❦ Renaming Characters From Fairy Tales ❦ ?
Hi,
I'm in the process of formulating a story, and I would appreciate some help naming the characters. Basically, I was inspired by the TV series Once Upon A Time. It's about this queen that banishes all of the characters from fairy tales into a modern day, idyll town. I was wondering if you could help me find some names that are significant to the character's fairy tale in one way or another. For example, Snow White's modern-day name could be Bianca because it means "white". Or Red Riding Hood's modern-day name could be "Scarlet", you know? It doesn't have to be that obvious, but I would like it to relate to their fairy tale in one way or another.
You don't have to find modern-day names for all of them, but here's a list of characters;
~ Rumpelstiltskin
~ Snow White
~ Prince Charming
~ Seven Dwarves
~ The Evil Queen
~ Red Riding Hood
~ Granny (Red Riding Hood's grandmother)
~ Mad Hatter
~ Alice (from Alice in Wonderland)
~ The Red Queen
~ The White Queen
~ Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum
~ Hansel & Gretel
~ Rapunzel
~ Jack (from Jack and the Bean Stalk)
~ Goldilocks
~ Ariel (the Little Mermaid)
~ Sleeping Beauty
~ Pinnochio
~ Tinkerbell
~ Peter Pan
~ Captain Hook
~ Robin Hood
~ Belle (from Beauty and the Beast)
~ Beast
~ Cinderella
~ Three Blind Mice
I know this is my story, but I'd appreciate your sincere help! :)

3 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoWhich Surname Goes Best With This First Name?
Hey there,
I've been developing a story for a couple months now and I was just wondering if I could get some opinions on which surname to use for my protagonist. I'm not going to explain the character too much, but, basically, she's a fourteen-year old girl with curly blonde hair, grey-blue eyes and a spunky personality. She's independent, witty, friendly, and creative (she hates math and science). Her greatest fear is to lose those whom she loves. She's also afraid of failure. The choices are;
Cambria Lotus
Cambria Devonite
Which one sounds better? I appreciate positive input! Thank you!
3 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoWhich Names Suits This Character Best?
I'm currently in the process of formulating a YA fantasy, and I would appreciate your help answering this question. Here is a short description of the character;
She's a fourteen year-old girl with wild, curly blonde hair, grey-blue eyes, a very light sprinkle of freckles, and a spunky personality. She's independent, witty, friendly, creative, intelligent (even though she hates math and science and would rather paint the day away). She tries to be strong, but she secretly knows that without the support of her parents, she would crumble. She fears loosing those whom she loves.
Your decisions are;
Cambria (nickname Bri)
Gwendolyn (nickname Gwen)
Renessa (nickname Ness/a)
Lotus (her full name would be Lotus Blayde)
Out of the names listed above, which one do you think fits the character best? If you have any creative girl name suggestions, go ahead and list them as well, but be sure to answer the question. I appreciate your help. Thank you!
6 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoWhat Are Some Creative Names That Fit This Character?
Hi,
I've been configuring a YA fantasy novel set in modern times for a while now. So far, I'm content with almost everything but the name of my protagonist. Originally, she was going to be named Gwendolyn, nicknamed Gwen, but that name doesn't work anymore. Instead, I'm looking for a unique, pronounceable girl name that will fit.
In the story, she finds out her mother is a celestial deity.
That's just a bit about her. Do you know any exotic, unique. flowing. creative girl names? It doesn't have to be all of the traits I listed, but preferably within those standards. I want some pronounceable. Nothing like Azmirash or Phalopaneeg. Okay? Nothing too bizarre. Haha! If you have any creative girl names associated with the moon, those are acceptable as well. The more you list, the better!
I know these are strict standards, but I would really appreciate your help. Thank you very much! :)
8 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago✿ Does This Name Suit This Character?
Hello,
Recently, I've been cultivating an adventure/YA fantasy novel that's set in modern times. The only problem is I'm hesitant about the name of my main character. Originally, I was going to call her Gwendolyn and have everyone just call her Gwen, but does it work? She's this wild, curly blonde haired girl with grey eyes and a spunky personality. She's independent, loyal, an only child (for a reason) and loves her parents dearly. She's been home schooled since she was little, however, despite what people may say about home schooled kids being unsocial, she's actually quite friendly because she goes on multiple vacations with her parents and meets people. I picture her looking like this (AnnaSophia Robb with curly hair) ~

Do you guys think that Gwen fits her? Or do you think I should use something else? Something a little more out-there to match up her personality?
I appreciate any positive, constructive input you have to offer. Thank you!

Hi,
Recently, I've been thinking about starting my own creative writers Facebook page. I've been considering what to name it and I would appreciate some ideas. I follow a bunch of them on Facebook already, but I'm looking for a unique title to start my own. Some of them that are already out there are;
Creative Teen Writers
Young Writers
Creative Writers
YAuthor
Writers Unite
Just Write
I absolutely love writing, especially creative writing! I'm constantly learning more about it and I would love to share tips and hear what other people have to say. I'm fourteen so the page will be directed more towards young writers, however adults are allowed. ^_^ Do you have any ideas on what to name it? I was thinking "Writing Like A Boss", but I'm open to suggestions. I know it's not very creative of me to be asking you guys, but I'd love some inspiration. Thank you in advance! ☮

7 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago★ Makeup Suggestions For A Wedding I'm Going To ☆?
Hi,
I'm going to a wedding in Montana at the end of this month and I'm playing piano for it. I was wondering if you had any makeup suggestions?
I'm wearing a dress that has a black skirt and white top part plus some gray cowgirl boots with diamond studs since they're having a country-themed wedding. I'm fourteen years old, so I don't want anything too dramatic. I have natural curly red hair and blue eyes. I noticed that bronze, peach, and golden eyeshadows look okay on me, but I'm not sure if that will work with the black and white. I have sparkly eyeliner and mascara, and this awesome shimmer dust. Should I just go for a gray, sparkly look?
Any suggestions? I appreciate your help! ^_^
1 AnswerMakeup8 years ago★ I Have the Characters and Idea, but Not the Plot. Please Help? ★?
Hi,
Recently, I've been trying to form my idea into an actual story. However, I've changed the concept several times so you can see that I'm a bit uncertain with the direction I want to take it. Here are some things I know for certain;
★ The genre is YA fantasy novel.
★ I have a majority of the characters set up and I've been developing my main character
★ I know that there are special kids that have to go to an encampment in the middle of the woods because a wicked force is on the rise and will try to attack them. Why? I'm still contemplating that.
★ I know my main character (a girl) will go on a quest with three other kids (two boys and another girl, whom is actually her worst enemy).
Plus I have a couple scenes planned out in my head. The problem is, I can't tie all of the loose ends together or answer the "whys" to form a plot. Do you have any tips or advice for me?
I know this is my story, but I've just been having the hardest time getting this one set up. If you have negative things to say, blurt it out somewhere else please. I appreciate any positive input you have to offer. Thank you!
5 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago★ Any Tips On How To Plot A Novel ★?
Hi,
Recently, I've been plotting this story out, but I keep running into problems. Whether it's with plot twists, locations, character names, villains, or scene transfers... I just can't seem to get it down. Basically, the story is about these children that are "blessed" by the sun god and moon goddess. There are 24 children in all who are "blessed" because they'll be needed in the future. But for what? How do they get blessed and why? That's what I keep asking myself, but I can't seem to brainstorm. Also, I wanted to have this place in the woods called a "camp" that was a source of protection for the kids, but I'm worried it sounds too much like the Percy Jackson series with the gods and goddesses and camp.
Should I just scratch the whole thing and start fresh? Does anybody know why I keep having these problems?
I appreciate any positive help. Thank you. ★
7 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago☆ How Should My Character Get In Trouble?
Hi,
I've been developing characters and plotting this story out for a few weeks now, but I hit a dilemma. Could you please help me?
Basically, the story is about these children that are blessed by the moon goddess and son god. They end up having to go to this encampment in the midst of the woods for protection. My question, however, involves my protagonist and how she acquires a specific enemy at the encampment. We'll call my main character "MC" and enemy "E" since it's less revealing. Now, E's mother died and she lives with her alcoholic father, so when she sees MC being dropped off at the encampment by loving parents, she becomes jealous. I want MC to get in trouble by E at the encampment to show their disliking towards one another. But how? Do you have any ideas on how to establish them as enemies or how E could get MC in trouble?
I know this is my story, I'm just having some difficulty brainstorming. Any positive input is much appreciated! Thank you. ☆
7 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago☆ Okay, I Have A Dilemma. Creative People Please Help?
Hey,
Recently, I've been plotting out a story and characters. The only problem is, I need a little help. Could you please assist me?
The idea that I'm starting to like at the moment is that they're children of the moon goddess and sun god. The sun god produces the boys and moon goddess produces the girls. Now, instead of using the usual idea of having them come down to earth and mate with humans, I was considering something else. What if the moon goddess and sun god do something to a "special" kid inside of a pregnant woman? For example, the moon goddess somehow, let's say, "blesses" the girl inside of the pregnant woman and the son god can somehow "bless" the boy inside of different pregnant woman. They do this because the children will be needed in the future.
What do you guys think of this idea? How should they "bless" the baby forming inside the pregnant woman's womb? How many kids should they "bless"? There doesn't have to be enough to save the entire world. That's not on the agenda. I haven't exactly figured out what they're going to save, though...
I know this is my story, I just can't brainstorm properly. I'd appreciate any positive input or inspiration.
Thank you! ☆

Hi,
I'm writing a story--cultivating it, really and I just can't solve this kink. It's one of the biggest parts to the story and I'm having so much difficulty with it. Could you please help me? My original idea was to have my character born from a stars energy that fell into earths atmosphere, mingled with human energy, and produced her. She was going to have human emotions, a human body on the outside, and a human brain--so she's half human. But I'm not so sure if this idea isn't working for me. It doesn't seem realistic enough.
I'm so conflicted here. How should she be born? I want it to have to do with the stars, but I want her to have a human body, emotions, and brain. Do you have any ideas? Should she even be born from the stars? Or just have power within her from the stars? Should I just stick with my original idea, explain it as much as possible throughout the book, but leave the details scientifically mysterious? The book is going to be dealing with some spiritualism, making some of it unexplained... right? I'm not sure. I just need some opinions and inspiration to help me think.
I know it's my story, but I've been contemplating this for weeks and haven't come up with any ideas I love. Any positive input is highly appreciated. Thank you!

11 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago▼ Do You Know Anything About Spiritual Astrology▼?
Hi,
I'm cultivating a story and it involves astrology so I'm doing a bit of research. At the moment, I'm more curious about spiritual astrology than the scientific bit.
The story is about a girl who discovers she was born from a falling star. She's mostly human only there's a couple quirks--like her insomnia. She's not the only one, but I'm not going to give away too much here because I want to focus on the question.
My question for you is, do you know anything about spiritual astrology? I'd like to incorporate that into my story. If you know any stories, interesting opinions (whether from yourself, someone you know, or an old tale), websites, or anything else. I'm determined to soak up as much information as possible to make this story interesting.
Thank you so much! ^_^

5 AnswersAstronomy & Space8 years ago▼ Which Name Fits This Character Better ▼?
Hello,
I'm cultivating a story, but I can't decide on a name for my main character. Would you mind just giving me an opinion on which name you think fits better? Here's a brief description of her;
In the beginning of the story she's fourteen and the story takes place over a course of two years. She has stormy blue-grey-green eyes and wild, curly white-blonde hair -- which is a fairly big part of the story. She's independent, spunky, stubborn, witty, wise, a bit geeky, loyal, curious, concerned, committed, and brave.
The story has a lot to do with stars, by the way. I'm not going to give away too much information, but she was born from a shooting star.
I might change my mind in the future, but the two names I like at the moment are;
Gwen (full name Gwendolyn) or Zora?
Zora means "dawn".
Gwen means "fair" or "blessed".
Which name do you think fits better?
I know it's my story, but I'm just kind of stumped. Thank you so much!
16 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago▼ Assistance In Adding Quirks To My Story ▼?
Hi,
I've been cultivating a story for a couple weeks now and I just have a quick question for you guys. At least, I'm going to try to make it as quick as possible.
The story is about a girl who was born from a shooting star. She finds out by stumbling upon (or being forced to) a camp that has "star kids" just like her. There, the elder star members teach specific skills to the kids. Obviously there's more to the story, but that's all you really need to know for now.
So, lately I've been focusing on adding quirks to the story, particularly the "star kids". For example;
1. They gain their energy from sun and moonlight.
2. They have trouble sleeping at night.
3. They can tell direction from looking at the stars.
My question is; Can you think of any other quirks, behavior, or habits to add to the story? Preferably related to the sun, moon, and stars.
I know it's my story, but I'm just having trouble brainstorming.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it! ^_^
16 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years ago▼ How Old Should My Characters Be ▼?
Hi,
I've been planning out a story for a couple weeks now and I was wondering if you guys could help me with the age of my characters. I just need some opinions.
The story is about a girl who discovers she was born from a shooting star. She finds out by stumbling upon this encampment with other kids just like her where they teach them specific things. That's making a long story short, though. There's obviously going to be more to it, but the problem is I can't figure out how old she should be.
I was thinking she could be about 14 when she finds the camp and the story goes on for a course of about two years. Do you think that works?
I know this is my story, but I just need opinions from you guys.
Thank you so much. I appreciate it!

I know some people have said AnnaSophia Robb or Alexandra Daddario just dye her hair blonde (which she actually did for the next movie coming out in August -- Sea of Monsters),
But what's your idea? Who would you have cast?
