    Water cooling block cracked?

I just got a Deepcool Gamerstorm Maelstrom closed loop water cooling unit. I opened it to inspect it and saw what appears to be a small crack on the water block. I don't want to take chances. Is this something I shouldn't use? Should I take some super glue to it and let it do it's thing?

Picture included, crack is just above my thumb.

  • Should I use my chipset for a RAID 1 array or Windows?

I am building a system with 4 mechanical HDDs and 1 SSD. The SSD is strictly for OS, I have a 3TB drive for games, movies, and other data, two 1TB drives in a RAID 1 array for documents and photos, and a 80GB drive for program files.

First, I haven't setup my computer yet. It is unfinished, so I have some luxuries of not worrying about documents and trying to work with a current machine.

That being said, how should I do this? Should I setup my RAID array in the BIOS, or should I use Windows? If i setup the array in my BIOS, will Windows recognize it as the same drive if i were to say unplug drive A and use drive B instead?

If i used Windows to setup the array, would it recognize the other drive and read its data the same if I were to unplug drive A and use drive B?

If i use the BIOS, how do I set it up? I've read on a couple forums to install the OS first on the SSD, set boot priority, and then unplug the OS drive and setup the array that way. Others tell me to setup everything in ASCI mode, then unplug the SSD, and then setup the array. After which it tell me to plug in the SSD, unplug the RAID drives, and then install the OS. I am unsure the proper method to do this, because it is telling me to use ASCI when RAID is a seperate option on the BIOS, so I need clarification.

  • Dual boot Mac and Windows on seperate drives?

I'm building a new rig, and i want to have Windows and Mac boot on seperate drives, how would i go about doing this? I have the luxury of not worrying about data eradication, so which OS should i start with? I know you have to change your hard drive settings to AHCI, would it affect all drives? If it does, can i still put Windows on an AHCI set system? If i can, could i possibly use the BIOS boot settings to determine which HDD to boot from, and subsequently which OS to boot? This would remove the issue of third party boot options, which would be nice.

  • Should i get this replaced?

Myself and a friend are moving, and i took my truck to get it checked to see if it could pull a uhaul trailer (not a large one, it's 4'x8'). The mechanic said the ball joints and sway arms need to be replaced because it squeaks when i turn, and it would cost $1,000+. Do i absolutely need this to go to Maine?

  • How are DVD's able to fit on a disc?

I make regular backups of my anime and movie collection. When I do the backup, the ISO files (which are mirror files of the disc, from what I understand) are ALWAYS larger than 4.7GB. They usually range in the 5.5-6.5 range. How are these able to fit on a disc? I know they aren't DL, I can look at the disc and see its not layered. Is there another way it fits on the disc?

  • Lifeproof case headphone jack arm?

My friend and I both have lifeproof cases. He got his from a different place than me, and apparently they gave him this "arm" thing for his headphone jack screw. It attaches to the charm keeper and goes on the jack cover, so when it's unscrewed it stays on the phone with the arm keeping it there. Which is great, I lost mine before. When I went to the phone place they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. I searched on eBay and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know what this is called, or where I could find it?

  • Computer Partition Obliterated?

I downloaded Partition Table Doctor 3.5 to repair a partition I had on a secondary hard drive (Seagate USB 1TB portable hard drive). Once I repaired the partition, the program told me to restart. I did. When I got stuck on the restart screen for 20 mins, I flipped the switch. When I rebooted, I got both a "NTLDR is missing" as well as a "BOOTMGR is missing" and wouldn't boot into windows. After starting a recovery disk, it said that there were no partitions on the primary drive. Did Partition Doctor decimate my primary drive? Or am I overlooking something? What do I do? Did I just FUBAR my computer?

  • Processor not showing up in system properties?

I just upgraded my HP Pavilion a1132n from an AMD Athalon 3500+ 2.2 Ghz single core to a AMD Opteron 2.6 Ghz dual core CPU. The BIOS displayed the correct processor type, but when I clicked on the system properties (with the Windows Experience Index, RAM, and CPU), it still showed the Athalon processor as what was being used. Obviously, since the computer is running, the processor is working, but is there something wrong that I should fix?

  • Yu Gi Oh Life Point Depletion Sound?

Does anyone know where I can get the sounds of your life points depleting, like from the first season of the show? I'm trying to write a life point counter program, and my friend suggested it would be cool if when you lost life points the sound played as if from the show. I thought that'd actually be kinda cool, but after searching around on the internet for a while I can't seem to find the file, let alone in the format I need. I'll worry about the conversion later, for now I just need the sound. Anyone know where I might be able to find that?

  • Whats wrong with my eyes?

So for a long time, maybe since I was like 13 or so (now 17), I've often had weird spells with my eyes, where my eyes would get this weird tunnel vision and I would get fixated on a certain object. I would only have to stare at the object for no more than a couple seconds before the tunnel vision went away. Well one day, it didn't go away. About January or so, maybe even sooner than that (I recall having the same feeling while driving with my dad for the first time and I was really nervous), my eyes got the tunnel vision feeling, and it didn't go away since. I've been straining to keep myself focused in school or anytime for that matter. It's really hard to notice things around me because while I do have peripheral vision, my eyes don't seem to process what is there and I lose a lot of my surroundings, this makes it very hard to look for things. I have visited an eye doctor, and after an exam he said that nothing seemed wrong with my eyes, and my problem sounded neurological. After my mom consulted with a neurologist, he said it did not sound neurological. Something is wrong and I want it fixed.... Now. Can anyone give me some idea of what I might have or relay any of their stories of something like this happening to them?

Also, may or may not be related, recently the back of my neck has been hurting a lot, more closer to the top of the neck, at the base of the skull. I have also been very dizzy lately and a lot more tired even when I get an appropriate amount of sleep. I doubt it's related, but if it is I figured I mineaswell state it. The dizziness and neck pain started after I got sick for about 3 days last week.

  • Why wont I level up in Fallout 3?

  • Can anyone give me information on the U.S. Army Platoons of the Vietnam war?

I am doing a research paper on the Vietnam war, my question is "How was the roles of the U.S. Military platoon members different or similar to the operating systems of the Vietnamese army." I need information on the platoons of the army at that time. How many people were in each platoon? How many of them had specialties (medic, sniper, machine gunner, etc.)? And how did they operate? If you can give me any LEGIT sites that have accurate and trusted information would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what to search for and I need help.

  • Xbox 360 Wireless adapter help?

I need help. My wireless network adapter was working for almost a month, it had connection, connected to Live, played some pretty good lag free games. OK, so, a couple days ago, it was REALLY lagging. So, I turned off the Xbox, unplugged the adapter, and plugged it back in. Then i turned it on, and it didn't connect to a network. It just signed me in and kept me offline. I checked the network settings (using the NXE, btw) and when I looked at test connection, it said "Xbox 360 oOo Network oOo Internet oOo Xbox LIVE" (the oOo is supposed to represent those little circle thingies) instead of "Xbox 360 oOo linksys (Wireless Connection) oOo Internet oOo Xbox LIVE", meaning the Xbox doesn't know the adapter is even there. Then, after unplugging and plugging the adapter in, the thing wouldnt turn on at all. Well, tonight (2/26/10) I opened up the adapter and found out why it wasn't turning on, the USB power wasn't connected to the adapter card. So, solved that problem, now the other problem remains that the 360 isn't detecting the adapter. It has a red light, signifying its ready to connect to a network, but the Xbox won't do anything.... anyone know why?

  • What's wrong with my 360 controller?

My 360 controller isn't working right for some reason. When I press the center button, it can take up to a minute to tun on the Xbox. When it shuts off accidentally, it will take that amount of time to connect too. The controller is like 2 feet away from the system too. Why is it doing this? I re-synced the controller, and that took like a minute to do too.

  • Name of an Xbox 360 game?

OK, I saw this commercial back in probably September. It was of like 50 guys dropping from the sky like ODST, but they weren't in drop pods, but like extremely cool black battle suits with blue visors. They all landed in the desert with other guys that had the same suits on and started fighting things (I didn't see what they were fighting). I can't remember the name of the game for the life of me.

  • Trying to connect to Xbox Live through my computer with wireless connectivity?

I just got a new Xbox and I'm trying to connect to Xbox Live through my computer, which has wireless connection instead of a modem. I cannot connect to a modem because the modem is on the bottom floor of the opposite side of my house, and I can't just go drilling through the floor and run it through 5 rooms to get to it, so I am trying to connect my Xbox to my computer, which is connected to the internet.

I called Xbox and they started to help me. They said to right click on Wireless Connection 7> Settings (tab)> (check) Share this connection with other connections (ICS). When I clicked on the setting tab, the ICS option did NOT show up, only the settings for windows firewall. I did all this while still talking to Microsoft, and they redirected me to another line. I called them, and they were trying to charge $60 for me to enable the ICS just because my computer is out of warranty. Can someone please tell me what I have to do to enable the ICS?
