am sick to death of dealing with all of his creditors. He is obviously giving them the run around and giving me stress. He moved out over two months ago. He has also said he never wants to see his children again and on top of all this stress I don't know if his creditors will try and force sale of the home to pay his debts.

To all you people out there who have been through a messy divorce do you have any advice to give me. How did you cope with all of the stress caused by divorce?

  • learning to accept moving on?

Throughout my thirteen years of marriage my life has been hell. I have been financially, emotionally and physically abused. The lies and deceit are still going on today. I know I need to get divorced but in the process I have to loose my childhood home and my horse as i cant afford to keep them. I am finding it difficult to accept that I have to loose these things even though I will leave debt free and will have to go in to social housing. How do I make it easier for myself and the children to accept that this lifestyle is coming to an end. Advice welcome from anyone who has been there

  • Sticky tax credit situation?

I am still married and living under the same roof as the separated husband. We have separate lives and finances etc. I was advised by a solicitor to claim tax credits as a single person with two children. I also rang the tax credits to ask them for advice ( twice). The tax credits honoured my claim. I now have a letter from them saying that because the Separated husband lives under the same roof I should have made a joint claim. I have no knowledge of what he earns and we are not together. He refuses to move out and I cant afford to. I now have to ring them monday regarding my claim as they think its not correct. Its their mistake if any I acted on their advice. If they decide that the claim is wrong will I be prosecuted ?

  • Confusion over tax credits advice?

About three weeks ago I sought legal advice from a solicitor regarding divorce and separation. I was told that even though myself and my husband are not together anymore I should be claiming tax credits. I said to the solicitor that I thought I could not claim because we are still living under the same roof.

Any how I did ring the tax credits and I was told that I could claim tax credits as a single person with two children.I explained the situation to him and he said it was ok to make the claim. I have just read the claim form and it says that because I am still married to my husband I have to make a joint claim.Did the man in the tax credits office give me the wrong advice?

  • Why would someone choose to behave in such a bizzare manner?

I have finally decided that after years of lies and abuse to divorce my husband. I have asked him to leave and I am currently seeking legal advice.

What I don't understand is why he behaves in such a despicable manner. My son had a prize giving evening on the 14th of september and my husband told my son he was going to attend. When my husband came in from work he said he was on call and had to go back to work. He was acting in a flustered manner and trying to cause an argument with me. I said to him that I do not care if you come or not but I will be attending to see what our child has achieved in the school year.I also said you told our son that you would be there and he is bound to feel disappointed. He said that I was f.....ing nasty and I think I am some kind of school Professional.

Anyhow he did go, but in his own car and then went to the shop to but alcohol. He told me he was on call. More lies because he did not want to go.

To cut a long story short he has not spoken to myself or the children since the 14th of september and is playing silly mind games ie he walks out of a room if I go in,slamming doors, turning the tv loud etc . Why on earth would someone behave like this ? I

  • Separation and debt advice from someone who's been there?

I have asked my husband for a legal separation. If we are separated will I be liable for his debts if he decides not to pay them. The house is still in our joint names. If he died and still had debt would I also end up with his debts unless we get divorced?

  • Some advice needed on raising my 12yr old?

Since my son started secondary school last year he has become a different person. The happy smiling care free child has gone. Now I have a child that is always grumpy,he constantly mumbles under his breath and is generally short tempered. He does not have any issues at home or school. His school friends are his no 1 priority and he spends a lot of time socialising. Is this the start of dreaded puberty? Any advice from other parents whose children are a similar age would be most welcomed.
