  • Adding Adsense ads to co-owned website?

I have created a website, however, I want somebody else to do all of the advertising and marketing parts for me. We will be using Google Adsense for the adverts, does Google allow this, or I do I have to set up Adsense myself?

Also, if we use his Adsense account, should we do it in my name or his?

  • Teacher looking through students phone?

In one of my lessons at school (in England) a teacher regularly confiscates a phone off a pupil because she uses it in lesson. The first time she confiscated it, she unlocked it and looked through some of the contents on it. The girl put on a passcode lock on it afterwards, and next time the teacher confiscated it, she sat there trying to guess the code; she got it wrong a few times and the phone was locked out for an hour.

Is this even legal? Or is the teacher well within her rights to look through a pupils phone?

  • What damages a computer more; regular temperature changes or always being hot?

    What would damage a computer more out of these two;

A computer running hot constantly (NOT overheating, just warmer than average)

Or a computer getting warm and cooling down, then heating up again regularly?

    Thanks.

  • Working out the current date from the number of seconds since 1970?

Epoch is the number of seconds since midnight on the 1st January 1970. What is the equation which gets the date?

For example; the current date is 01/12/12 and Epoch is currently: 1354400509

There is a number (or multiple numbers) that I need to subtract/divide by to get the date, I just don't know what they are. Could someone please tell me how to work it out?

    Thanks

  • What is classed as child pornography?

I'm a bit confused about this one.. What _exactly_ is classed as child pornography?

Is it just any child naked? Or only when it's sexual?

Because I know of fathers/mothers who have taken pictures of their children while in the bath, nothing sexual, so is that child porn or not?

  • Is it likely my iPhone 5 will come earlier than advertised?

My iPhone 5 will apparently come between the 9th and the 15th October. What are the chances that it will come sooner than the 9th?

Because, can't the factories make more than expected iPhones, therefore, they have more to give to customers?

  • What's the difference between watts and watts/ph?

What's the difference between watts and watts per hour?

Also, how do you work out the per hour part from how much it's using now?

For example, I know something is using 20watts right now, does that mean 20watts/ph or do I have to times it by something to get the per hour?

  • Very painful finger? Help?

My right index finger hurts a lot when pressure is on the fingertip. I noticed it about an hour ago, I haven't injured it in any way or done anything unusual with it. It feels like an electric shock when I touch anything.

What can I do to stop it hurting?

  • Will using 100% CPU at all times damage my computer?

I'm running a program called Folding@Home on my computer, it does calculations about diseases and various things while my computer is on, it then sends the results of the calculations back to the server when done.

Basically, this keeps my CPU at 400% at all times (100% across 4 cores) usually I would only be using small amounts. So could this damage my computer or make it last a significantly shorter amount of time before failing?

In the long run (other than more power consumption) will this be worse off for me?

This software is only running 10 hours per day on average. If that changes things.

Temperature control is not an issue; my computer will not over heat.

  • Data Roaming on iPhone?

There is an option on my iPhone called Data Roaming, underneath it says "Turn off data roaming when travelling to avoid charges when web browsing and using email and other data services."

So, does that mean it should be turned 'ON' when I'm at home and not travelling?

And when I'm travelling I need to turn it back off?

Also, by travelling does it mean outside of the country?

  • Refusing to give police access to a computer?

If police got a warrant to access someone's computer, but the disk in the computer was strongly encrypted and the owner refused to decrypt it, what would happen?

Basically what I'm asking is; would the police spend lots of time trying to decrypt the drive? Or would they arrest the owner? If they arrested the owner, what would the charge be?

  • Are Skype chats direct or through servers?

When I'm talking to someone on Skype, do the messages go straight to my recipients' computer or through the Skype servers?

I once heard that it's direct to the recipient, but it seems unlikely. Does anybody know?
